Yes it is possible. Just use the app "Device Lock" and set it to start on wake, in Settings>System>Device Lock

Cheers.

I have a wizard with WM6.
The device becomes automatically locked if left for say period of 20-30seconds.
How do I control or disable this such that only backlight is turned off?
I have the "Device Lock" today plugin seems to be doing it?

go on start>settings>personal you got app lock, select lock and change the timing of locking, beside that i wouldnt ask such lame questions
hehe, i know it's a noob question but heck I still can't find it.
I'm using NBD7.9 if it helps (maybe the mod change something).
Anyway, in Personal -> I click Lock
It brings up a screen with:
Password
_________
[Tick Box] Prompt if device unused....[x minutes]
But this is password, and not lock/unlock with time to lock
If you are using something like battery status or spbshell, there are options like "lock device on wake up" or something... try unchecking them too...
Check under start>settings>lock.
Do you have prompt if device unused checked?
That's the only setting I found after using search, using Device lock
Is there a program that would automatically lock the keypad after an amount of time?
i use slide2unlock, it come on and locks screen and keypad when the backlight dims
its the only app i was able to find that would do it and not need a password to unlock (the standard wm6 lock screen can be set to come on after a time, but only when you set a password or PIN)
DeviceLock works (well, kinda). I have it set to a hardway button to suspend the device and lock. Works like a charm.

how about unlock? one button operation also?
I've actually switched to the new S2U2 from A_C...memory footprint is much smaller and manageable...
but...I had easy unlock enabled so i just clicked unlock and it would open the phone.
Is there a working version for a Device Lock for my beloved HD? I want my HD to be locked when a notification pops up or a phone call comes in. Actually its unlocked after a call or notification.....

try S2u2.
Do a search - there are a few similar discussions!
i like the pocket shield on my touch hd -> http://pocketshield.netserver01.com/
I´ve tried S2U2 on my Wizard with some strange problems like Battery drain etc. Pocketshield works so far, but i loved the simplyness of DeviceLock.
Isn´t there any way to lock the device on wake up? Pocketshield shouldn´t be the last fix for this problem....
PocketShield is the best for the HD.

What version?
I´ve tryed aout Phoneshield, but i wasn´t that surprised of it. Now i´ve tryed This:
Goto registry:
HKEY_CurrentUser\ControlPanel\Backlight\[AutoDeviceLockEnable set to 1]
HKEY_CurrentUser\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel\[LockLevel set to 1]
That works for me without installing any Software

I would to know one thing, I see two different key to lock the phone:
AutoDeviceLockEnable
LockLevel
why? isn't enough only one of them? for example backlight lockenable?
pls explain to me what exactly these 2 keys so
quick question :
which registry entry governs the backlight display on the lock screen,
at the moment i've got the phone dimming after 30 seconds, then it locks and the light comes back on. for about 30 seconds. ideal the lock screen would be illuminated for about 10 seconds then blank the screen.
What reg entries do i need to set to sort this out ?
answers appreciated.
many thanks.

by default yes, but you can amend the function of the long key press if you like via the buttons menu in further options.
i've got mine killing off connections data/phone, for example with the power button at the top locking the phone.
works for me.
Hi!
I'm still struggeling to find the right way to lock the phone. The ideal solution would be to:
1) Have the phone unlocked when I switch it on with the Power button (so that I can immediately use it after deliberately turning it on)
2) Have the phone automatically locked when it wakes up due to a phone call or SMS (so that I don't press anything by accident when it is in my pocket).
This seems to be the only really logical way to use device lock. Can this be done?
Regards!
But PocketShield doesn not meet my requirements (see above post). It's just another regular device lock app without the possibility to disable the device lock when the unit is turned on with the power button.
Regards!
I found the Registry-Hack Solution is the better way, just my opinion. But can somebody tell me which reg-value must be edited to avoid locking with end-call button? I don´t want to lock my device in this way, i want to end Data connections with long pressed end-key.
easy
1) scroll along to settings
2) hit 'all settings'
3) select 'personal' tab
4) select 'buttons' icon (top left)
5) get your stylus out
6) on the buttons screen, hit the arrow on the bottom right until you can see the "end key" section. hit that.
7) in the options listed, select "automatically execute selected action" and underneath this select " terminate data connection"
8) hit the OK button (top right) and bob your dads brother, you can now terminate data calls via the long press call cancel key.
nice one.
Thx for that.....
Hi all,
Do you know how to auto lock wm6.5 when you turn off the mobile? I speak about the "standard" lock screen not a software like S2U2.
Thanks in advance for the tweak.
Regards, Sylvain.
you can use smartlock : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032
Or you can just check the Auto Lock in the Lock Settings. Then every time you boot the phone, turn on the screen, etc... it will prompt for your 4 digit pin and slide to unlock.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer but I would like to lock the phone without a digit pin. I don't know if there is a registry key for that or something I can change with Advanced Configuration Tools, HTCPedia, HD Tweak...
I'm sure I have seen an old post with this kind of trick but I can't find it that's why I need your help.
If you have another idea...
Thanks

Does exactly what you want! Remember to configure it after installing, under Start - Settings - System - Smart Lock.
You can"t do it by changing a registry key. A light application to auto-lock is LockDevice, link (and other applications links) here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550973
or simply use smartlock ... it's the easiest way to lock your device
I realise that this might not help you but, if you hold down the hang up button for 1 sec another menu appears and you can press lock. it also has other functions on the menu like cancelling data connections turning flight mode on etc.
Experts,
Having a password to unluck my HD2 is a must for me.
But it's too mush to "slide to unluck" and then entering my 4-digits PIN , just to put my device in vibration mode.
Is there a way to make it easier , like making the volume control buttons active even without unlocking?
regards,
I'm looking for a cab that do something like the:
"The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: After installing this, you can switch your Herald into Vibration Mode by Comm.button (press an hold in 3 seconds)"
mentioned in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308773
of course if there is a version just for the HD2, that will be great.
found this http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php
it will do for now

Yep, use S2U2 <<HERE>>. This is enables and disables such features.
