Need some advise.
Evertime I try to connect to the internet using WLAN connection, a screen pop-up is coming out telling me its connecting to my GPRS, although I'm already connected in WLAN. Now, when I cancel the connection to the GPRS the page I'm trying to open won't load.
Any idea why my atom is like that?

When you've got wifi enabled make sure that Settings->Connections->Network Cards has My Network Card connects to "The Internet".
Hey,
I'm using a Qtek 2020i which I believe is the same as a xdaIIi. I have a wireless network set up at home and have managed to connect to it with the built-in Wlan device in my Qtek but every time I try to connect to the internet or send/receive emails it tries to connect to gprs even though it shows wifi is connected.
I have read some of the other forum posts here and many of them say to check that my network card is set to connect to the internet however where it says 'my network card connects to' there is only a blank box after it - no option to choose work or internet??
Has anyone got any advice on how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in avdance.
system->Connections->Connections->advanced
and pick the connection of your cellphone isp as the connection for
programs which use internet access
that is already the case so it can't be that I'm afraid
I am having the same problem with my MDA Vario(KJam).
It tries to connect to GPRS even if i have wireless lan connected
anyone know how i can sort this
thanks
As noted in another post, simply creating a dummy gprs connection created a default conne tion instead of the telco gprs.
:?: Is there are away to tell the device NOT to use GPRS when connected via Wi-Fi? I seems to want to connect with both.

are you sure, that you're connected to wifi? i've never had this problem, but once i noticed that when device is still connecting to wifi network and at the same time you'll try to use - for example - IE, then it will automatically try to connect via GPRS. but when it connect with wifi, IE will use that over GPRS...
I have the same problem too.
Qtek support tell me that , if the wifi connection is poor the gprs connects instead. A small help could be increasing the power to the wifi-card.
But that was not a solution for me...

Yes I am sure I'm connected with Wi-Fi. Sometimes I see connections to both GPRS and Wi-Fi.

as Paltkungen said - when connection with WLAN is poor and it disconnects even only for a while, wizard will automatically try to connect with gprs, without waiting for reestablishing of wifi connection
i even had such situation today in the morning. i've connected with WLAN and then started browsing with IE. after a while i saw that there is GPRS connection active as well! that's because wifi lost connection just for a while, so GPRS took this connection over.
I`ve connected my o2 mini to my network and it should be able to access the internet through it but when ever I try to open a site in IE it immediatyley starts a GPRS connection. I`ve made sure that the wlan is turned on.
Also if I try to connect to a site through gprs I get a page cannot be found msg.
Can anyone help.
I cannot for the life of me find any clear-cut instructions on how to setup the 8525 to use Wi-Fi for Internet instead of GPRS/3G if a Wi-Fi connection has been established. I've been able to connect to my Wi-Fi router but when I try to go to a website it still tries to connect to GPRS/Edge/3G! Help!
When I want to connect to wifi, I use connection manager to connect to wifi, then disconnect, and then reconnect, and for some reason this works.
Otherwise I get the same problem as you do.
Hope this works for you.
