Help! My phone isnt charging!!! - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi, my phone went out of battery during the night. This morning Ive connected to the chsrger but it doesnt charge,i havent got a 2nd battery and when I connect it to the usb nothing happens!!! Why it isnt harging? What do I do???. Answer me as fast as possible please. [email protected]

have u tried the wall charger or using a different usb port

Original charger and patience
Are you using the ORIGINAL charger and are you LEAVING IT FOR a while. If the battery went completely flat it takes some time for the MDA to recognise the charger (no light then all of a sudden it starts charging) . Don't know why. I'm not a techy but I'm sure someone here will tell you. Frightened me when it happened, but I'm sure I found the above answer on these pages.

Try taking the battery out and in again then try a different charger as it is more likely to be the charger/socket than the phone.

Another suggestion is if you have an old charger that you don't need, chop the plug off it, expose the wire and hold them to the correct battery terminals ont he battery. IE. positive to positive, negative to negative, the terminals are labelled on the battery.
After 5-10 minutes this should have jump-started your battery and your device should work and it should now charge.

Yeah - i had to do what Paul said, and it worked. TO be honest, I didn't expect it to.
For more details, see:
http://www.howardforums.com/showpost.php?p=6423610&postcount=543

I had this happen to me as well. I tried 4 different chargers, in wall and via usb pc cables. Eventually I took it back to Cingular and they told me my battery "failed" and gave me a new one for free.

HTC not charging, battery dead?

Helloes guys and goils.
I have a HTC wiz, and for a good few weeks now I have had problems with it.
First off, It would NOT charge through the Wall Socket OR USB, I let it run down over XMas and it's not been the same again.
It just will not charge or come on.
When I plug it into USB it looks as if it is charging, with the Orange light and The power bar turns to the socket looking thing, but when I leave it to charge it just goes off and doesnt come back on.
When I plug it into the wall socket the HTC does not respond.
I have been asking my mate in work to put it in his and charge it via HIS wall charger, which has worked a few times, but I seem to be getting a very awful run out of my battery.
I am thinking it is the phone and NOT the battery as i first thought, I dunno, im scared of throwing up £30 notes on a new battery only to find it is the phone.
What do you guys think I should do?
I heard somewhere that it is a SOFTWARE based charge and not a hardware based charge, what does that mean?
DO u think a flash would help it? I cant see it myself.
Or is my HTC just goosed?
Well
I can speak from experience when I tell you my wizard nuked 2 batteries...
how I dont know.
Hopefully one of the gurus can shed some light on your situation

If you do replace the battery, look on eBay - I got a new 1250 mA battery (there are also 1100 mA versions, don't get that) for $13.99US including shipping - works great!
Make sure its nothing simple... Try the USB cable plugged directly into the computer without using a USB hub (if you are) and different USB ports on the back of the computer. Also try different outlets for the AC adapter. If still nothing else I'd even ask for help from your local cell phone store (put on a sad face) and see if they'll lend you a power cord and or swap out batteries to see if they can reproduce the problem on a different Wizard, battery, etc.
There has been many posts on this subject with several different fixes.. i would suggest searching and reading and you can find your answers
My case
Hi,
I had somewhat similar problem with mine. My porblem was that I bought the Wizard with a Motorola charger. It had the same mini usb plug and when I plugged it to charge, the led on the wizard was orange and the Wizard indicated its charging, but the moment I unlugg it, the battery indicator was coming back to its previous state. My solution is to use the PC USB to charge it, on a couple of occasions I had the battery completely drained and had to "jump start it" by connecting the wires from the usb directly to the + and - of the battery. Even used once my good old AA Ni-MH charger to jump start the battery and it worked.
So perhaps you are not getting power from the cable, why not try with different charger or charging from another USB source (PC).
Hope this helps
Just happened to me tonight. Thought that my Wizard was toast as well.
I merely took the battery out for 10 minutes, put battery back in, and plugged device into original wall charger. All is well now.

XDA Mini S + USB Charging

Not sure if this is right part of forum, but here it goes.
I am having an issue with the charging of my O2 XDA Mini.
If my battery dies, with still a small bit of power left in it (enough to get splash screen) and I go to charge it works fine no problem. Now over the wkend my phone died on my and I left it till this afternoon when I tried to turn on, it wouldnt turn on at all (not even splash) because obviously the battery is completely dead. Now when I go to plug it in, it wont charge, from USB cradle, the little orange light to say that its charging doesnt even come on.
Last time this happened I eventually got it to work via a friends socket (plug) charger, rather than USB, charger. Is there any reason for this or anyway that it can be fixed that even when the battery is completely dead I can charge it from my USB cradle.
Any help would be apreciated.
Thank you in advance
Rattlehead
Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have any idea. I beleve the cause of this is due to the fact the USB power from the PC isnt enough to get the charging process started, is there anyway to get this done via the cradle.
Thanks
Rattlehead
You'll need to use a charger that plugs into a wall socket I'm afraid. This happened to me once & that was the only way I could get it to work. If you search on Google, you'll find methods that involve a stripped down usb cable, but a wall charger is definately easier.
Good luck.
Should any usb based wall charger work?
I have a Motorolla one and Ive tried that but that didnt work.
I know for a fact that when I use my friends one it works and will charge, but he aint round for another 2 weeks

