Searching in Text messages - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Is there a tool or plugin that will allow you to freetext search in your Text Messages store?
If you keep all your messages, like me, it can be difficult to find info...
If not, then would there be demand for such a tool?

Use the WM5 built-in search function (Start->Program->Search)? It works on my unit.

Indeed it works. Thanks for that.
Would have been a bit more intuiative had MS added a search within the menus of the messaging application, don't you think... IMHO.

Hide SMS simple freeware tool ?

Is anyone aware of a simple freeware to hide sms. I tried SMS Hide 1.0 but it doesn't work anymore and redirects to some website. At website we are advised to us SMS organizer.
SMS Organizer works well but I'm looking for a very simple application with a very small footprint which would simply hide sms from identified users and no other features.
I have searched everywhere but to no luck yet. If anyone has any such software or if one of the developers could write a simple code for it, would be wonderful.
Thanks

O2 SMS Plus & HTC Home Plugin

After searching the forums I am unable to find an answer to this one.
How do I set HTC Home middle button (SMS) to open O2 SMS Plus instead of tmail when I press it. I searched the registry and came up dry and there is no setting I see in HHC. Actually if there is a way to set O2 SMS Plus as the default SMS/MMS application for the entire BA I would prefer that. I use Gmail for email and that requires tmail so I was afraid to change it in HKLM/software/microsoft/shell/rai/MSINBOX as I presumed I would lose access to Gmail.
Thanks in advance to all who answer.
Nobody knows
Well 2 days and 118 views with no responses pretty much implies that either I was not very clear or nobody has an answer.
In case I was unclear I am looking for a way to make O2 SMS Plus the default sms reader/composer instead of the MS one (tmail). But I must still use tmail for regular email such as Gmail.
Thanks again. Even if nobody knows this I have gleaned so much information from this forum/wiki that it won't hurt my feelings any.
You've probably had this answered long ago, but I thought I'd write in for anyone else who finds this thread.
The way to edit which program gets called through HTC Home is to edit the file HTCHome.dll with a hex editor, and then re-signing the dll. Unfortunately, HTCHome.dll only uses one reference to tmail.exe for both SMS and email, so if you change one it changes both of them. So the above isn't possible, I believe...

an alternative to outlook for SMS reading and writing

I have been looking but can't find info on what i need, i search everywhere (here and google) but maybe i can't find the correct keywords:
Is there an alternative application to read and write sms other than Pocket Outlook? with TF3D there is a great sms reader, but i don't want to put the complete TF3D for the SMS viewer.
also if there is one that supports smilies, instead of text based : ) things

A unified messaging app?

Hi guys,
just an idea, I don't know if any of you devs even like the idea or if it's possible, but here it is:
One app for all messaging, i.e. SMS/MMS/e-mail. Outlook Mobile already provides this, but it is possible to view only SMS/MMS or e-mail but not all of them together in one (per contact) thread and the app looks plain ugly . What I am talking about is a one-click access to ALL received messages, with contact based threaded view, finger friendly with possibilty to write messages from inside this app. So far I was not able to find something like this, they are always only for SMS or maybe sometimes e-mail, but there is no unified solution as far as I know
An ideal solution would be something like Resco contact manager but with possibility to have all types of messages per contact in one thread and the possibility to compose messages from that app.
Anyways that's it
Post your opinions/wishes/ or solutions maybe

[REQ]using default sms app

I've searched and searched but just can't find it, most threads don't have intuitive titles to help with the search so hopefully if we get a solution this will help others.
My request is pretty simple (I hope anyway), the HTC Sense SMS app sucks. It's slow, slow and slow; plus the text is tooooooo small for comfortable viewing/ reading outdoors. Is there anyway to switch to the default windows SMS app without flashing a custom ROM.
I haven't sold my [email protected] yet and this might jst be the deal breaker for me. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Go to your messages menu (from the all messages view) and tap menu/options/traditional mode.
You can get the WM client by searching for and downloading the "Zenyee Messaging cab". But I can't guarantee everything working perfectly (I think I had trouble with MMS using the Zenyee cab).
For me, if I have a ROM cooked with standard windows messaging and I apply that cab to use the HTC messaging, it breaks MMS. If I have a ROM with HTC messaging as default, applying the cab to use the standard windows messaging breaks MMS. I cannot win.
Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Just for your reference "traditional mode"; means its threaded. It doesn't change the app.
