Exec as a monitor - VIDEO or VGA IN ?? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Wondered if there is any widget that would enable me to use my exec to monitor the output of my USB OTG hard disk? It out puts A/V from a 3.5mm 4 pole jack (but this would need some sort of capture device which I doubt the Exec could handle) but also a standard VGA 15 pin output.
I think this is wishful thinking...

XDA II Backpack VGA Output

I have a question for anyone who might have a backpack. When connecting the VGA on the backpack to a computer monitor for example what resolution does it output at? Will it be the same as the XDA on a big screen, or will it output at a greater VGA. I would like to use the XDA II as a laptop replacement to surf the web. I would like to hook it up to a monitor and surf web pages like I do with my laptop.
The backpack comes with an adaptor cable (because on the backpack itself is obviously not enough space to mount a standard Sub-D VGA connector ) which allows you to connect a VGA device (such as a CRT or TFT monitor or a beamer) or a video device via either an chinch FBAS or an S-Video output terminal. The supported resolutions on the VGA output are 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480. The FBAS and S-Video output supports 640x480, either in NTSC or in PAL mode.
Is the VGA Back pack for sale anywhere yet?
Thanks

Touch Pro/Fuze to VGA output?

Is there anything like this (http://www.expansys-usa.com/p.aspx?i=145166) for the Fuze? I don't know if it's possible, but getting true VGA output to an external monitor would be awesome.
Thanks for any feedback
The cable specifically made for the TP/Fuze is here: http://www.expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=176590
Don't know if output is VGA -- I have one but haven't played with it yet. Do a search -- several threads here have discussed it.
Thanks for your post. I was thinking more along the lines of the VGA connector (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector) to connect to computer screens, for example. I doubt there is anything like this for the Touch Pro, but I thought I would ask
Yes, but if you REALLY want to connect to it, get it's video cable and a RCA to vga adapter. OR a video card for your pc and you can connect it to your pc. I see RCA to vga adapters for $30-$50 at my local Frys.

[Q]Output to VGA

So, let's be honest....90 % of all beamers require a VGA input (only a few work with dvi-d or usb) Now, the transformer offers the mini hdmi output....how to resolve it as I would like to use my device for presentations...
1)buy a mini HDMI to HDMI cable and then a HDMI to VGA converter (expensive)
2)buy a USB to VGA adapter, which will not work as the tablet itself has no USB interface and if it had one, it would probably not work with Android...
Any other solutions?
Regards,
Tom
i'm responding under the assumption that beamer = projector, so yea, #1 is your only option.
although i question the your whole 90% statistics. most new projectors come with hdmi and dvi now.
but for a mini-hdmi-to-hdmi-to-vga setup, checkout monoprice.com. it'll probobaly run you 10-15 bucks.
I don't need a signature.
Mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter -> HDMI to DVI cable -> DVI to VGA adapter
I think thats the best combo you can get, lets you reuse the HDMI to DVI for something else if you need to and the DVI to VGA adapter is always useful too.

HDMI to VGA/DVI

Hey does anyone know of a HDMI to VGA/dvi adpater that works and can be used to connect the device to a computer monitor.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
any hdmi/dvi adapter SHOULD work just fine....
no clue about vga tho.
It will depend on the capabilities of your display as well though. I have two monitors with DVI inputs (no HDMI in my house yet, sadly) and from what I can gather the reason I can't get a picture on them is that neither of them are new enough to support HDCP. When I hook it up to either, the displays and the A500 detect a connection, but I never get a picture. Using cables recommended from other threads on this forum, and tried three different HDMI-to-DVI adapters, and no success. Just an FYI. If anyone knows any differently by all means correct me
well a friend of mine had an old hdtv and didnt want to unplug any of his hdmi devices, but i tried an hdmi-dvi adaptor, and it didnt work at first, but then he changed the refresh rate on his tv and it worked. I dont know how helpful that will be to you
Plug into the tv first then plug into the Acer. I tried this and it worked. Having cable plugged into Acer A501 first just meant a blank screen. Idid have it Hdmi to Hdmi though...
Took me a go or two to work out....
If you don't mind spending some money (ca. 50 euro here in Germany) you can also try a HDMI to VGA converter. These devices do more than just giving you a dead analog and patched-through digital signal (which is what HDMI/DVI adapters do) and need their own power supply; however, they give you a genuine analog signal and separate audio, both with reasonable quality.
If your monitor is an older model, the problem may well be that it relies on the analog signal to be present... if that's the case, you'll need a converter anyway.

I have investigated VGA compatibility at length and unfortunately there is no way, other than using a converter with a power supply, that you can go from HDMI to VGA i.e. digital to analogue.
Someone told me HDMI to DVI to VGA - but that would never work.

Rikomagic MK808IIIs --> display port ** SOVLED**

Hay all,
I got one of these recently to connect to one of my monitors.
My monitor has a display port not HDMI and I have an adaptor for it this one.
It fits well and all, but my device will not power on when plug in via this adapter, I've seen a few issues with this but cant find a answer if there is one.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Has anyone fixed it or has an idea?
Any help would be appreciated

From displayport.org;
Q: I just purchased a monitor that only has a DisplayPort connection. How can I hook this up to my computer that only has VGA, DVI or HDMI?
A: There is not a cost effective way to do this. The adaptors that are available only work from a DP computer to a VGA, DVI or HDMI monitor and not the other way around. If you have a desktop you can purchase a graphics card with DisplayPort. Our best advice: Before you purchase a DP only monitor make sure you have DP on your computer.
Basically, you can't use the DisplayPort connection on your monitor with ANY device that only has VGA, DVI, or HDMI outputs, without the use of an expensive converter that may not produce acceptable results. Please follow Dave's advice and try to use a HDMI-to-DVI adapter.

Solution was used a HDMI to DVI... or anything else really not a display port
