Is there any way to enlarge the dial pad? - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

Hi:
I personly feel that the dial pad is kind of small if I am using finger to dial.
Is there any way to make the dial pad larger?
Thanks alot!

big dialer
this is the solution i think

ok.. Thanks laich71, but it doesnt work.
I found the solution
dl that E-TEN_M600_Dialer_Skin.zip
install .cab then reset.
It's working good.

for blue skin dl this one, and dump everything in /Windows
replace all then reset.

Thanks guy, but I have tried this one already for a long time.
It will disable the smart dialling of my prophet.
The dial key is big, but it hard to find the number.
Are there other solutions?

The " SmartDial+EtenSkinPortretD_v2.cab" does work. I've been using it - with big dial like Eten and with smartdial. To Install, you need to soft reset first then installation without running any prog. If it still does not work, then use a program (eg memmaid) to kill the cprog.exe which startups on derfault, then install.

Thanks guy, as u mentioned, I will try it in safemode. I think it might be sure than the other way.

Hello all,
i've tried this, with the smartdialing piece of it too. It does work, including smartdialing.
However, i've now reset my phoen again as i was getting some strange effects:
*When going from camera mode back to the start screnn it would end in landscape.
* some hangups from time to time
*sluggish phone reactions.
This was not acceptable for me, so i removed this. Now all is normal again.
But, i would still very much appreciate bigger numeral pads on the phone!

Wizard/WM2005 Task closing program

I'm a big fan of SPB's pocket plus, but the 3.0 version has some conflicts with the I-Mate K-Jam. While I can wait for them to work those out in most instances, I REALLY miss the ability to completely close tasks via the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen.
Has anyone found a compatible program that allows users to COMPLETELY close programs using the "X" button?
Thanks for any advice!
(As an aside, you'd think that after 5 versions and all the problems with programs/memory in WM2003PE, Microsoft would have included this feature in the OS.... but.... nooooo....)
wisbar advance 2
works for me.
NOT REALLY
IT WORKED FINE FOR ME TOO BUT.............
THE NAJOR PROBLEM THE WHOLE DEVICE HANGS UP AFTER A SOFT RESET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
every time i soft reset the device with spb3 installed the device just hangs up and the only way to get it working was a hard reset.
I do not have this problem when spb3 is not installed
anyone else had this problem????? any ideas??
i used magib button...

When you install SPB + 3.0 go to settings for SPB and uncheck "Safe Mode on Soft Reset" This is what causes it to hang. When you uncheck that everything runs fine
I have SPB + on my K-Jam
Me 2
yes but my k-jam don´t lets to install pocket plus ?¿?
regards?¿?
I installed Magic Button - worked fine when I actually tap the "X" icon. For some reason, though, it doesn't seem to work when using a hardware button assigned to OK / Close.
Any ideas?

Well, forgetting the broken English, I am having this same problem, too -- the CAB file only installs 10-15%, then just craps out, and the Windows "unsuccessful install" message pops up.
Any thoughts? Have I corrupted some registry entry or something, that after the first bad one, does not allow the Pocket Plus CAB to properly install?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
bit of an extreme suggestion, do a hard reset and re-install from scratch,
sorry all i can suggest. :?
i do but, it´s imposible

Select input method is really slow ?

Hi all
Hope you all had a great christmas
Okay, back to my question ... when you tap on the input method selection arrow at the bottom of your screen, does it take like forever ... okay, not forever, but more like 6-8 seconds ... for the popup menu to appear and let you select type of input method to use ?
Is there a way to speed this up ?
Takes forever here too. I did use Tweak2k2 to hide some SIPs I never use, plus I have Calligrapher installed.
If you've installed too many sips and uninstalled them....basically messed around with the SIPs (installing and uninstalling)....the registry gets messed up. This makes wm5 to keep thinking and looking for certain dlls until it gives up...
the only way is, do a cleanup (hard reset) and install only the ones you need and are sure of sticking with it until the next hard reset
cheers!

Do you have Voice Command installed? If you do, that will slow down the SIP selection.

Wonder if it's a WM5 thing because I noticed it on my Wizard and now on my Magician II and just assumed that it was due to the 200Mhz processor. If you're seeing in on a Universal then I guess it can't be a processor thing. It is BLOODY annoying as I only ever use Letter Recogniser and very occasionally the Keyboard, but for some reason it keeps defaulting to the keyboard, particularly aftr the (all too frequent in WM5) soft reset.

Hmmm, as a matter of fact, i do have Voice Command installed ... but I seem to recall seeing this slow SIP selection even before that. Anyway, I have disabled Voice Command and it's still just as slow.
Can anyone else here who does not have Voice Command installed verify this ?

