Hello all,
Wow, am I glad I found this place. I got my Universal last weekend, and this site has just been a life saver.
Anyway, I got a bit of a problem. My Wifi works, except when I plug it into USB, and then it drops Wifi. Looking at connectinos, it's looking for a connection, and it finds one, but it will not take an IP. Any idea why?
Also, ActiveSync 4.2 seems to have an issue finding my Universal when I unplug, then replug it. Anyone else getting this?
Versions:

Rom date: 4/11/06
Radio Ver: 1.09.00

RxtROM: 1.30.162.WWE
Thanks y'all, looking forward to being ehre.

I dont' know if anybody has noticed this. After going thorugh Start / Settings / System Tab / Memory / running programs tab I stop all running progrrams. After sometimes I go to this place again and I find Active Sync as a running application even though I have not started it.
This did not happen on my old pda2k. Why does it happen on the universal JJ. Though it does not matter but yet it is taking some useful RAM and more so my urge to know why does it happen.
I will appreicate your views
Regards
I had this problem too
It is a pain in the ass as this causes skype not work with me. No solution yet.

Same here. I hope they fix things like this in Rom updates.
Try putting in dummy exchange server settings, disable all scheduled updates. That should stop AS autostarting.
Hi Efjay. Remember me? Anyway.. :? can you tell me/us how to go about doing this please  grovel, grovel!
Meanwhile, glad I was wrong about you!
Not to worry. Sussed it. Thanks for the tip though!
mackaby007, np glad you got it working, was at work and didn't see your reply til now on the way home. One-handed WM5 rocks.
Hi Efjay and All.
I'm not sure if this is related or not, but I had some problems whereby Active sync stopped working for me alltogether. Decided to download and install the unofficial 4.1 version of Activesync in conjunction with Magicbutton (and disabled the 'close' feature of Spb pocket plus 3) and presto, I'm no longer getting Activesync running in the background and all aplications close as they should!
If anyone is still experiencing problems in this area, give this a try and please post your experience back here.
Yeah your right Efjay, one handed operation in WM 5 rocks , but I'm still struggling to put the stylus down (I've become so used it, it's a new learning curve for me).
That's what you think
Try turning on wifi, and AS will come right back. I tried your solution and no luck. I tried faking the server and changing the schedule otpion, no luck, it just lives on....
No more annoying Activesync!!
Hi All. Just to report back, I,ve not had the recurring problem with Activesync poppin back anymore, at all, whatsoever!
Mikee: I tried as you said, and used wi-fi to surf the web, then watched a 2 hour movie on the JAsJar, then reconnected the wi-fi and listened to Resco Radio for 15 minutes, then checked memory status under settings. Nothing. No Activesync and nothing else running in memory. for me at least, the problem is gone and I'm not using any dummy server settings either! I'm typing this from the JasJar now and as we speak....just checked memory again. Nothing.
I don't know what to say, but I know you've had this problem a while now and all I can think is that it's either the software you have installed (possibly need a clean re-install of Activesync 4.1) like skype, which I uninstalled the minute I got my JasJar, or your Radio ROM update, which I have not done either.
Anyway, sorry I can't be of any more help to you, but please post your findings here if you snag the culprit.

Hello All,
I don't think this problem is specfic to the JasJar, as I have the very same problem on my PDA2K. This only started happening after I upgraded to the windows of OS. So, I think it's more to do with W05 and or activesyne 04 which is needed to run W05. I have also found that this happen befor I even installed any apps on system, and I never had Skype so that can be ruled out as the culprit. Anyway, still trying to solve this bug, Have not recieved my Universal as yet...I'm waiting for the o2 version  Think the black rocks! Until then I have been keeping my eye on all the help from this section of the site...Just my 2cents
Thanks for taking the time to read me,
My wifi signal level on my MDA is always very low (one bar or nothing) even when I'm at 3 meters form a wifi router. I've tried many different routers and hotspots and always getting a very weak signal, while my laptop is getting maximum strengh. Because of this weak signal it's very difficult for me to connect in a hotspot, I'm loosing the connection all the time...
I've tried to hard reset the unit, same problem.
I've contacted Tmobile, and after hours on the phone I've convinced them to send me a new device. Belive it or not same issue on this new unit!!!
Does anyone in this forum knows something about a weak wifi signal on the Tmobile MDA?
Note that i never changed the firmware:
ROM version 2.26.10.2 WWE
ROM date: 6/7/06
Radio version: 02.25.11
Protocol version: 4.1.13.12
ExtROM version: 2.26.10.105
Any help is appreciated,
thx
Hi,
I've got an M3100 flashed to the SA Tytn ROM and after recently it seems to have had problems staying on a network. When I start it up it finds the network and connects for a while but then looses it (the exclamation mark next to the signal indicator) and refuses to find it again. The only way to get it to connect is to go into phone settings and tell it to refresh the network.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?
Many thanks!
I was having a similar problem with my new Jasjam (HT 647xxx).
The factory installed ROM had a radio version 1.21.31.10 and the rom date was 8th september 2006.
Quite strangely the latest ROM available on the i-mate site is dated 21st July 2006 and has a radio version 1.07.03.10.
Since I have downgraded to the ROM available on the i-mate site it seems my problems are over. Maybe the ROM you have installed has a faulty radio rom.
Regards
Well I've got 1.18.00.10 as my radio version and I've had it for a while without any problems.
Just a couple of very routine things to be sure of (perhaps before going into Radio versions etc)
1. That the device is set to best performance not best battery under the network settings
2. The range is not great for wifi 10-15 metres at best so just to be sure your in good range. I know when I'm on the periphery of signal it connects fine but drops signal fairly often.
Cheers
Mike
Sorry, I should have made it clear that the problem is with the cellular network.
Sorry to bump this, but has anyone got any ideas? A full reflash of the device doesn't seem to have done anything so I'm beginning to worry that this is a hardware problem...
Hi everyone!
It was just yesterday that I got my P3600, but have been reading this forum for at least a weak. So, first of all, I wanted more from my new phone and upgraded to WM6 (indigo full), installed tomtom and EE maps, but I have issues configuring it. I just been outside (as I believe in the house it can not work, right?) and trying many configurations, but none worked...
So, pleeeeeease, if anyone can give me a step-by-step guide, how to set up the settings in tomtom, and what about "External GPS" in Start->Settings->System??
ROM version: INDIGO
Radio version: 1.38.00.11
Thanks,
Peter
nevermind... I got it working, just it took a whole eternity to get hooked up...
Works nice, just the "elevation" is kinda wrong...for ~40meters :?
Dear WM6 and Trinity Fans,
I just installed WM6 on my Trinity, very pleased with the result.
The only problem is Windows Live and HSPDA,
the windows Live issue I'm trying to solve now and isn't that exciting cause the old Messenger is enough for me..
//Update - got MSN live working//
Now the other problem,
before I updated to WM6 I had a fast internet connection, from 30-35 kb p/s, and when I was internet browsing I saw the icon turn vrom G to H,
now with WM6 it stays G when I'm browsing and doesn't turn to HSPDA, even with the HSPDA switch turned on. So now my internet is at max 8 kb p/s,
anyone got the same problem,
I'm from holland and have KNP/Telfort,
rom version: tnyynt
rom date: 07/09/08
radio version: 1.38.00.11
Protocol version: 32.71.7020.12H
Extrom version: 003TNYSTD
hope anyone can help me,
friendly greetz,
Timo Campo
