You can make it loop if you want
(Looping Ringtones)
This tweak works perfectly you should apply it to your ppc's:
While playing a wav or midi or a wma as the ringtone the phone has a delay of 3 seconds before repeating, now this is really annoying if you've just created that great wav,wma ringtone, spent time making it loop properly in sound editor or whatever, and then the ppc does the silly delay, well, here’s the fix...
Open the registry editor:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0
Select 'Values'
And modify 'Script' by removing the w3 (eg. change 'av0pw3r' to 'av0pr')
"w3" stands for "Wait 3 seconds" you can make it "w1" or "w4" or remove to make the ringtone loops
Extending Ring
This may sound silly, but how do you edit the registry on the xda, I know how to do it on a PC.
Regards
Charlie
With one of these...
Thanks Bob
Will give it a go.
will this regedit work on xda II ??
cheers
yes it will work on all Pocket PC variants, including XDA2, MDA2, QTek2020, etc... (as long as they're ARM or XScale).
Thanks for that, will give it a go.
now be able to play with all the REG now.
cheers
Just to add another perspective, the amount of time the phone rings is actually a network setting (the time before it goes to the answering service) and can be changed by sending status codes to the service provider.
I'm sure if you google around a bit you will find the answer, but I changed mine from 20 seconds to 40 seconds, which greatly reduced my missed calls.
Surur
Edit: Done the googling for you. Check out this website (Tekguru) with a guide of sorts.
surur - that's a very useful tip - thanks a bunch for that
Hmm, few days ago, I found this reg values in the registry. I try some variations but with no success. I will check it again.
Maybe
a = alarm
v = vibrating
??
So, can I setup my phone, to vibrate periodic, while ringing continous a long WMA? Easyer to notify periodic, short vibrating, and it reduce battery usage I think.
Another question. I like siemens phones, because it plays a signal continously, while the ring-echo tone is hearable. It is good, because sometimes the started call interrupted.
With other phones like XDA, there is no signal while I waiting for the ring-echo tone. Sometimes the initiated call is interrupted, and I waiting for the nothing. The phone not notify me that the call is not completed.... :?
Can I make a Siemens-like tone for dialing?
(Can you understand what am I writing? )
Thank you!

Extended rimg on Orange
Does extended ring work on UK Orange? If so what are the numbers?
Thanks.
i used a wma file for my incoming SMS, but when a message arrives and i am reading it, the wma file just keeps playing. Can i set this in such a way that when i open the message, the music stops?
thanks
here is the documentation on how to set ringtones
i checked msdn , but couldn't find anything about the 'script' values this doesn't mean it isn't there, maybe I'm temporarily blind.
I would like to have my ringtone Vibrate then loop without pause with increasing volume, so i tried all the possibilities in phone settings and checked the registry :
Code:
script for ring : apw3r
Increasing ring : c50apw3c150r
ring once : p
vibrate : av3w3r
vibrate and ring : av0pw3r
Vibrate then ring : v3w3apw3r
so as far as i could figure out :
v3 stands for vibrate 3 seconds and v0 stands for Vibrate continuous
p stands for play
w3 stands for wait 3 seconds
c50 sets the volume to 50 ? and C150 adds 150 ?
a & r are used as begin loop & end loop
so my final script is v3w3c50apc150r which means
1) vibrate 3 secs
2) wait 3 sec
3) set vol to 50
4) play
5) add 150 to volume
6) repeat from step 4
I'm not exactly sure about the volume settings, but it works (as long i don't change the phone settings thru control panel)
hope this helps anyone

Nice M4io, I'll try that. thanks bro.

You can change the script in the registry. However, whenever you open the Phone Setting and click OK (since there's no Cancel button), the new setting will overwrite your modified script.
I like staccato vibrating while ringing normaly.
Like this:
Code:
ring: -------------- -------------- ------------
vibr: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I tryed some code variations, but didn't work.
In my Phone Profiles you have "staccato" vibration. I named it: pulsed vibrate. Both for rings and sms alerts.
I know that many users have problems with my Phone Profiles, but also I know how many users use it without problems (believe me: more). I still improve my softeware and make modifications and fixes. The problem depends from another software inside your hardware. Most of them are because IDCaller is inside the default OEM system in some hardware and users cannot remove this program. Alternatively you have not to use a advanced features from my software.
I give a free trial version to check how it works with your phone.
Hi every one.
So i set "button lock" and also disable mainly all notifications but every time a new sms arrives, the screen goes on.I will like to keep the screen off because if you carry your magician in your pocket and after that sms arrives, you can accidentaly press any button or even touch the screen.
I been checking every thing i could check but i can´t find the answer about this problem.
Thanks in advance.
Third party software Pocket Zen Phone or phoneAlarm.
Ok i´ll check it and see what i can do.
Cheers mate.

