OK,
My XDA Mini S is on O2 and have recently got MMS working.
I can send and receive MMS messages fine, apart from i cant receive them from 1 person, who is on Vodafone.
I can send her photos, but she cant send them to me, i just get the list of details about the MMS, not the pic.
But she can send them to other people OK.
Is there anything that could be wrong that i could try?
Ta
Try sending a blank MM or one with just text and see if that works. if it does it could be picture type or size, what error message do you see?
Cheers
LB
Thanks for the quick reply.
I sent a blank one and it didnt work.
I get the usual error message saying it cant be downloaded and will remain in my Inbox.
If i open the message i get a list :
FROM : +44777....
SUBJECT :
CLASS : Personal
SIZE : 1K
RECIEVED TIME :31/05/06 16:46
EXPIRES : 03/06/06 16:46
And thats it.
She is on Vodafone with a Motorola PEBL if that makes any difference.
If it is only one user that you cannot get any messages from it could be an issue with the way their number is provisioned or worse and xml issue on the MMSc. Could be a tricky one to resolve, could ask her SP if they know of any issues with this?
Sorry cant suggest anything else
Cheers
LB
No worries,
Thanks for that

Hey
I have a strange problem. I cant reply to a sms. Everytime i try to, a box pops up and says "Cannot send message".
I can send a message, if i create the sms from scratch, but............ thats not the point with a "reply"
I hope some of u guys has the solution.
By the way - its a XDA2 (M1000), from Orange, Denmark
Pleeeeeaase, somebody.......
when you try to reply can you see what nr it's trying to reply to ?
i'm thinking if it add +45 in front or not
Yes, it puts +45 in front of the number. I've also checked that the sms central number is correct (thats why im able to send a new sms).
Rudegar, any other suggestions? I guess youre danish as well
Now i've tried to remove my email accounts as well, but that didn't help either....
SUGGESTIONS, PLZZZZ
i would check if when you send a normal sms if it include the +45
in front if it dont then when you try to reply to removing the +45
and see if that works
I've tried that too. Ive tried to alter almost every setting. Nothing seems to work. I'm running out of ideas. Its getting a real pain...
try going into contacts>>tools>>options. Then, make sure that you have it set to your country, and enter the right area code number. Then click on ok, and it might work. I had some probs with my phone, and I changed this and then it was fine.
IT WORKED!!!! Thanks a lot. Finally i can reply to all those nice people sending me sms.
I actually thought i had changed this setting. but..........
THX
Hope this is the correct forum... if not mods feel free to move it
Details are:
Network: o2 (UK)
Phone: XDA II
ROM: 1.60.00WWE
Radio: 1.10.00
Protocol V: 1337.18
ExtROm V: 1.60.50
I have this really annoying problem with my o2 XDA II, where I cannot reply to SMS messages without a failure.
If I write a SMS from scratch and select the contact from my contacts list it will enter the contact number as "07799123456" and the text will send without any problems.
however if I was to receive a SMS from someone and hit the reply button (like we all do) and send the SMS I get a lovely "Your SMS message could not be sent" and it goes in to drafts. When replying it would eneter the number as "Name" <+447799123456>;
Then if I go in drafts and try to send it will show the same error... and keeps doing it. So I have to CUT the text from the message, do a new message and select the contact again and send it... this was it will send the message.
Why does it do this? and is there a cure for it? Its really, really annoying.
Any help you can give will be appreciated!
thanks!
Steve McKeogh
I have the same problem occationally, for me it looks like th eproblem occurs when replying to a contact which have another operator than mine (Telia).
Message Centre
Hi there,
The problem could be occurring if you receive a message from another network. The issue is with a setting which would say "Reply using same centre". This means that the message you intend to send will go directly to the message centre of the other network. Obviously your message will not go through because you are not on that network! If this setting is disabled on the sender's phone and then you try to reply to his message you would not encounter this problem.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

ah right ok... bit annoying though cos I cant tell everyone I know(who has this setting enabled) to do this. There is a paticular contact it happens to and she always has a "Reply Request" enabled (i.e. on my old T-Mobile T610 it would say the user has requested a reply after i read all her messages). Could that be sumin to do with it?
Cant I change a setting on my XDA to send the message via the usual route it goes with it sends a message from scratch? This would work surely?
Thanks for your help, appreciate it!
Thanks,
Steve M
i have 2 HUGE problems that i am finally sick of
1. when i am writing a new sms and i put who to send to (To: ) and click send it says that i am not sending to another and sends me to my contact list and i have to select the person. i already have a person i am sending to and it says i have to select another person and basically i have to send the same text twice. WTF?!?!
2. when i receive a text and am writing a text or something, i DON'T click send but for some reason it would send it. most of the time this happens BEFORE i actually write a msg and am in the process of going to the text message menu to respond and it just sends a blank text. WTF?!?!
is there anyway to add an option to have you review a text and confirm it before it is actually sent?
bump anyone?

I'm not sure what you mean because I've never encountered problems like those with my Wing. I ran the stock TMobile ROM for about a week and since then I've been playing around with custom mods, etc, and I can't say I've experienced either of those issues. I own 2 Wings (long story); one is 4.10.531.2 WWE and the other was 4.10.531.3 WWE.
Some additional info might be helpful to help troubleshoot your problem and maybe even get that bump. ROM version? Is it a virgin installation (as in, you haven't installed any apps, etc)? Does it *always* happen or is it sporadic?
4.10.531.3 WWE
happens randomly. is there just not a way to have the phone confirm and review a text msg before it is sent?
bumppppppp
I'm on t-mobile and when i get sent a mms it comes up as a text message instead of showing the picture straight away. Are my settings wrong or something? Please help. Btw its an unlocked x1i if that makes any difference.
MMS & SMS are now almost always combined so MMS show like this, just click on the Pic/music note link to see the entire contents.
Oh it's all good now...i just needed to send a picture message myself first.
I've been trying to send a multimedia message (the size is only 46K), but the message keeps going to my outbox and is then returned to the drafts folder after an error message pops up -"Unable to send your message(s). The message(s) will remain in the Drafts folder." Has anyone else come across this? The signal/reception's strong, and the message isn't big, so that shouldn't be a problem either. I sent one yesterday without any fuss, but I'm on my fifth attempt to send one today with no luck.
are your settings good? (are you able to send an other MMS?)
I had something familiar with my 'old' touch cruise, when it wasn't able to send I retyped the message and then it was able to send (or I had to repeat this one more time)
good luck!
Thanks for replying!
I tried retyping the message, again with no luck, and then I tried sending a different message (12K in size) to a different recipient, and it did the same thing. I asked a friend to send me an MMS, which at first I didn't receive. Now, 15 minutes later, everything works normally again, and I've managed to send and receive MMS messages. I guess it must have just been problems with Orange's server. D'oh!
i have the same problem , i received mms but i cant send.
i got a message "unauthorized".
my operator said that he does not know what is the problem.
i am using sim(2G) and not Usim(3G) , i am still waiting for it from my operator .
anyone ?
mms problem !
i have tried to do it with USIM(3g) and still the same problem .
the phone was unlocked from Orange and i am using other operator.
please help !
i made HR and now it is all OK .
