and the Cingular 8125 blinks orange, which apparently means the phone is sending a "notification" and the screen no longer comes up that allows you to snooze the reminder, or turn it off, etc. Soft reset and the phone comes up alarming like crazy, blinking orange instead of green, and same problem keeps on for an hour or so.
It happened some time after I installed Qusenetsoft News Reader and NetFront 3.3 Preview. I've uninstalled both programs, and still have the problem.
I'm thinking of maybe flashing the device with one of the newer ROM's here, since I'm still running with originals.
Anybody have any ideas as to how to fix this before I hard-reset again?
get CheckNotifications (google it, should get you right to the place you need to be), and use that to remove all duplicate notification items and maybe any other items that clearly don't belong there (be careful, though - there's items in there that should be there).
Other than that.. hard reset
Hi I agree with Zeboxx try check notifications - link to a prev post here where you can download it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=53061
If that does not work try the same feature in sktools - this seems to be better at removing stubborn recurring notifications and has worked for me. Google it demo should do that for you.

Every time i push the "power on" button,
i got this notification error
Cannot execute
\windows\nrdwakeup.exe
what is this file?
Have you any idea why this happens?
thanks
I cant find that file on my JJ, google gives nothing. wierd file... does a soft reset clear it? what apps do you have installed that could relate to power?
Easy to solve:
Download PocketMechanic (www.antontomov.com).
Go to notifications queue module
FIdn the notification that has this path - it will be linked to a wakeup event
delete it
How it got there is another matter - some software that put itself into the queue and didn;t remove itself elegantly. Whilst u r there, remove duplicates (yellow icons) and do this reguarly. Managing your notification queue is ESSENTIAL on the JJ, and anyone who thinks it isn't is missing the plot.

I'm new to the Jasjar and Windows Mobile... can you explain what the notification queue is and why it's important to do this? Or point me to an explaination?
Thanks much,
Brett
@craigiecraigie4
this is in Italian
Bravo !!!!
Grazie !!!
Otimov: Glad it helped.
Brett: Notification queue is/was the primary cause of sh1t ont he XDA - alarm failures, slow downs, can't turn on, popup errors, etc etc.
WM5 SHOUDL have solved it all - but ti hasn;t:
- sddeamon.exe appears as a duplicate entry (within 1 day on a hard-reset JJ) and over a week you'll clock up several of these. Don;t know when the queue is defined as "full", but if u ever reach that you'll not get any new alarms, and loads of trouble b4 then too
- several apps start scriptxxx entries that seem to replicate themselves
- claendar app sticks ALL of ur repeating alarms straight into the queue - birthdays for the next year all entered in advance!
So it goes on. XDA had apps (scarybear etc) that cleaned the queue - BUT these targeted specific issues and DO NOT include ANY of the above. The only way to handle this at present is to manually delete entries using pocket mechanic. MemMaid does NOT enumerate the JJ queue. No other app yet handles this.
So, weekly u should check for :
- sddeamon dup
- \.\\notificatiopn.....script... entries
- any other dups that PM will find 4 u
- anything linked to "on wake up" event that you do not recognise as being something u installed eg eWallet!!! This can cause ur device to sleep and not wake up until u soft-reset - not fatal but inconvenient until u fix.
There will be a LOT more on this issue over time...
Mama mia, what a lot of useful information. But complicated for a new WM5 user.
I had a calendar that did not trigger sound or pop up notifications any more, and after a soft reset I heard all kinds of alarm music, hardly possible to stop.
But I also had E-Wallet installed.......
After a hard reset I also reainstalled E-Wallet as one of the last programs. Do you think I had better wait for an upgrade from them?
Huib
I have recently installed pocketzenphone and magic button as per recomendations here, however I subsequently am having problems with the windows alarm. When I set an alarm it goes off at the specified time but does not bring up the notification screen for me to dismiss it and subsequently itkeeps repeating unless I delete it from the notification queue using pocket mechanic.
Any ideas why this is happening and if I can correct it?
Thanks
I can confirm the same problem with a German T-Mobile MDA Pro.
Do you have the 'Display' option selected in the PZP notification settings for your profile? I think you need to select this as well as 'Sound' and 'Flash' (or whatever you want). The Display option is the bit that gives you the 'Dismiss' button, I think. :?:
this problem occurs without PZP installed here.... but thanks anyway!
Check your notifications queue:
- duplicates of sddaemon
- \.\\NOTIFICATION....SCRIPT... entries
Could b 2 many notifications clogging things up.
Let us know what you find and whether you solve this. Iw ould immediately suspect PZP, but it's interesting that someone else has the problem without PZP. Strike "interesting" - add "worrying"
I have removed PZP and the problem has resolved, I am using the 5.3 version, does anyone know if the 5.5beta version has this problem?
This sounds similar to my problem, i don't have any extra apps installed apart from TomTom, but i get alarms going off that i set previously and have since deleted! How do i stop them??
Someone cann help me:
1. When I make software reset on my MDAPro (Universal) my Universay all time play alarm - about 20 min and then stoped and
2. After then, when I switch on alarm, then (when alarm played) I canot see message to switch off alarm??? And I canot switch off alarm.
Alarm stoped about last 20 minits.
Alarms
Try memmaid (search forums for memmaid and alarm for precise solution)
You need to run memmaid and look at the notifications, and delete the "alarm" ones as they have got "stuck"
Yes, I had this problem also. You can perform a hard reset, that will solve it but then you loose all your data and it is a pain! So I spent all day trying to find out how to fix it without doing a hard reset, and here are the results:
1. Open the Clock & Alarms app, and click on the Alarms tab. Make sure everything is unticked and unselected.
2. Install and launch MemMaid (http://www.dinarsoft.com/ - Note: MemMaid is shareware that expires after something like 30 days, or you might use another app which allows you to edit the notifications queue), and then press the Jump To softkey and click on the the Notification Queue option.
3. Press the Find Duplicate button, and make sure you say yes to deleting all duplicates.
4. Now you have to scroll through the list slowly, you must find all the ones which have this text in them and check the tickbox: \Windows\clock.exe.
5. Now you have located the rogue alarm notifications and ticked them, press the Delete button and confirm in the next step. Make sure you have NOT ticked/selected any other notifications except the clock.exe ones before you do this step, otherwise it can easily make your phone stop working!
6. Soft reset your device. When it has finished booting, you should notice that it doesn't vibrate madly with alarms for 20 minutes like it used to do before, and you should have a flashing green LED on the right instead of orange
7. Stop using the built-in clock & alarms app if you don't want this to happen again - it is too buggy! Find a replacement alarm app, there are loads of free ones out there!
Thanx all! Specialy to sl9
THANK YOU!!! NOW IS ALL GOOD !
What you mean:
"Find a replacement alarm app, there are loads of free ones out there" (I canot see "there" link for free app).
For all:
Which alarm app you use (whithout bugs) ?
1. SPB Clock
2. Chronos for PPC v. 2.95
3. Phonealarm v 1.52
4. Pocket Clock v. 1.15
or some another app ?
I actually haven't got round to finding a replacement yet, but one thing is for sure: do not use the HTC alarm built-in app any more
I am glad this solution worked for you without hard reset, I could not find anywhere else exactly how to solve this problem so it took me literally a whole day of experimenting - but with good results
I recently modified the registry on my ATT 8525 to eliminate the SMS Sent notification message (thanks to those that posted the info here, it's a god send!)
Anyways, during the process I inadvertently modified the wrong notification line and now I do not get any notifications when my alarm clock goes off (other than it going off to wake me up). I can't snooze it or even turn it off though, as the notification prompt doesn't appear.
I now have to turn off the volume, modify sounds/notifications to all off, and wait about two hours for the system to stop activitating the alarm. Needless to say I've missed many a phone call during this two hour "silent" timeframe.
Can anyone tell me where this is and what the setting should be?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmmmm... after looking over the wiki I can't see that you affected anything else in that directory...
Was the change you made in the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings directory???
You might need to hard reset to get rid of the problem (resetting the registry back to stock). But I would wait to see if anyone else here has info that could help you.
I suggest you look around and get the palm threaded sms app (you can warez it well!).... Its the best thing since sliced bread! (Just make sure to change the default mms settings, original .cab was based on sprint network, but its very easy to change)
My two cents...