There are many occasions the Magician turns on its screen. Rather than trying to find and disable all these, I copied TPDisable.exe and TPEnable.exe from the original Extended ROM into my Program Files folder, and then assigned them to a hardware key (using Hotbutton, so that I can use the same key for both).
As the name implies, TPDisable disables the touchscreen (not the display!), and TPEnable re-enables it. So, before I put my Magician into my pocket, I now disable the touchscreen (one press of a button). That still leaves the keys active, true, but I found that normally the touchscreen is much more likely to be the culprit when strange things happen on your Magician while it's in the pocket, and turned itself on.
Cheers
Daniel
@ tadzio
Well,that is a very interesting solution,but i can´t find TPDisable.exe
or TPEnable.exe inside my magician.I need a bit more info from you
Daniel.
Thanks a lot for your replies.
What happens if you hold down power button for 2 seconds to switch off backlight? Does the light still illuminate on receipt of sms?
@ cruisin-thru
I can´t see the point of your question, mainly because the thing i am looking for is to "switch off" my Qtek like a normal mobile phone,i mince buttons locks and screen off when a new sms or incoming call arrives and when you push power button for example, then screen go on and also release the lock of the buttons.
Any one can say that then i can use deltalock.I did it but the battery live is going down very quick.
Screenlock is not working properly also,i will say that Deltalock is 95% a lot better than Screenlock.
And finally, why microsoft is developing this OS without fully screen off selectable option???. Who knows!!!
Cheers

Both programs are in the Extended ROM. Most users have made this visible (though not writable) by performing a Hard Reset, and immediately after completing the initial screen adjustment and mini-tutorial and before the device starts installing programs, a Soft Reset.
If you do not want to do a Hard Reset, search this site's FTP server for Magician Extended ROM downloads. There were a few there last time I looked.

Daniel
Well, after config hotbutton to TPDisable and TPEnable i can´t enable the screen and hardware buttons.
TPDisable is disablind the screen but also all the hardware buttons ( with and without button lock at settins),even the power button.
I use same hardware button for TPDisable and TPEnable ,is that correct or i am doing silly things?
If I arrive an sms the screen is switching on and after a few seconds switching off again if I don't press any key or tap the screen!
It's a changeable registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / System / CurrentControlSet / Control / Power /
WakeupPowerOff =12 (the default is 180)
DisableGwesPowerOff=0 (the default is 1)
If you switch on the Jam (power button) need to press some other key too, because it switches off after 12 seconds!!!
by Avers
@avers
Well that is another solution but i insist that there should be an easiest way to keep the screen fully off when a new sms or what ever arrives, including hardware buttons off ofcourse.
Any suggestion more?, perhaps at the end and betwen all of us ,we can find the solution.
Cheers.
I think the best solution is third party software like PHONEALARM,
it's easiest way to get main tweaks of Pocket Windows.
get it there
http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.htm
Well my friends, pocketzenphone is not doing what i am looking for.
Next step is to try phonealarm, but probably will work the same way as pocketzenphone, leting the screen to go on every time a new sms arrives.
Sorry for my languaje but F... microsoft and F... devil gates.
As you can read on this post ,phonealarm IS NOT doing it.
http://www.pocketmax.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=429
phonealarm has option named "Don't activate backlight on alarm"
ALARM there means any event, that needs notification.
now i am understanding, that it is some differ that you need.
also i advice you make some registry tweaks to make a very short backlite time when sms arrives.:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\WakeupPowerOff = 10
this timeout in seconds. is used when our device self power on, when SMS arrives or we push the POWER button and do nothing anymore
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\DisableGwesPowerOff = 0
this key is enables this power control system (necessarily change it, or first key will not work)
after the editing registry you need to reboot PDA.
sorry for poor english, i translate text from russian.
if you want to use online translator i can give you original URL

Thank you for your reply i will try like you and others point out and also will keep looking for that utopic soft.
deltaLock locks the screen and buttons even if you get sms or calls. I use it on my JAM and it works so far.

