hi, I'm the new kid on the block and recently have bought a Dopod 838 in China with simplify chinese WM5. Would like to flash it to english and willing to share the rom but need to know how to do it.
Please advise.

Generally, the process for changing ROM's follows two steps. Unlocking and Upgrading the Rom. Find a ROM to your liking on the ftp files in the forum. Download lokiwiz and read up on it to unlock your device for foreign ROM's. Sync device (be prepared for the complete wipe of info) and run the rom upgrade utility. Look in the Wizard Upgrade Forum for more info on the ROM's themselves. Actually, right after you read this, just go to that section anyway. There's a TON more information on this subject that's quite helpful.

Two months ago i buy from internet one qtek s100 MDA from T-mobile unlock in Germany.When i take on my hand i found that all the operation application was in German language and not in English.
Is any one who knows how can i switch the windows mobile 3 program from German operation language to English? What i have to do ?

The link i gave you has an attached pdf file with very well explained process. Many beginners have used this link and have successfully upgraded their devices. There are other threads also.
The process requires some basic computer technical skills. I don't mean to undermine you, but if not done correctly the device can turn into a brick.

I received the HTC TyTN as a gift, but its a Russian ROM. I cannot speak or read Russian well enough to use the unit correctly. I would like to change it into an English "speaking" (menu, etc) device.

Read mrvanx's upgrading guide and you can flash any of the available WWE(World-Wide English) ROMs here. When all else fails, read the wiki

Thanks your reply. I have read both the Wiki and Mrmanx, both informative. However I cannot find (excuse me if I am lame) the specific advice for replacing the hard Russian language ROM with a hard English languare one. Is it there? Sorry, but I am not very good at this stuff. Thanks

The ROM itself is english. It will take care of everything for you.
Just pick an English (WWE) Rom and reflash to your heart's content.

Hi guys,
recenlty I purchased this phone the model is copied from the back of the phone if the batery removed. I have managed to take the raw files (wm6.5 WWE) and create the kitchen. My goal is first to translate it and afterwards to cook the ROM and make it better. But after the extract of the files there are many problems translating it because the manual to translation any rom is a little bit confusing anyone interested to participate or help to the development of this ROm is welcome. I have tried to study also chinese and russian sites on the subject but i got more confused. Maybe because I do not know the language.

Just to let you know I have managed to Translate everything. But I want also to cook things up. Is there anay cooked ROM for dual SIM phone? It could be very usefull.
