How to enable Band Selection in Phone Settings? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Does anybody know which registry key to change or make in order to have a Band Tab under Phone Settings?

Band Selection Tab in Phone Settings on HTC Wizard?
Those that have the Band Tab in Phone Settings of WM PPC Phone, would you please do me this favor posting the registry details of this entry: : HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting
My device has ShowTimeZonesPage and ShowPIN2Page only. I wonder if one has got something else. Still working on adding this Band Selection TAB.
Thank you in advance!

I would also appreciate this information. My 8525 keeps latching onto UMTS at a very low signal strength. I'd prefer to disable UMTS at times. Thanks,

Do you mean how to you force your phone to stay on GSM., rather then switing to UMTS? well thats what i think you mean,
all you do matey is go into the phone pad select menu then options
you will see alot of tabs at the bottom, keep going right until you come across the BAND tab,
in there change your network type to GSM
hope that helps
Peace out.

no GSM-only network band selection

I do not use UMTS so it would be nice to turn it off to save power, at least most of the time.
However the "Band" dialog contains only these:
Auto
GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100)
GSM(1900+850)+UMTS(1900+850)
UMTS(2100+800)
I found the corresponding entries in registry, ItemName[1-4] and ItemValue[1-4]. The latter are assigned to 0...3. It's unfortunate, in case of a discontinuity (say, 0,2,3,4) I would instantly have an idea what to do next
Is there a simple hack to fix this?
WM6 (5.2.1437), ROM 3.54.255.3, radio 1.48.00.10.
From your network type, select 'GSM' instead of 'Auto', which I'm sure it is on now. That will do the trick. You might see an 'E' if you service provider offers EDGE, but this won't be an issue, otherwise you will just see the 'G' again.
Great! Works exactly as you described.
(I will need to do some reading about WCDMA, to avoid similar misunderstandings in the future...)

Rogers Wireless and Band Switching

This is a question to all the Rogers Wireless users:
Does anyone know if Rogers locks their phones to 3G; or more accurately, if they set their phones so the user can't manually force GSM?
I ask because I've been trying (and failing) to find a way to set my HP iPAQ 910c to lock into GSM mode in order to save battery life. My phone settings panel lacks the "Band" tab some resources I've found talk about that allows changing of radio band, and I've tried a number of registry tweaks an an attempt to enable the tab so I can specify GSM network to no avail. The best I've been able to do is get DHR BandSwitch to set a timeout on my data connections, which helps a bit.

switch off 3G

can't find a thread here, but can I switch off 3G on a HD2? Optus in Sydney has no 3G reception sometimes. But the HD2 still thinks it's on. It can call out, but nobody can call in (gets msg 'phone is off'). Data/sms don't come in.
Optus admits it's their 3G, solution is to use 2G. I can't find the option
Touch tools
Touch tools will add an extra slider to your connections screen or if you look through the very first sticky in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638 under tip#58 there is a cab that just installs that.

go to settings>wireless controls>phone>band then select GSM instead of Auto under Network type
i have turned off 3g on my phone to save me some battery
ps, tap the phone icon itself under the settings menu and not the slider (off/on) thing
I recieved this myself from HTC Support..
a simple program to do just that, turn off 3G.
No need to install, just put the file on your phone and run it (the .exe, not the .zip d: )

Is it a toggle? or does it just turn off 3G?
EDIT: This is just like the regular Data Connection Enabler / Disabler program at XDA.
Is there a registry entry to do the equivalent of what the 3G slider switch in the Comm manager does?
If anyone wants to do this (Set Netwrok to GSM) during XDA_UC through the registry
HKLM \ Software \ OEM \ UMTS
OpMode: 1
Supported Values
0 - Auto
1 - GSM
2 - WCDMA
Band Selection can also be done. Just look for the Folder "BandSelection" under UMTS.
You need to edit the value of BAND
The effect of this can be seen only after a soft reset or manually switching the network type or the bands. However the indicators (in the Comm Manager or in the Band Selection Utility) will reflect the change immediately even though the radio does not switchover to the desired Network / Band.

I support cezzarmicu with this, i do that often when i need my phone to stay longer without shutting off especially when i'm outdoors for longer times!
Simple procedure!

H990DS - Enable hidden LTE Bands?

Any way to enable missing/hidden LTE bands ? I'm interested in Band 66 which is a superset of Band 4.
Anyone? I am in the same boat as freedom mobile recently started turning on their LTE network on grandfathered plans.
Any help would be much appreciated.
In the same boat, hope Band 66 could somehow be enabled.
Try *#546368#*990#, then navigate to Field Test, then modem settings, then LTE band selection...
Be careful to note the path of navigation and the values changed...donot try if not sure...
unwanted fiddling will result failure to identify network signals...
Anyone have succrss with above mentioned procedure?

I tried this, but no matter what band I select it says FAILED.