If you read one of my post ,you will see that i allready said that Deltalock is working but it is KILLING the battery live very fast and when i say VERY FAST it mince that you will get almost 6hours against the normal live (more than 15hours).
Cheers mate.
I think if you keep your ppc on all the time you will get this battery life. Anyway I think deltaLock is for keeping your PPC on and having screen and button lock, not having it in suspend mode and not allowing the screen to power up. Sorry about that, seem to have misunderstood your post.
Don´t worry mate, at the end we are all together trying to find a solution to this microsoft silly programing, any comment and any new idea is wellcome.
Cheers.
Hey,
I would like to upgrade to the TyTN but I need to known if the is any issue with the phone like it was on the Universal.
When someone calls you does the TyTN ring straight aswait or does it start ringing after3 or 4 ring like it did on the universal.
Is the screen aligment on the TyTN been sorted out?
Is they any major problem with the device?
Well it run TomTom Navigator 6?
Cheers for any input.
Thanks

I have found that there is a ring delay of 1 ring on my Tytn (Vario II). I too had the Universal on trial with VodaUK and the delay was excessive.
The screen alignment issue is only a problem for me if the phone get excessively hot (such as the time I left it near my laptop fan) other than that is works reasonably well.
I have tried TT 5.10 and it ran well.

there is an option in Tweak2k2 program is "Disbles 3s delay in Ringtone", i didn't try it yet, please test
sorry about my english
i have the tweaks2k2 program installed and the 3s delay is ticked......but when someone calls me there is still a delay of one ring only and then the phone wakes up on the second ring........
and yes tom tom 6 will definitely work.....

I think the value varies depending on the settings you have for ring tone, I have "vibrate and then ring" and my default value was "v3w3apw3r". I've been plying with the values and ringing myself after each change, this is my conclusion:
The first '3' specifies the vibrating time before the phone rings, the second '3' specifies the delay after the phone stops vibrating and the ringtone starts playing and the third '3' specifies the delay between repeated ringtones. Correct me if I am wrong
errr.... forget my previous comment, I was wrong but Google told me the truth:
Change ringtone/vibrate/LED flash characteristics
If you would like more control over how your device rings/vibrates/flashes its LEDs on events, you can can change the Script values of these events. For example, for an incoming call performing 'activate device, play ringtone, wait 3 seconds, repeat':
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script = "apw3r" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
For performing 'active device, set volume to 33%, play ringtone, set volume to 67%, play ringtone, set volume to 100%, play ringtone (no repeat)':
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script = "ac33pc67pc100p" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
The following are the full codes available to you. Please note that all the codes are executed simultaneously except after a ringtone play / wait code. E.g. 'v1p' will vibrate and play at the same time, while vibrating for 1 second. But 'pv1' will play the ringtone through all the way first, then start vibrating for 1 second.
a = activate device
cN = set volume to N in percentage max volume
fN = flash notification LED for N seconds
p = play ringtone. Note that this will play the ringtone all the way through before continuing with the next code.
r = repeat. Note that this should be the last code in your Script string, if used at all.
vN = vibrate for N seconds
wN = wait for N seconds. Note that the device will wait this long before continuing with the next code.

So according to the data given,
The phone activates and rings. There is no delay between.
...yet there is a decent amount of delay before the device rings on this end.
I don't have tweaks2k2 but it seems it doesn't do any better anyway...
See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258109
I want to get rid of the delay, but I'd like to be able to use PhoneAlarm and they probably aren't compatible.

This fixes this problem. The ring delay is a common problem regarding the power/wake up status of the phone. The fix corrects it.
Download tweaks2k2 from www.tweaks2k2.com, and you will have an evaluation copy which will work for three goes. I recommend you purchase if you're happy with it, it's a great tool, and so many uses! The writer should be rewarded.