I don't recall. What I did was change what I thought was the setting. Then I sent a text. It didn't work, so I changed it back and started over. I did this three times. I think I changed something and forgot to change it back? Problem is I don't know what I didn't change back
I really don't want to do a hard reset, but I'm getting to that point. Now my phone alarm won't go off -- I think there are too many notifications back logged. When I soft reset it sounds like it's trying to play 100 alarms all at once
Can anyone else help out?
Indeed it may have happened anyway as the notification queue does get clogged. So before a hard reset you could clear duplicates using the likes of Scarybear Check Notifications (freeware) OR Sktools OR Memmaid neither free but have many other features beside clearing duplicate notifications.
Mike
Thanks for the advice...however, I can remove the notifications HKCU\System\State but it's only temporary. (scarybear does not list that program on their site any longer)
I really need to find out how to get notifications turned back on!
I know it's a reg edit that I missed changing back, I just don't know which one as I didn't realize the problem for a couple of days.
Anyone else have any help? Surely someone out there knows where these notifications are in the registry
Personally I say just take an hour of your free time and hard reset. Make sure everything is all good.
You might also use a program like HTCustom to do the regedit for you next time. That way you won't inadvertantly change anything.
Well I was really hoping to avoid a hard reset when all I need to do it make one simple registry change But it does appear that I may have to do it since no one seems to know where this change needs to take place.
I've probably spent an hour going through the registry looking for anything that could possibly be the alarm notification, but I've had no success.
Thanks to those of you that offered advice, I do appreciate it. Guess it's time to bite the bullet.
My wake-up alarm (a standard one, from "clock" Today went off today as usual, only it did not display any notification bubble or icon. Since then it's in a constant loop, I cannot turn it off, tried settings, several soft resets...Even though all alarms are disabled now in settings, this one is still on.
It may have something to do with Remapesoftkeys (tweaking registry settings) I had used...
Any suggestions guys? Perhaps to tweak back the left soft key to original (to display notifications again)? How to do that (I have Resco Registry, but have never used it).
google for `scary bear check notification` to clean it
Cheers, I've tried pmClear instead
<I got frightened by the scary bear >
but it didn't work for me.
I juggled around with my backups and it's fine now!
On a side note: major P I T A. I just hope it does not happen again, backing up right now, just in case...
i a similar problem on my old Atom a while ago, it was triggered by Battery Pack Pro from OmegaOne, it has some notification enhancement features. Probably not the same issue, just thought it could be something to look at.

FYI, I have noticed it on WM5 and WM6 on imates and htc's. I think is a windows mobile problem.
I never use the alarms ...
