I followed the automated overclock instructions on running my Omap overclock automatically all the time with Memmaid. It seems to do just fine, but every so often, it all of a sudden reverts back to the stock speed of 180. Can anybody help me with what is going on?
Thanks!
Seems to happen when you manually put the device into standby with the power switch - if you automatically let it go into standby should never happen. But read all through the overclock thread you can read other users woes there - but i think this is often the cause.
Thanks Mark!
So how does it go into manual standby? Just by pressing the top power buttone once... or do you have to hold it down?
Anyway to disable that?
Download the program from this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=41060
It has a feature to reset the overclock automatically after wakeup.

I try to use psHutXP.exe to shutdown my dopod 838Pro in 2AM, but it seems that the unit is not shut-off, it only goes to standby. Does anybody has software that can shut-off the Pocket PC (for power savings and disturbance while sleeping)?
Thanks
maybe you can try one of the various software that controls radios [cellular, bt, wireless]: PhoneAlarm and PocketZenPhone come to mind and schedule the Radios and Sounds to be OFF during the time you are resting. Having both the Radios and Sounds off will save some battery life. Dunno if there is a way to turn of the device completely and schedule a wake up after. Hope this helps
I have PhoneAlarm installed and it is actually having schedule to do "OFF" radios but what I need is to turn off for power savings and resetting the device to refresh the memory............ thanks for your reply
if you have spb backup you can set it to backup and do a soft reset afterwards [or there are other apps that can be used to schedule a soft reset] so that leaves you with the problem of complete shutdown...
Why not just press and hold the power key? You'll eventually be asked if you want to shutdown.
V
i think he wants it automated.
Sorry, my bad. I'll try to write it. Dissected the app before but the built in one was nice so no need.
V
Yes, it should be automated, totally power-off at set time (say 2AM) - no power more saving energy and it serve also as reset all application during start. - Thanks
we had a thread that dealt with making your phone reboot nightly.. i know you want to power off, but this may give you some ideas..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285974
I think the shutdown app is using an undocumented coredll.dll call. Will try to figure it out.

Thanks I hope someone do a utility for that..............
Hi everyone
I have a strange problem since a couple of days. If turn my HD2 off (standby) the wifi connection remains alive. This naturally is a massive battery drain and the only thing I can do, is to manually turn it of whenever I don't need it. Does anyone have a solution for this problem.
After this problem appeared I thought I might have accidentally turned on the WiFi Standby tweak in BsB Tweaks. It appears turnoff in BsB Tweaks. So I thought I might try turning it on an then off again to clean up the registry, but I don't seem to be able to turn it on so it sticks. I'm thinking maybe BsB Tweaks isn't actually showing whether it's turned on or not. Does anyone know the reg-key concerned, so I can check manually whether it's turned on.
Thanks for your help

I have exactly the same problem. Have you found a solution?
I had this problem today where it constantly kept trying to connect and my battery went from 73% to 4% within a few hours, even though i selected cancel.
do you have bsbtweaks installed? there is a tweak in there that lets wifi stay on when on standby, perhaps that is active?
this is not issue this is normal , as they make the end key closes the screen they should have stretched the wifi turn off time after standby so wait from 2-3 minuites after going to stand by and you will find it closed automatically

it was doing exactly how you say before, but it now never disconnects. I keep forgetting to turn it off and it's such a battery killer. "keep wifi connection in standby" is not active under BSB Tweaks by the way.

Check this registry value...
HKLM\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms:HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended
It should be 0 to turn off wifi when in standby.
Hope this helps
Edit:
Ignore the space in "HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended" above. It's this forum - it's always doing that
I've found this:
HKLM\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms:SuspendOffDelayInterval
I've set it from default 30000(30 seconds) to 5000 (5 seconds) and WiFi does restart when I power-on after 5 seconds.

that didn't help me, still stays connected in standby.
This thread is interesting. I, on the other hand, would like to keep wifi ON while in standby (with screen off). For certain programs such as Pandora, I would like it playing in the background but have my screen off.
I am having the opposite issue. I can't seem to make it do that given the tips I found already on this thread.
I tried changing the following from 0 to 1 but noticed that when I poweroff phone, it goes back to being 0. Can anyone help me out? Sorry I don't mean to take over your thread. Maybe I should start a new similar thread with an opposite meaning..

Suddenly, my diamond won’t turn off.
After 5-10sec its on again. What is waking him up?
Also sometimes I have problems with locking. If I press the lock button sometimes it will just vibrate. It wont lock.
I have to do it via applications/lock.
This is draining my battery very fast.
I already tried hard reset. No change.
Latest 6.5 stock rom.
Please advice.