Hello xdadevs!
I made a "quick and dirty" utility to cycle the sound profile every time it runs. I did it to use it with my rlToday setup.
To install it: unzip and put the .exe anywhere on your device.
To use it: just run it. No GUI, no settings...
The program runs, checks the current sound profile and activates the "next" one. The sequence is: "On" >>> "Vibrate" >>> "Mute" >> "On"...
Disclaimer: Probably, there is already some other utility with the same functionality. But anyway, I already developed this one... why not share it
The prog is quite sloooow (blame it on the .netCF, and my boredom to fiddle with CE c++ right now). No warranties are provided, running it is your own risk
have fun!
Thanks a lot.
Great utillity! Thanks for sharing! Works perfect!
It's a good tool! Thanks!
great.... work fine for my trini with nikito rom
Can you make one that works like this:
Vibrate - if sound = 0 -10 volume, switch to vibrate.
Max Volume - If sound = vibrate, switch to 10.
Silent Volume - If sound = 0 -10 or vibrate, switch to 0.
This should take care of the WM6.1 bug and help us all...
You will have to add some type of GUI with settings:
- Vibrate
- Silent
- Max
- Run at startup in background
- Etc...
Hi!
I want to assign it to a button where it just functions as MUTE and nothing more. Is it possible?
thanks in advance

## TamerSpClock v1.4 ##
Last update 13 Dec 2008
"TamerSpClock" is a Windows Mobile 2003/5/6 software which lets you take hand over your time to the max. It is a fully customizable speaking clock & a chimer.
- you can choose a THEME of time intervals of 1 ,5 ,15 ,30 or 60 minutes ,Then you can choose actions to be done on these choosen theme intervals.
- you can adjust when to speak time or chime and when to mute in a way that differs from other programs by means that you can set multi portions (intervals) of time that mute the program automatically for daily use. you can access the file "Validity.ini" found in the folder named "settings" inside the program installation path. this file can be edited by any notepad or word (pocket or pc word) then you can specify at what hours to work on and what to mute (just Change validity = 0 corresponding to hours that needed to be muted & Change validity = 1 to the rest of the hours).
- The program can wake up the device without waking up your screen conserving your battery life and will chime even if the ppc is sleeping or in a deep sleep, The software have a feature that can force the screen not to wakeup (BlackMe feature) at chiming times or (if you choose to) to leave it to the current windows mobile configurations (settings) to decide ,this is useful for some ppc that wakeup the display on every chime which may have negative results on battery life.
- you can put your own wav files to be chimed ,just insert them in folder "Wav" found inside installation directory but use the same names of course.
- This software differs from other similar products in that if you choose for example 15 minute iterval for speaking the clock ,it wll activate itself and speak time on whole miute numbers like 15-30-45-60 and will not just repeat the choosen interval starting from the time you switched it on which results in speaking times like 4:52 and 7:27 etc.
- you can choose or omit salutations like "the time is" & "Am ,Pm" & saying "Oclock" at the whole number hours. this can be customized using the provided links to enable and disable the action features.
- you can choose whether to use vibration or no with the chiming process.
- you can stop all software processing events by one finger click.
- Software will automaticaly activate itself and work again after any restart of the device.
- you can set an action like signal check to work with Themes (feature to check signal strength every x time) if the signal drops ,it will announce you with an alarm ,this feature only works if the phone is on and the signal is less than 40%.
- you can set an action like Zekr which can help Muslims remember their Lord every 5 minutes with a low volume sound saying God is the most Great. This option acts solely without dependency of the choosen theme interval since it have a fixed firing every 5 minutes (take it or leave it).
# How to install Cab file of TamerSpClock:
1- For versions prior to v1.4 you must download MortScript from the following link
(Version v1.4 & above already have it embedded inside software)
http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?mo...=view&entry=65
This software acts like an environment for "TamerSpClock" to work. please note that "TamerSpClock" cannot run without installing this software.
2- Transfer cab to any place on your ppc using active sync or any other communicating software.
3- Choose whether to install to Device or to MemoryCard ,It is very important to choose the installation target location during the setup process corresponding to the version you downloaded whether it is on memory card or on phone. Note that program is hard coded ,this is why this point is very important for the program to work.
4-For Version v1.4 & above before running program ,press the icon named "RunFirst" prior to run the program (This acts as if MortScript Cab is installed)
This software had been tested on HTC Tytn & found stable ,Also can work on any windows mobile device.
I have been looking for an hourly chimer that does not wake up the screen. The disappointing thing about this one it it is hard coded to run from the storage card. Can this be modified to use variable paths?
One issue I have with installing to the storage card is Windows Mobile unmounts the card to save power on some devices. I also change my card based on what I am doing. I keep my maps on one card and my MP3s on another.

