Video performance . Any ideas? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
TCPMP and WM used to play video at a resonable frame rate. Now I noticed that both players crawl whem playing video stored in Storage Card.
I watched Tiki Bar TV or Cranky Geeks without a problem.
The only change I made recently was "installing" A2DP.
Could this be the problem?
Video streaming continues to work OK though.
How is your video frame rate for MPEG4 lately?

bad skipping in movies

I have a 2gb micro sd card, so naturally i thought "ill put a movie on it" however when trying to play the movie it skips unbareably, the audio skips the video stops etc.
is this a common problem / is it easy to fix?
i am using tcpmp
herm 100
crc 9.1
thank you
I had horrible luck with TCPMP. For movies now I use a converter to put them into MP4 with XVid and play them back with WMP. No issues and crystal clear.
Did you set it to raw frame buffer?

Click to collapse
I have mine set to raw frame buffer, and have no issues with the picture. Only issue is if I fast forward - the sound skips horribly.
okay i kinda sorted it..
basically the scroll wheel on the side plays a huge part.. when i rotate it it starts to play at full speed :S and no skips but then some weird lag in video/ pixelisation.. trying to sort it
Raw frame buffer causes major slowdowns in video playback for me.
I regulary watch movies or tv episodes on my hermes.
First, have you got the movie in the right resolution? Pocketdivxencoder will convert it down to 320*240 so your phone can handle it easily. I then had the problem that the hermes couldn't support playing the video and outputing the sound over A2DP, and solved this with coreplayer, which unfortunately isnt free, (about £15), but works perfectly for me.
converting it now will post results - thanks for the input guys.

Need help regarding videos on X1

I've tried playing videos in mp4 and wmv format on my x1,but they don't play smoothl, they get stuck.
Can anyone tell me the actual specifications for videos i.e. format, bitrate, framerate etc., so that they can play flawlessly on my X1?
THANKS!!!!!!!!
I second that request. I have tried 15 different converters and a bunch of codecs and i never got good quality with smooth playback

streaming video very slow

hi
im trying to view live TV streams (PBX TV if someone knows it) , they are at 512kbps
they are very slow, the sound is ok but the video freezes up alot
i tried using coreplayer (Qtv GDI) TCPMP and windows media player they all are slow
for example in coreplayer i have 110 played frames and 500 dropped
is there some settings/tweaks that i need to do so i can watch fluid video
or a software that i can use?
thx

[Q] Cant convert videos for playback

I have long since had a problem with converting videos for playbakc on my HD2 running Froyo. I have read numerous guides, tried every codec on the planet, and have used 8+ video conversion utilities, yet every single time my HD2 just says it cant play back the files. It plays the Transformers movies just fine, and any videos recorded with the video camera too. But if I try to rip a dvd or something, it just wont play back.
Can anyone offer any help here? What is likely the underlying problem? Is a codec thing? Are all these conversion utilities slipping in their random codecs chosen by the dev's and none of them are compatible with the EVO video player?
Very frustrating. I have gone through about 60 gigs in failed conversion attempts. And probably running the life of my SD card in the process.
Download Rockplayer from here...
http://rockplayer.freecoder.org/index_en.html
Go for the ARM7 link on the right. It's probably the best player out there for HD2s running Android.
I dont like rockplayer because they put their logo on every video which is annoying. But I tried it anyway and it didnt work.
Finally found an app to encode to HD2 format. Xmedia Recode has a template built specifically for the HD2. But make sure to retweak the encoding parameters, as they are set too low. Namely use H.264 compression, and increase the bitrate to 1500. Should produce a nice 1:1 conversion of whatever you are attempting to convert.
Dude you have no need to set the bitrate that high for a device with small screen, hell a standard 700MB DVDRip isnt even that high a bitrate.
I tried several bitrates in between, and with each gradual increase there was less and less artifacting on the screen. It was especially noticeable during fast scenes with lots of movement.

video app for high frame rates?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows of an android video player app that can handle video's shot at higher than normal frame rates? I just got a gopro, but all the video's filmed above 30fps struggle to play back. I usually use 1440p 48fps, as this gives nice smooth playback and the biggest field of view when i'm skiing. i understand that stuff like this is better off being edited on a pc to get any sort of decent results.....but i'd just like to be able to have a little look at the vids straight from the memory card before i get home too.
so far i've tried vlc, which just becomes a garbled mess, the stock video app which detects it as a sound only file, and mx player which plays back the video in slow motion and plays back the sound in sections (i.e. it will play sound at correct speed, but keep stopping while it waits for the video to sync up). so mx is the best so far, but is there an payer that can actually understand the higher frame rate and play it back at that rate too?
Try the latest vlc nightly. Go into settings and try it with and without hardware acceleration

Have you tried Dice Player?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.a&hl=sv
thanks for the suggestions guys. unfortunately i still have no luck with these players, no matter what settings i used. think i'll have to get used to doing lots of editing first ha ha.