Indeed, it is bloody annoying ... I don't see how popping up a menu of available input methods can take that long. It's not like we're asking it to load all the input methods, we just wanna see the list of available methods.
I am also facing the same problem of defaulting to keyboard after a soft reset

I have a qtek 9000 running on the stock rom. My sip opens up almost instantaneously.
Before which, I had the same issue when I was beta testing calligrapher on another device running wm5. It apparently was a problem with one of the beta builds of calligrapher which they claim to have fixed in their final release...however, I've never installed the final release on my universal. So if you have CG installed, try not to install after a hard reset (Last time i had this issue, i had to hard reset...that was the only way out)

A solution to make ID Caller work !!!

Like many of you, I have been disappointed to see ID Caller not working well on Imate.
I have found a way to make it work almost 100% of the time.
Before posting this solution, I have been experiencing it for 1 month now with no noticeable issues.
Just put two shorcuts pointing to "IA_CID_Startup.exe" and "PhotoContacts.exe" in your startup directory "\windows\startup"
Then Soft Reset
After Soft reset wait for PhotoContacts.exe to load all your contacts and you are ready to enjoy ID Caller
Several things to watch out :
If the trick don't work at first, just soft reset until it works
Never make close "IA_CID_Startup.exe" and "PhotoContacts.exe". (they should always run in background)
If you are using programs that really close applications, just make exceptions for these two.
That's all.
Bye Bye
thanx man! ur solution solves the case...but consume a little bit of memory...hehe! but it works...
i've found out a easy solution 1 month ago...
U can use Memmaid to adjust the startup program sequence... 8)
Put "poutlook" at the top...and put IA_CallerID at the bottom....letting both have enough time to load...and it works with me....after every soft reset....

I'll try it, but all I did was rename poutlook.lnk to aapoutlook.lnk and IA_CallerID.lnk to zzIA_Callerid.lnk - no need for memmaid
for me, caller id has always worked as it should using photo contacts pro without any of those tricks or hacks.

HTC Mapping recent calls to a Soft Key??

I have the Softkey program already.... and I am guessing that the recent calls are part of the phone program and that there probably isn't a separate exe for it... but if anyone knows how to pull up the call list I would really appreciate it. Everyone ignores me on here and I know it's the cool thing to do but you could be an awesome trend setter by throwing me a bone!
=)
Try this. It's work for me.
Thanks dude... really appreciate it... trying to figure out how to make it show up as an option in Softkey... tried putting it in program files, didn't work... so now trying the Windows dir.
Nevermind, used a diff. soft key app that allows you to choose program path... works like a charm, I am in your debt!

- Download the CallHistory.zip from Post number two
- Extraxt the CallHistory.exe anywhere to your pda (memory or storagecard)
- Now search for Remap Softkeys on google and install the cab file on your pda
- When installed open it and change the path of the left softkey with the CallHistory.exe
I tried 5 different callhistory.exe and this is the first one that actually brought up the history and not the dialer. Thanks!

After Removing Manilla 2D, QuickDial doesn't work -- HELP PLEASE!

Please don't kill me if this has been posted already, but I have searched and searched and searched.
I installed Manilla 2D and wasn't really feeling it, so I removed it. Well everything works fine except my quickdial pad on my touchflo cube. When I boot the phone I get an error message about the quickdial.exe program, and when I launch the cube, I can see the quickdial pad, but no names appear, and I can't activate it with touch.
Is there a registry tweak to fix this??? Or what can I do?? I REALLY don't want to do a hard reset, but if I do, will it go back to WM6 or will it stay WM6.1?
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Oh, I have the HTC Touch (Sprint), btw.
same thing happened to me ... i don't recall seeing an error about quickdial though... let me go to war with it and tell you what i find out.
well... tried everything i could think of... replaced Quickdial.exe with another version, tried two other cubes from different versions of the phone... looked through the reg... didn't fix it.
Backup your stuff and do a hard reset. it will go back to the last ROM you instaled.
If it still doesn't work, you nee to re-execute the ROM upgrade utility (RUU)
we'd rather not at this point
Ugh. Doing a hard reset for a simple dial pad makes my head hurt. I'm never installing another app on this phone that messes with the interface. I'll just stick with what it's got until the next phone.
If anyone thinks of another solution, PLEASE let me know. Hard reset is such a pain.

Main reason why i dont want to install Manilla 2D...
Mostly, do not instal BETA if you are not ready to do a hard reset... Or if you don't use an easy backup utility...
Especially when they mention it in the app's tread!
I don't understant why it seems so terrible for you guys to do a hard reset... I just did it with mine: It feels much lighter now!
The Manilla 2D replaces the default quick dial, so the files are altered. It's like trying to install the cube and HTC Home, at least in some instances. The two files conflict, so you'll need to hard reset.
Or, reinstall without the quick dial .cab, and use the customizer to remove the speed dial page.
