is it possable to get a stereo headset to work with bluetooth on windows media?
Yes, if you install the A2DP update. If you look around the Wizard forums a bit you'll find at least one cooked 8125 ROM that includes the A2DP fix.

Before the mishap with the site there was a thread about getting normal system audio (music, video file audio etc...) playing through the bluetooth headset on XDAII & Blueangel devices. Has anyone got any further with this project ? I am hoping to get myself an 02 XDAIIs this week and would like to have this feature (maybe it works in the 02 rom ??!?)
If not I will be able to provide any files from this device (if they are different from others) that could help those in the know figure this one out.
the o2 rom will 99.999% surely have the same bluetooth stack as the other roms based on the 1.72 o2 most likely only added stuff to the extented rom
this headset let you do it but it have a breakout box

I believe your best chance is getting a PDA2K or IIs as they have a much better bluetooth stack. At this point, I haven't heard anyone saying they have transfered audio to a remote device yet.
for me it would also have to be in stereo for music purposes
the profile which does support that is A2DP
not sure if vidcomm stack have that

Hi Guys,
I wanna share something i found out a while ago.
I am currently holding on to a Motorola HT820 and a BlueAngel and i was kinda playing around with it wondering why i cannot answer phone calls and only can play my MP3's. Here is the solution.
Install the A2DP Profile
Soft Reset
Pair it up to your BT Stereo headset using high quality audio
now, upgrade to build 3900.
Run the restartradio.exe
run the bt upgrade cab file
run the restartradio.exe
Now, pair it up to bluetooth handsfree headset.
This works wonders. It seems to work best on WMP10. I have tried
Mortplayer but, after i answer calls, it stops playing and does not resume.
For WMP10, it resumes fine. I have only tested on BlueAngel and HT820.
I dont have the luxury to get my hands on other devices as yet.
BT upgrade files found here

A2DP details found

ENJOY !!!!
this currently works best on WMP 10
You can continue listening to music after your call ends with mortplayer,
you have to disconnect the pairing and re-pair again..
XDAII and Motorola HT820
Hey guys,
I'm contemplating buying a Motorola HT820 but I'm concerned that it might not work with my phone - I have an XDAII with WM2005 1.60A installed. anyone know anything?
Thanks and best regards...
Hi
This sounds like what I've been waiting for too.....
I have an XDA II running 2003SE will this work with this combo any ideas?
Good one... will try it later
Has anyone tried with Motorola HS 850???
Has anyone tried with Motorola HS 850???
So far, i have not tried it on XDAII... but i think it should work..
Can anyone confirm if this is possiable with an XDA II as having read through numerious threads on the subject of Bluetooth implementation with various Wicomm configurations, but cannot clearly identify that the A2DP Protocol can be successfully made to work on an XDA II.
I suspect that this can only operate on an XDA IIi or XDA IIs. My requirement is to get a set of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones to function with my XDA II via Bluetooth, I am not really worried about the Phone Headset function I would just like to hear Audio via Media Player 10.
Thanks
I have just upgraded to 1.40 ROM (iMate) with Orange EXT ROM on M2000. I have radio 1.13 and the A2DP profile loaded.
Everything was working fine with the old ROM and wmp9, but wmp10 does not respond to the pause, back and forward buttons on the ht820.
Does anyone have this working on ht820? Is there a known work around?
Motorola BT820 Audio Gateway and a player
I've followed the steps above and now have the two new profiles and have managed to pair my Motorola BT820's without any problems.
I've read that this works best with WMP10 but since I don't have this I decided to try Mortplayer.
Silly question : How do I get my XDAIIs to send the audio to the headphones ? Their is an outgoing connection between the two but the sound still comes out of the speaker on the XDAIIs.
If a phone call comes in then this is directed up to the BT820's
Help
Jason
i have done over 50 hard resets.. many tries and it seems to be an intermittend prob.
@woodrjh
In this way a HP Bluetooth Headphones and a Motorola HT820 works with my xda IIi in a2dp mode incl. the Buttons in WMP10.
1. remove the RunBT file from the Autostart dir -> softreset
2. Install the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab -> softreset
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/us/download/22475.html
3. Install the HP iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Driver Update -> softreset
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/handheldiPAQ/us/download/22475.html
If the error \windows\btceavif.dll in use come, rename it with Resco File Editor and try again the driver update.
4. Put the the RunBT file back to the Autostart.