You cannot charge a totally flat battery through usb cable using PC,cuz it only supplies 0.5(500)amp,whereas to get the dead battery back into charging,it requires a supply charge of 1.0(1000)amp,secondly you can only charge the phone via usb if it's working normal and not when it's dead,as you cannot boot into OS.
Therefore,it'll only start to charge with a 'Wall Charger' which only supplies 1.0 amp, your friend's Wall (Mains) charger must be suppling a 1.0 amp charge. You cannot even charge it with the Motorola usb charger cuz it also supplies only 0.5 amp.So try to get a Wall (Mains) charger to get it start charging.
OR,
Yes! you can Jump start the battery using Motorola charger, but you'll have to sacrifice the motorola charger to do it,as you'll have to cut off the usb plug of the charger cable end and attach the 'Red' wire to the '+' (Possitive) connector of the battery and black wire to the '-' (Negative) connector of the battery and give Shock Charge to the battery for 10 seconds, repeat this for 4/5 times,it'll give the battery a jump start and will increase the 'Pulse' level of the battery, after that put it in the phone and check if it loads up,if it does then you can charge it via usb cable connected with PC.
Good luck
BTW ! there's an excellent thread regarding charging to avoide the battery to go flat and saving from getting into this situation,it wud be very info for you, check it also :-

zabardast_1 ,
You are the Guru ~
sorry couldnt reply to you before now, zabardast_1 thank you so much.
Thats great will have a look tonight and see what I can do
Here is a simple way of solving the problem, go and buy a charger, they cost next to nothing.

XDA Mini S....Dead....no really

Hi all,
Right, the battery on my XDA Mini S was getting low, so I plugged it into the wall charger (not an official one, its a motorola mini usb charger 5v, 850mA)
It was left charging for a couple of days. I think? Someone could have turned off the switch? But the switch was on this morning
Anyway.....It doesn't boot, no signs of life at all, if i plug it into the wall charger then there's no lights.
Doesn't even go to boot loader.
No response when plugging it into USB.
I've tried hard reset, no nothing.
It's weird because its been working perfectly.
I've been googling and reading the forums here.
I've had a go at "jumping" or reviving the battery. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?
I bought a 9v battery, took apart a mini usb cable and removed the red and black wires. I've been holding the wires from the 9v battery connecters to the tips of the + and - plates.
Still nothing.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Surely it can't just become a paper weight suddenly?
This hasn't happened from flashing either.
I've also tried another charger, which didn't work, so the charger isn't the problem.
Wohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Fixed it.
I tried "reviving" the battery again.
Except this time I tried connecting the + and - to different plates.
My sticker on the back of my battery lies, and tells me the wrong + and -
So I googled what an XDA Mini S battery should REALLY look like....voila!
better buy a 1AMP Wall charger and don't let the battery completely discharge.
Yeah, I heard this problem with a friend of mine as well. Battery ran out completely and it wouldnt charge at all (seems that it only charges if the phone is on, so, yeah, figures).
My suggestion on that case would be to try something else to charge the battery alone, dont know a specific charge but sometimes little things like putting it in the freezer for some time works to give it a tiny little life back, enough to turn on the phone, you never know.
hey i have same problem with that
im using 9 v batteries and connect to mda batteries
but still nothing
what must i do. . . . . .
would someone help me
i try all but still nothing
2 days a go my mda can on but only bootloader and then off
till now im so confused
please help me
i run out of battery too and now can't find anyway to turn on my mobile to charge. need some help too. hix

4,connect usb cable to r computer
5,red wire to the square has (+) icon
black to other
wait about 30s
6, place pin to yout phone and power on, u have some second to recharge it
nice, i'm charge my phone
it's not work for me
stiil freeze

I need someone with a wing to test something for me, please.

