Network mesaage sound in new Qtek 9000 rom - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi,
Recently Dangaard, the official Qtek distributor herein Italy, released a new rom: 1.30.89 ITA.
There is a problem.
My operator use to send many network messages (i.e. when i close a connection it says "data connection stopped").
Well: with this new rom when i receive this messages.. I can hear the NOTIFY sound.. EVEN IF I MUTE the system sound!
It don't cares about the system volume.
So i tryed to deactivate this notification.. But i don't know what to deactivate!
I tryed to deactivate "New message" "New sms".. NOTHING.
Maybe i have to look in the registry?
And where??
I wonder if the problem it's caused by the beta of Agile messager..
Please help me!

I tryed to Hard Reset.. But the probleme is still here! Should i re-flash the rom? Or is it useless? What could be the problem? A corrupted rom file?
Please help me!

1. Try muting both the phone and multimedia sound.
2. Post the extended ROM. I'll try to figure out the cab which has that sound and you can simply skip installing it.

Well even if i mute phone and multimedia.. The problem is still here!
In the registry i found a solution.. but i understand that there is another problem: i can't set the volume of the ringtone by the multimedia volume. The volume of ringtone is always the same! I can only mute it deactivating sound or setting the vibracall!
My extrom is 1.30.177 ita.
I don't know what there is in the extrom!
Do you think i have to reflash? Is it useless?

I re-flahed the new rom and i soft resetted before it begins to install extrom cabs.. Well.. Always the same problem: the ringtone is not setted by the multimedia volume and the network message is notified even if i mute all the sounds!
Is it an hardware problem.. OR IS IT A NORMAL BEHAVIOR?
For the Network Notify i have to delete only a string in the registry.. But i don't know what to do for the ringtone volume value!

I have imate JAMin and the same operator Wind Italia, and the same problem of network notification :-(!!

I have teh same problem too, anyone know a way of turning teh dammned thing off?

Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\InCallBuzz and delete "Sound" (value and string). You should read as value "Notify.wav". Don't delete "(Default)", "Category" and "Scri.pt".
Works for me.
Can you say me if there is the same problem in new aku 3.2?

Using AKU 3.2 that works perfectly !!

custom ringtone playback volume stuck at max!

I have just upgraded my XDA II to
Rom: 1.60.00WWE
Radio: 1.06.01
Ext Rom: 1.60.21
Since this update all my custome ringtones (.mid) ring at full volume when a call comes in or when i playback from the menu to select a ringtone. However the default ringtones play at the volume level set in ring volume properties.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue for me please...? :?
dunno the answer mate but....
why choose midi tones over wav or wma tones?
its like choosing old beep beep tones over polyphonics lol.
get some propper tones instead of polys lol
thanx for replying...
the midi tune i have very good and i do really want to keep it.
when i didnt get any other posts re my problem i continued to investigate. i have discovered that the problem is somewhere in the dangaard extended_rom. if i use the o2 extended_rom i dont have this problem.
the thing is i dont really want to use the o2 rom and would like to keep my xda as generic as possible, as i am not with o2.
do you know what part of the extended_rom contains the comonents for the ringer? i though it may have been the midi.sa.cab but sadly not. i dont really want to have to go through each one and doing a hard reset each time i want to try the next.
any thoughts?
try installing the o2 rom again and go into the file explorer on activesync and copy everything off the device into a folder on your pc...
install the other rom and then try each one ect... that way you wont have to keep going back and forth through the roms
sorry mate i dont ahve a clue
gaz
this is what i am doing at the moment. i want to keep as much of the qtek rom as possible and only use the o2 rom for the part that it causing for the ring tone to be stuck at max volume.
any guesses which .cab mad have the sound file? i will just try them one at a time. i will post my results for any future user with the same problem.
I'm Curious also....
Let us know what your findings are
Well i have solved the problem. the problem was the camerarc131_WWE_1.5.sa.CAB
i used the o2 camera_WWE.sa.CAB instead and the problem didnt reoccur.
i hope thats the last time i have to hard reset my unit...

Ringtone problem...can anybody plz help? :(

Hi everyone,
I got an old HTC MDA recently so I am new to this whole pocketpc world. I LOVE IT already by the way!
I have just installed a dialer skin I found on the web called "The Equinoxe Wizard reTouched" or something.
It looks great and works great, however it has messed up my phone a bit. First of all, the roaming icon showed up after install but I was able to hide it in the registry. Then I noticed the ringtones cannot be changed or played anymore. I use to load up mp3/midi ringtones and now all I get is the annoying roaming ringtone. My audio ones just play silence with NO vibration even if enabled.
I tried uninstalling the skin but it doens't fully uninstall and messes up.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I want to avoid upgrading the rom if possible.
plzz help. I'm hoping just a registry tweak is required or something.
thankss
I just realized it only affects MID files. Mp3 files still work. I'm hoping there is just a MID file support fix.
ringtone problem
Hi crazycage,
I had a similar problem on my wizard. After installing a profiling software I wasn't able to change the ringtone and exit the dialog. I searched different forums and found a solution (at least for my problem). I downloaded a software called "Tuatara WM5 Ringing Delay Patch". After installaing I was able to change the ringtones and save my changes. I tried to uninstall the SW again and the fault appeared again. So installed again: Everything was fine.
So if you want to give it a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258109.

Disable or delete the files from the /programs and /startup directory. that should remove the program from loading.
Or do a hard rest.

Hi. I didn't find any problem with my X1's ring tone. Please don't select mp3 or polyphonic ringtones that has very low recording volumes, because X1 will not be able to enhance the low volume of such tones. Try this tone, like phones.mp3, which i donwloaded from SE X1 site. This tone is very loud for me, if it is not in your phone then there might be a problem.
Note also the position of the speakers in X1, its at the bottom area left and right side, almost to the same level of CALL and END botton. When you are holding your X1 or if it its inside the pouch then the speakers are obstructed, giving you a low ring sound.

REALLY loud ring-tone

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me. I have had a little search around, and still can't find a solution to my problem.
I recently flashed to Oz rom 1.5 , and I'm on radio 2.07.50.27_2.
So basically no matter what setting I put the volume to, my ringtone and notifications are always the loudest they can be (obviously not if its on silent or vibrate) I have tried changing ringtone back to the default one, and its exactly the same. Is there a reg edit I can do? Does anyone else suffer from this?
Let me know your thoughts!
Cheers

You can have it set to have different volumes for system sounds and ringtones.
When you click one of the volume buttons, do you have "System" and "Ring" tabs at the top of the page? If you do, make sure you're on the ring one to set ringtone volume. This can also be done from the "Sound & Display" options on the settings tab.
Hope this helps mate
Thanks johncmolyneux, I've already tried that and it makes no difference. I have it set so there is only one volume control (so system and ringtone volume is combined) ... any other ideas?
Sorry mate, I know that was a bit of an obvious thing to check, but you never know on here
I guess my only advice would be to go back to the ROM thread and ask there. Maybe it's a problem with that.
no prob mate... I have asked there as well and the chef wasn't sure either...
are there any registry things I can check? I was thinking maybe my phone thinks 'level 1' on the volume is actually 'level 5' or something?
its so annoying-scares the life out of me every time someone calls!

Having never had a problem with this myself, I've got no idea where this particular data is stored. It does sound like something that would live in the registry though, so I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help you out. There's some walking encyclopaedias of Windows registry on here! lol
Good luck getting it sorted mate.
any one out there now where in the registry I should look?
cheers in advance!