Very very strange problem, especially after reading that you are on stock ROM and after hard reset... Now that's sounds like a hardware problem to me, to more observing and if it it really stays like that I'd send it for warranty repair. Sorry bud don't know any other solution

Download TD2 Tools and set it to connect to your power button.
Then uncheck wake up on new SMS.
Also check your power settings and make sure the device will sleep after however long you choose.
Hi all, I recently installed the SetCpu app and placed the recommended settings and now my phone won't go into standby mode in Froyo. When I press the red button, the only option I see is shutdown. I also tried installing spare parts as recommended in the nexus one thread but it wouldn't install for some reason. Any suggestions?
there is no standby function...
just push the End button once and the screen will go to sleep, thats it.

Try posting in the relevant thread. Absolutely no point in starting a new thread
I think what I meant was before I installed the SetCpu app, I would press the red button and it will bring you screen where you gotta swipe to unlock the phone. Now I don't have that function anymore?
SetCPU should not have disabled that function. Make sure you didn't change any other settings somewhere else.
I use Froyo 2.1 build, after I press power key to turn off screen, if I press the power key again in short time, the device wakeup will take a long time (about 5 seconds), sometimes even not wakeup (due to timeout in the lockscreen and screen turns off again I guess), then I have to press the power key again and wait, normally it will take about 4 seconds to turn on the screen.
I tried to turn off setCPU and ATK completely, but not works, still long time to wake up.
is there a solution to this? everything works fine except this
thanks in advance!
I also have this issue. I tried many builds but there is always lag. No build will wake up so fast as WinMo but I think its the limitation of running OS from SD Card. Maybe I`m wrong but I think internal memory has lower latency so windows wakes up immediately and android always takes some time..
I want to know is there anyone do not have this long delay before wakeup? if there is, please tell me, thanks!
these are known issues and there is no fix , most of time things like this come
from human error
Yeah these are known issues with the Froyo builds. Will probablyget fix somewhere down the line.
The best thing to do now is to be patient with it. I find the more frustrated I get with it, the worse it gets. What I mean is if I keep hitting the hangup/unlock button to try to get it to wake, it takes longer to awake.
Also someone has posted that a possible problem is with Advanced Task Killer settings. If you have that program set to kill apps during sleep, it could cause a hang on wake. Also I believe auto screen rotate could have an effect.
I am sure that in time the situation will be resolved, as will every other minor bug and glitch.
The only solution I have foudn to this problem is to use shub 1.4c or d. It usualy turns on the first press, if it doesn't I press the button again(b/c usually the backlight goes on on the first press just nothing shows up on the lcd) then wiat a couple seconds and it goes on. I also have minimal TS freezes w. that build while with other builds they are common
disable autorotate. i had this even in shubcrafts builds, sometimes it woiult be within have a second, sometimes id see the screen power up but and go greyish, then a few seconds later id get the lock screen. from time to time, though i wouldnt get the lock screen and it just power down again.
since disabled auto rotate, its been pretty consistant at showing the lockscreen quickly.
The devs know about these problems, they are bveing worked on.
this is the major problem for me, but I still can not find it in any build's known bug/issue list, does the developer guys really know this? or it's only the problems shown in our devices?
If any of you have installed Battery Indicator, try to uninstall it and see if it help.
I used to have Battery Indicator to disable screen lock, after I uninstalled it, the problem is gone.
I have had the same issue with all the roms i tried ... but recently on shubcraft 1.5, i ve found out that when pressing the end key and that nothing shows on the LCD but the keyboard backlight is on, you can unlock as usual by doing the slide pattern on the black screen (you can feel it vibrate when you hit the spot before sliding).
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I'm using FroyoStone 2.1 with kernel r9 and have the same issue.
I can confirm your finding that it's indeed the backlight that doesn't light up and unlock can be done anyway...
Dev's please fix this backlight issue...
BIG THANKS!
I had this annoying issue and tried almost all the builds and finally the build in the following link worked well. Note : This is a nexus ROM without sense and FM radio. Very snappy and no wakeup delay for me.

Yes, same here. Using mattc 1.1 clean
hate it.
I have this problem either , Shubcraft 1.5 , also during calls , sometimes it take more than 5 seconds to wake the screen after you take it off from your ear .

Can you try waking up your phone with the YES/SEND key? (instead of power key)
Please provide feedback if this makes a difference.

Thx a lot.. The Call button wakes up the phone much faster than the default Power button.
Is is possible that a low memory situation can cause this? My HD2 was running perfectly then out of nowhere the long wake and wake screen freeze started to appear. I have been troubleshooting it for 2 days now. I just noticed that my available memory show in Taskiller was 109mb. I had seen that low memory situation before during a freeze period and not paid any attention to it. But I do know that after I reboot the phone its perfect again w/ 200+mb.
Anyone else notice this?
Has any progress been made on this matter in recent builds? Running shubcraft 1.5, and still having major troubles with it about 2 out 3 unlocks..
Try disabling any & all task killers, what I think is happening is that something gets killed when it shouldn't. I had the same issue to the point of going back to Winmo and as a last resort just disabled all those and then went with a static wallpaper (no live). The problem disappeared and now the battery last much longer.
