I am using MemMaid to view which files are taking up a lot of space. My message folder is 14MB and I've cleared all attachments and messages. Is it safe to delete the contents in the folder? They are files with random numbers and letters.

I have about 10 files in the Windows subdirectory which all start msgqueue...... and they all seem to contain SMS somewhere in the filename. Many of these are 2.7mb in size. I have tried renaming them and I don't thinkit's caused any problems - can I delete them as it would free up about 25mb
Mike
don't mess up with those files ... they are system files for queuing ... and don't worry about the space as they don't take any ... these sizes are fake
I have a leftover cache folder in internal memory from an install of Dashwire which contains 4Mb of files which I cannot delete... The files have strange characters such as boxes and copyright symbols in the file names which prevents me from doing anything with them (including renaming them). I tried reinstalling Dashwire which got rid of some of the files but not all.
None of the file managers I have tried are able to delete them and I haven't had any joy from the Dashwire forums.
Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated !
ever try to backup everything on your memory card (except the one with block or something), and then format it ??
Yeah, because it's my internal memory I was hoping not to have to do that But might have to by the looks of things...
Tried Cleantemp from Vicott Wong? Perhaps it helps........
i have 219mb storage on my device and only 25mb of free space so i wonder is there any program do delete some files or i need to go in file explorer and delete files.. i tried to go in file explorer and i deleted some files but got like 1 or 2 mb of space so i wonder what can i delete and what i must not delete..
Do this go and grab Clear Temp from FreewarePocketPC.net. Also open your file explorer and go to Windows>Opera>Profiles>Downloads and emty that folder.

The folders are maked by the apps, there are some cached files and data files.By deleting them, the apps data may be deleted.
Here .gps folder maked for yours gps datas and the svox for pico.tts app, which controlles the text to speech settings.By deleting them you will not have any major problem. But the datas for the apps will be deleted. And you have to download the text to speech data files one more time,if you delete svox folder.

Enable the option to view hidden files on the file Explorer. Now browse to the root of the internal storage and delete that .nomedia file. You should get you're files back.
You could also use a PC to see that the files are actually there.
Ask in the appropriate place....in the K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section.
seriously...a .nomedia isn't an app or a script which can delete any file...its just a freaking empty file.
your files are safe...