does this method enable your bluetooth headset to receive calls?
Where can i find the A2DP BT patch for magician,
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33532
Does this CAB work on the orange (out-the-box stock ROM) M500?
I have tried but it does nothing?!?
I installed it on my M500 when I had it but never got around to using it.
Anyway, it looks like a new version is available, go to this thread for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=52312
thanks but it looks like there is no new version yet, just a description of bug fixes (no CAB).
I tried the original patch, which even though it installs and runs, I can't pipe any audio to my H3 headset, which I'm beginning think does not work for BT audio streaming.
it doesnt work with mono BT headset ...
Has anyone try the bluesoil Stack? does it have headset profile?
I really want every BT headset to have A2DP profile, even the one side one....
I am a bit confused on what these HP headphones can or cannot do. When I look on the HP page, they are touted as the bluetooth headphones for iPAQs. There is no mention of them bing standard bluetooth headphones that can be used with any bluetooth A2DP capable device. I had assumed they were some proprietary profile that HP did on top of BT.
On the other hand, I found the same HP FA303 mentioned all over the place in these forums as being able to work on A2DP with Wizard and simlar devices.
What is the deal here? Are the HP FA303 standard BT headphones? If they are, and they can work with both iPAQs and all other BT devices, then I wonder how they work with iPAQ 4150. I have been looking all over the place for an update to the iPAQ 4150 that would make it A2DP capable. All the forums claim that such a patch is non-existant.
I suppose the bottom line question is - if I get HP FA303, will I be able to use it with my iPAQ 4150, with my TMO MDA (with A2DP patch) and with my PC with BT USB stick.
Thanks a lot
They're the real McCoy with full AVRCP support when used with WMP on a A2DP enabled wizard. Awsome fidelity and volume too. They pair well and are easy to use. The FA303s are the same exact headset as the Logitech MP3 bluetooth and iPOD headsets btw. I absolutely love mine.
Don't install the included software on your Wizard, its not needed but to make it work with your iPAQ, you'll need to install it. The software actually adds the A2DP stack + AVRCP to supported iPAQ devices. I suspect that once that software is installed, your iPAQ will be able to pair and use any BT stereo headset.
Can you use these headphones as a handsfree as well, or are they only for listening to music?
They're only for listening to music unfortunately...
I have a stereo AD2P BT headset, the Abe BT 55F (no built-in mic - speakers only) that pairs sucsessfully, but I get no audio. All audio still comes out phone's speakerphone.
Abe BT 55F Specs here:
http://www.abe-hk.com/english/products/8044/8044.htm
The specs say it supports AD2P stereo, but can't seem to get an audio to play on the headset after successfully pairing it with my XV6700 running a PPCGeeks WM6.1 ROM. I cooked in acbToggleBT 0.8 (Description: Toggles the audio gateway) thinking that might enable the audio. But I'm thinking this might be for mono BT headsets.
I thought AD2P headsets worked pretty seamlessly on WM6.1?
I then tried BTAwm6.cab, another BT audio gateway program, but that didn't work either. I did previously get my now lost "mono" Jawbone to work using BTAwm6.cab, but that was several cooked ROMs ago, so who knows if it would work now.
Anyway, any suggestions?
Maybe I'm just not understanding how to toggle between the phone's speakerphone and the BT headset? I know for some mono headsets, you had to first activate a Voice Command by pressing the headset button. Not sure if that applies to stereo headsets with no microphones (no Voice Command capability).
somewhat working
Ok, I got the audio to work "somewhat". I had to go into Settings, Bluetooth, right-click on the BT device, and choose "Set as Wireless Stereo". Then play an audio file. Duhhh on my part.
Now the problem is the audio is very choppy. I know I read a fix somewhere for that. Anyone? Plays for 1s, then random 5-10s of silence, then plays 1-1.5s
update on A2DP
Update:
The default Microsoft BT stack on my WM6.1 ROM resulted in very choppy audio. Mostly silence. If I paused the music, waited, then clicked play, I'd get 1/2s - 1s of audio. Sometimes none.
The solution after much trial & error (including trying several registry suggestions) was to install Helmi's Universal Broadcomm Stack (Test):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-291639.html
Then the audio was perfect!
Unfortunately, this stack is 7MB when installed and I don't think it uninstalls the Microsoft BT stack, which no doubt also takes ~7MB of memory.
Didn't try installing to my Storage Card, but I assume it would fail since a critical system component. I don't see this popular BT stack in any of the "pre-canned" ROMs. It would be great if I could simply use BuildOS and check a box for this BT stack and uncheck the Microsoft one. Thus, I wouldn't be using 7MB x 2 (14MB) of RAM - only 7MB. Again, just a guesstimation.
Anyone know how I would go about cooking Helmi's Universal Broadcomm Stack and not the Microsoft one using the BuildOS tool? Or do I have to cook my own custom ROM (and read up on how to do that)?
