Hi guys, i know this sound a bit stupid but i'm having problem installing games in my atom. i have this file with .PRC extension but i dunno how to execute it. Can any of the experts help me out on this? thanks a lot!
.prc are mobipocket eBook and not some games.
PRC are Palm stuff. Mobipocket uses PRC because it use to be written for Palm devices. And when they shift over to Windows system, they keep their tradition.
No, you can't install PRC stuff in WM5. They are for Palm. If you have a Palm, just copy it into the SD card and you will be able to see it on your Palm, or use Palm's quick install.

Palm Games are NOT compatible with the Microsoft OS on your magician.
There are lots of games for your device however.

I've come across plenty that will read the MS .lit eBook format, that are for WM2002/3, but none that claim to be WM5 compatible.
I tried to install the MS's own reader, but it wouldn't run....
any recommendations....?

MS Reader works on my JJ but it can't be activated therefore I can't use it to read encrypted ebooks
I can run the installer, and it claims to install correctly, but when I run it it just says there is a missing or inaccessible file...please reinstall....
Having said that, looking at the .inf file...'Pocket PC using ARM'...maybe rhat explains why it won't work!

Also MobiPocket reader (google for beta 5 VGA version) but then u have to use CLIT to convert lit to pcr files.
Is there a working version of the acrobat reader for windows mobile 5?
My imate Jas-jar came with Clear Vue PDF viewer included. I think it is bundled with WM5 however it does not appear in the programs folder. Try opening a pdf file, and I think you will find it opens in Clear Vue .
ClearVue doesn't seem to open about 75% of my files, which were all created on highest compression... Gotta find a better alternative. I had Picsel on my Palm before that was awesome.
ClearVue is on the companion CD, you need to install it manually.
ClearVue is the most ****ty pdf reader I have tried so far and was the initial reason why I asked for adobe acrobat reader for wm5 in here.
How about adobes own with a VGA hack for force it to high res? this is what i use.
can you be more specific about that vga hack ? Also; iahev tried to install adobes acrobat reader, but had no luck ....

Have a look at a program called Styletap - apparently it allows you to run Palm OS apps on Windows Mobile v5.
I haven't tried it yet, but I used to own a palm with a few progs so I might give it a go.
It might help you run your old Palm reader.

That is the only one, work with the Universal.
All other Lang. are not working !
If it freeze during start, tap sometimes on screen,-it will works !

Got to go with the Adobe version - sure its bloated and takes the usual age to load each time you start it fresh - but it beats clearview hands down

Bloated? It takes a couple of minutes to load for me!
Gimme a PDA version of Foxit, and hurry up 'bout it!
It took 15 secs to load on my Exec. Not great but at least it can actually read PDF documents unlike ClearVue.
Adobe reader for pocketPC v2.0 work well on my o2 mini.
If I can remove some plugin, it could be smaller in installation. Anyone can help which files to remove? Thanks!

Of cource i am looking for something better that could open all sorts of books like all of us.I stumbled upon this post and I see your issues.I must admit thet the embeded clearvue Pdf(if I'm right) suks and I never used it.Also I downloaded the Adobe 2.0 when I got my Jasjar,just to realize theat IT HAS 14 MB!!!.A lot .And loading ...and loading...
Anyways,I owned before mj jasjar an Ipaq and had adobe 1.0 on it.So I installed it on my partner(Jasjar) and it works wonderfully for me.
Opens up in seconds and does all that needs to get a book or a document.
I'll try to put it up here someplace. Let's see if I can figure it out.

Great!!! finally something that works from a sd card without tinkering with. By the way - it works to some degree on qtek 8500 with wm6 as well. I tried it with opera - no problem at all and great.
Bombus - the jabber client - problem!!! doesn't use all keys - direction and input. Other miscallenneous programs - input problem. To be expected though, it was made for different software.
Not a major problem though. The JRebeiro_EsmertecJbed3d works from sd card as well - install and just move the big exe somewhere and it will run ok. The files will be stored in the main memory though. To be exact in the appdb dir in windows folder.
I decided to keep the new version - for instance in bombus the text is actually written you just can't see it. if you switch the t9 on and carefully write your login, pass and server, you can even use it. However, it is only just usable, I don't really use it often, in favour of Agile, so I can live with it.
Never mind, I don't know what was worse my laziness or the stupidity of my question. Sorry for taking up threadspace

problem with Opera 4.1 trusted release and this update
Is anyone having problems with this and Opera 4.1 trusted midlet? I am experiencing the following:
Everytime I try to use autocomplete and type an address, when I press a letter it repeatedly makes the same letter. Also using the fast scrolling feature with numbers 2, 4, 6, 8 does the same thing except for without the letters. It just keeps scrolling by itself! Any one else experiencing this and is there a way to fix this?

The only one I've found is uBook, but the site seems to be down for the past 3 days.

Yeah, I installed mobipocket but unless i'm going daft, it wouldn't show the RTF files I have...I really don't want to go throught the effort of converting formats...so i'll probably wait till the uBook site is back up unless anyone else has an reader recommendation