Added 2 versions ,one if you want to setup on the Phone Main Memory & the other for Storage Card.
This really sounds great - but how to use it?
I am no expert in programming or in mort scripting.......

But no speaking clock, only those alert, when signal drops.
It should check every minute.
What do I have to enable/disable for that?
And how to let it run, when my touch is sleeping?
Thanks!
I'm using a TyTN II. Great software.
Like to feedback that when I was using my bluetooth headset, when the phone is off (no display), announcing (audio) could be heard and vibration. When I don't use the bluetooth headset (bluetooth is off), and phone is off (no display), I don't hear any announcement and there is vibration only. If I turn on the phone now, I will hear the end part of the time announcement.
Is this normal?
Thanks.

Zard .. if you enable the black me feature the speaking clock can be capable of walking up the device to say time at chosen theme points without walking up the screen. So i advice you to enable the blackme feature as long as the phone is in your pocket. if you are using the phone for an instance or a period of time you can disable the blackme feature since when you are using the phone the feature will be annoying.
in some devices (devices differ in reaction to wakeup) the phone cannot wake up to say the time if it is sleeping ,this is why i made the blackme feature. So the solution is to enable it.
Also if you go to programs menu in the start button you will see a pack on enable & diable features. you can choose what ever you like to enable and what to diable.this features can be clicked (enabled or disabled) & once confirmed you will notice that it will be active wherever any theme is choosen. iam sure that the blackme feature is able to walking up the device to say the time whether your device is in sleep or deep sleep.

Kino-Kino .. first of all open the start menu programs ,you will find 2 folders ,one is named enable & the other named disable. now you are ready to open each and click what ever features you like to be enabled and whatever to be disabled.
At this time you are ready to go for the Theme selection which means at what intervals you want the choosen features to fire ,you can try the "01M" which means that the software will fire every 1 minute to execute the selected feature (or features if you choose others).
For example ,if you want only the signal detection feature ,go to disable folder and click all features to disable them all ,then go to enable and only click the shortcut named "Signal".
Once done .. every 1 minutes (since we choosed "01M") the phone will execute the selected feature (or features). in some phones the system cannot walkeup itself to execute the so called notification tasks at given times if it was in "Sleep" or "Deep Sleep Mode". So you can check your phone reaction to such notification tasks.
To make sure we are ready to go ,you must check first that your phone registry key when the phone is on and receiving signal looks like this :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Phone] the value of "Cellular System Available" must be 65
to do this test just download Fred Taskmanager free from this link
http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
once downloaded install it ,open it and go to RegEdit tab and go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Phone] & check for "Cellular System Available" number .. it must be (65) i mean the number between brackets.
If this is the case ,the program will correctly do the job. but if it isnt (may vary from phone to another) ,then this number must be modified in the software to read correctly ,Go to program installation folder " \Program Files\TamerSpClock\Data\Signal.mscr " rename the file "Signal.mscr" to "Signal.txt" then open it by any notepad or word ,then check the line "if(%PhoneActive% = 65)" and change the 65 to be like the number that you found for your phone in the normal signal state. Do not forget to rename it back once finished to "Signal.mscr".
Thanks
Thanks going to test on my lovly hima.
Thank You for Your reply!
I think, there could be a problem:
The reg key, You mentoned, does have different values.
If I am connected to a "GPRS" network, it is "1".
If I am connected to an "EDGE" network, it is "8".
And if only phone is active, but no internet-connection, it is "1".
So what should I take?
Thank You!
EDIT: There is another key called "Radio ready state" with the value "31".
And all value are "0" when radio is off.

The reply is that you take the number between brackets on the idle state without conecting to any network ,because the idea as you can see from the code that there is 2 conditions must be fullfilled to fire the signal alarm which is 1- if the signal in the idle state be so and so and 2- in the same time signal drops to so and so ... Bingo ... fire
So ,now you got the idea of the code & can now modify it to fullfils your needs ,and you are ready to put your constants that reflects the state where you want spclock to fire. wishing this could help .....

Zard .. if you enable the black me feature the speaking clock can be capable of walking up the device to say time at chosen theme points without walking up the screen.

