push from every IMAP service with push capability? - Networking

I just installed the Microsoft Update for push technology for the Cingular 8125. Can it be possible to push from every IMAP service with push capability?

Outlook, push, pull, and whatnot

Hi, I recently updated my Cingular 8125 to the latest I-Mate ROM, and noticed Outlook is gone. My first question is: Where can I get this back? and if the process isn't so easy, where can I get another 'pull' client that takes from pop3 and sends from smtp?
Also, do you need a server for push email? As my computer is usually not on, I can't set up a server to push it to my Wizard.
when you upgrae your ROM you lose everything on the phone. it's essentially the mother of hard resets. when you sync with your pc inbox again it will return.
push email does indeed require a server, either exchange 2003 sp2 or you need a hosted email account that supports push

vodafone direct push

Does anyone know if direct push works with vodafone.
I have installed the WWE_13076_164_10900 rom which has direct push, but do I need to set up something at the server?, with vodafone?, or on my universal?
Thanks
Steve
these ppl are what you need

4s do the push bit, voda do the gprs/3g and you can your existing favorite email addy, or change it to another account fairlly simply
why cant i have direct push from the exchange server at work
If your IT Dept have setup SP2 for Exchange server and have Exchange ActiveSync (and push mail) enabled you should be able just to add your works excahnge frontend server to your phones activesync. This obvisoly depends on if HTTPS (or HTTP) is open to the front ends!

Help Requested: Direct Push - Push e-mail for Windows Mobile

So I've been trying out the new ROM's on my Wizard (Cingular 8125). And, one of the new features is support for 'push e-mail'.
I found a pretty useless Microsoft marketing drivel-site:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/articles/directpush.mspx
I would like to learn how I can either create my own push e-mail server, or else get reviews of ISP's who offer this service.
Cingular has a ssytem called Xpress mail that comes in two components. One is the xpress mail (push email) client for your device, and another piece of software that runs on your computer, grabbing emails, calendar/contact info fomr outlook, and sends that info to a server at cingular that will then push that to your device
additionally, emoze provides this service for free: www.emoze.com

push e-mail / blacberry ??

can someone explain and fill me in with this push e-mail and balacberry thing ? i have got the letest T-mobile ROM. how do i configure this push email?? what do i need and so on ?
cheers, matt
Direct Push email and AUTD (Always Up To Date) require an Exchange 2003 server.
There are other services that provide similar solutions, but, personally, I love Direct Push.

Balckberry push button not working?

The blackberry push button in my comms manager doesnt seem to respond, all other buttons seem fine. Is there anything else i need to do first?
Still trying to find my button... ;-)
First of all....
It's not a Blackberry push email button.
2nd. It's for the Push email via the MS Exchange Server 2003 w/SP2.
3rd. That's all I know about push email. If you want to set up your Universal for push email via MS Exchange Server (not BES), do a search. Sorry I can't be of more help.
The button you refer to is indeed related to Exchange 2003 sever with SP2...and it all works very nicely
In ActivSync, set schedule to be 'when new items arrive'...this will then enable the button automatically as long as you are set to sync with an Exchange 2003 SP2 server...
I have been using it no for 2 months and it works like a dream
you can't use direct push with a normal imap or pop email account, so don't expect to put an account in pocket outlook and then activate the push button. You need to have a exchange sp2 email account, get a free one from www.mail2web.com. Then configure activesync correctly and you can then use that button to disable or enable the directpush functionality of that sp2 account. If you want specific instructions on configuration you'll need to contact your sp2 provider. mail2web has a very nice tutorial for dummies too that you could check out.