I've got a wing with charging issues. I was wondering if someone with a wing could test something for me.
Will the wing run if it's plugged into the wall charger, and then has the battery removed?
Will the wing stay running in standby, plugged in, and has the battery removed, replaced, then is brought out of standby?
My wing recognizes when it's plugged in but instead of saying "charging" in power it just says A/C Only and continues to drain the battery. Also the red (Orange?) charging led does not light up. It's odd, and I would like some help with the above questions to try and ascertain what may be the problem.
Thanks!
Wall charger and then battery removed- Yes
Standby, plugin, battery removed/replaced, out of standby- yes
Its possible that your wall charger is not supplying enough power to the device to get it have a positive charge deficit on the battery drain. This might happen if the circuit is already full of other things or if you are plugging it into a power strip or surge protector.
Thank you very much for your time. I tried it in two outlets with nothing else in them and no dice. The charger is rated at 5v 1000ma so it shouldn't have trouble. Is the OEM charger made by delta?
It charges my other phones with a miniusb connector fine though, and I've tried two chargers on my wing. I think it's either the battery or something wrong with the phone.
One last thing, with the phone off and no battery in, will it start up when plugged in?
Thanks!
when i say that the wall is not supplying enough power, i'm saying that the cannot physically supply the kind of power that the wing needs to get charging. Its not really a matter of the charging unit or anything.
try (believe me this is a definitive test) going into a completely empty house and plugging your device in. If it doesnt charge, its probably hardware related.
By the way, it WILL start when plugged in. At least normally, i do believe.

Are any of the chargers you tried specifially made to charge the wing? I used to have a razr and figured that car charger would work since it has the same miniusb but it does not charge my phone.
Just a thought.
Turns out i was wrong
if you take out the battery while plugged in, the phone will turn off.
Therefore i assume i was wrong about everything else too.
But seriously, i have no idea why it wouldnt charge. Call'em up and you might get a free replacement. I did (not for this issue though)
Oh! That makes me feel a little better. I've got what I think is an oem charger (If anyone else has a oem one, see if it's made by delta, if not then the guy who sold this to me may have given me the wrong charger) but I don't understand why it wouldn't charge off my computer back when it was at 70% either.
I've got a new battery coming in, so if that doesn't fix it I'll call em up.

Try to charge the phone while it's off. If the orange light goes on, then it should be charging.

HD2 Died - Power Problem

Thats right.. last night i left my Leo charging, today when i woke up i noticed that the battery level was very low so.. i unplugged it and plugged it again, noticed that the orange led wasnt lighting up, neither was the phone charging.
The phone gets very very very hot when plugged to charger or USB port on my computer and does not charge at all.
Tried it all, left it all day long with the battery out of the phone, tried charging without it in.. and nothing..it just gets very hot where the connectors (pins) make contact with the battery.
Now im trying to charge the battery on a cradle to flash it with stock rom and SPL to get it to warranty..
Any of you guys has any thoughts?
I see i posted in the wrong section.
Thank u mod
Do you always charge via usb into pc? Is your cradle plugged into the wall or pc? I don't know if you have done this, probably so, but check in windows settings->system->Power and inside the battery tab see if the "When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC" is checked.

Yeah.. it crossed my mind to check for it, and that option is unchecked.
Though the charging "orange" led doesnt turn on even if the phone is off.
I usually charge it via usb->pc, allthough i tested with the wall charger and nothing.
I suspect it must have been a power surge that burnt in some way the PBC of the "charging module..thing"
Thanks for the suggestion
i'd check that none of the pins for the battery are in contact with each other if there is heat in that area.
Ok, I'm assuming then that the phone works, but just has low battery at the moment. If that's the case then it doesn't appear to be the battery or the leads. Any chance it's the cable? That of course assumes your using the same one with the cradle. I ask because my device didn't come with a wall charger, just a usb cable so I had to get a few extra plus a wall plug-in with a usb port.

Weird, but unfortunately it didn't. I think being in the US and getting the device from Telstra in Australia may be why I didn't. Well, if it is a hardware problem and you can't get it to charge from the device, I believe you can get a cradle that will allow you to charge the battery independant of the phone. I know it's not the best option on the planet, but it would get your battery where it needs to be to flash and confirm whether or not it's a charging issue with the battery itself.
Come to think of it, this did happen to me several weeks ago. I plugged the phone in before bed as usual and noticed the charging light didn't go on and the battery drained overnight from about 60% to 15%, which it shouldn't have done. Not in standby at least. Soft-reset the next day fixed it. It hasn't done it since. I was installing a bunch of things that evening, which may have been what did it.
I had a same problem with my hd2 and by some miracle and few days of pain
it workd again...and it workd about 5 days and same thing happend al over again...and I think I have solution!
It may be stupid but it work for me...
try to connect your hd2 to charger but without battery and then insert the battery and it should start up your phone and charging...
I apologizes for my poor english