Dynomite232 ,Kindly feedback whether the mortscript program didnt run on diamond or the TamerSpClock itself. i didnt expect this to happen from the Diamond of a VGA screen since my software didnt realy have a User Interface Menu ,its only shortcuts. In addition that Mort do support any windows mobile device.
Thanks again helping me, I think, I start to understand what Your mortscripts are able to do!
But I have to ask once more:
So I have three different scenarios, when I would get that signal-alert:
1 If Cellular Systam Available is "8" AND signal drops to less than 40%
and
2 If Cellular System Available is "1" AND signal drops to less than 40%
and
3 If Cellular System Available is "0" WITHOUT checking the signal strength
So would it be possible to edit the Mortscript this way?
Thank You!!

Kinio-Kino for your described situation the case will be as follows (copy & paste what is below between the # signs to replace what is inside Signal.mscr ,you can find this file inside a folder called Data inside the program folder inside Program Files)
###################################################################
ErrorLevel ("syntax")
SignalStrength = RegRead("HKLM", "System\State\Phone", "Signal Strength" )
PhoneActive = RegRead("HKLM", "System\State\Phone", "Cellular System Available" )
if(%PhoneActive% = 0)
PlaySound "\Storage Card\Program Files\TamerSpClock\Wav\Signal.wav"
endif
if(%PhoneActive% = 8)
if (%SignalStrength% < 40 )
PlaySound "\Storage Card\Program Files\TamerSpClock\Wav\Signal.wav"
endif
endif
if(%PhoneActive% = 1)
if (%SignalStrength% < 40 )
PlaySound "\Storage Card\Program Files\TamerSpClock\Wav\Signal.wav"
endif
endif

You can now Download the latest version v1.03 ,I build a new user interface for this software instead of the icons .Before Uninstalling Do the process of "StopingAll" feature then make a new Install to v1.03.
.
Hi,
first, thank You again, its working now as expected, great!!
The new Version 1.3: Both cabs get installed to the main memory, maybe something went wrong with one of them?
And one more question:
When my phone is sleeping, I dont get those signal-alerts.
So You have Your blackme-feature:
How could I handle that, to get the hardware-buttons locked, when blackme is active? I have a HTC Touch.
Thank You!

kino-kino ,Welcome again & thank you for your feedback. The Cab file targeting the storage card have been updated in the main thread page.
you are asking now about 2 subjects ,the first one concerning the signal alert didnt fire during deep sleep of the phone ,i think you might try to make the speaking clock feature active along with the signal alert feature ,maybe it will wakeup your device to fire at the specified times, of course if its voice is annoying to you can try deleting the clock wav files but leave of course the signal.wav without deleting. I wonder this happens to you although my Htc Tytn wakeup and fire Signal Alerts at specified times.
The second question can be solved simply by downloading "HomeScreenPluPlus" from the following link:
http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_batterystatus_xda_neo_wm5_im_cs.htm#Download
This software is free and have a feature in the second UI page of options that lock your device when the screen is off and vice versa ,see this pic for explanation.
Thanks for your great app, but I have troubles with BlackMe feature. If this feature is disable, my phone doesn't speak, vibrate only. But if it's enable, it turn off the phone screen when speaking time. That's annoy when I'm doing something on my phone, especially while downloading a large file, it interrupts the wifi connection and I have to re-download from beginning. Any solution for that?

yes i know hung_ng ,i made the blackme feature as a separate item in folder links so that you can assign its icon to a hardware button to be easily accessed so that when you are using your phone you can easily deactivate BlackMe.
This annoying feature (from my point of view as you eaxactly) is essential in many phones ,as the system cannot wakeup the device from a deep sleep to do the choosed actions. the blackme feature (also known as "ToggleDisplay=1") force the phone to wakeup to fire the action. if it is disabled many devices will fall in deepsleep without being able to wakeup. the last version 1.3 have this separate shortcut that i explained.
Another idea i made in my Tytn and made me feel comfortable is that i made my telephone sense when a specific window is open ,the blackme is disabled automatically and when i close this window it reverts automatically to be enabled. for example i made RescoExplorer2007 window when it is opened the blackme is disabled & serving me while i work ,and once i finish i close Resco and automatically blackme returns active and conserving my battery life.
Sorry for being long in my explanation but if you are interested in the idea ,i can make a version for you that is capable of deactivating BlackMe once a specific window is opened. i am not a programer ,i am an Architectural Engineer that once upon a time needed this software and didnt find a really satisfying one available all over the internet ,so i decided to learn Mort Script and i write a one satisfiying my needs and by the way i think that it might help other people who might need it as me.
