Somebody asked me about this through pm.
My advice is to:
- upgrade to the newest shipped English CE ROM (O2 1.11 or JAM 1.12)
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Magician/
- change it to BigStorage (Two-byte method)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=24500&highlight=
- upgrade the radio to 1.13 (newest)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=25465&highlight=
- install ROS Chinese support and HWPenCE
http://www.pdabase.com/download/SoftView.asp?SoftID=3807
http://www.pdabase.com/download/SoftView.asp?SoftID=2635
- clean install all other programs
The rationale is as follows:
- English ROMs run faster than Chinese ROMs and have less compatibility issues for softwares
(you can just upgrade the CE ROM, i.e. nk.nbf, by renaming the Extended ROM ms.nbf and the radio rom radio.nbf)
- It is now very safe to use the Direct Method to get BigStorage and you can install most of your softwares to Storage
- The newest radio ROM 1.13 is by far the best and the most stable
- ROS Chinese supports both Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and occupies the least memory. It supports SMS in Chinese even better than Chinese ROMs
- HWPenCE is similar to and even better than the Hand Recognition built into Chinese ROMs
- It is more reliable to reinstall the programs after upgrade, unless you are familiar with the advanced features of Sprite Backup, in particular their add-on utility for ROM upgrades
hey i was on Touch X rom, and now its time to get back to oldschool, cuz i want to run Pointui as main interface on my device.
im searching for a rom with:
- R3AA
- Rhodium Dialer
- Comm Manager
- Volume Control
- ee ok the mainstuff of touch x 10. but without TF3D
- Additional Apps like (Backup,RSSFeeds,NoData)
- FAST and LITE Rom
- Windows Mobile 6.1
- Language: German or English.
if the one or another app is not inside that doesnt matter.
please give me some advice there are too many roms to check now.
Hi, new member here. Just bought my T-Mobile HD2 about 4 days ago.
First I want to say a big thank you to all the mods/senior members/and contributors for creating such a wonderful forum and resource centre for the HD2.
I've read most of the stickied threads and noob guides, but before I get started with flashing my T-Mobile HD2, there are some concerns and questions I wish to clarify:
My T-Mobile software specs (completely stock, purchased on the 24th Apr 2010) :
OS version 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manila Version 2.5.20121412.1
Rom version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE
Rom date 02/22/10
Radio version 2.08.50.08_2
What I wish to do to my T-Mobile HD2 :
1) SIM unlock the phone so I can use any carrier/SIM card from any service provider, anywhere around the globe, since I'm a frequent traveller.
2) Traditional Chinese support, more specifically Taiwanese language support. I have loads of files in Traditional Chinese and having the Asian language support is my top priority.
3) Flash the T-Mobile HD2 to the original HTC Taiwan rom, but retaining the full 576mb ram and 1gb Rom spec. OR Source some cooked rom that contains Traditional Chinese support (Trad Chinese = Taiwanese) that is compatible with the T-Mobile HD2 spec.
So.... from my understanding, based on the stickied threads on this forum, I need to perform the following :
1) Flash HARDSPL
2) Flash the appropriate rom (Which I can't find, I tried everywhere)
3) Flash the appropriate radio (Not sure if its 100% necessary)
4) Hard reset
Am I going on the right track? Please advise, and thanks in advance.
Bump.
A language pack would do the job, I don't really have to flash my phone to a traditional chinese rom.
Any idea where I can source such language pack? I googled everywhere but can't seem to find a T-Mobile compatiable pack.
asian language

the htc msg interface does not allow asian fonts.

Its a good job you havent found an official taiwanese rom, if you flash that rom (should you find it) you will kill your phone.
Your phone can ONLY support the tmous offical 2.x rom, or cooked roms based on that 2.x rom.
The taiwanese rom, should you find it, will:-
1 - be version 1.66 (probably) so wont run
2 - will include a radio, almost certainly a ..51.. radio - result? bricked phone.
Your best option is a tmous compatible cooked rom with the correct language.
no, what I meant was to extract the font from the taiwanese rom. I've been doing some googling and digging on various forums, apprantely you can get a language pack installed, but the links are dead : (

Search for "MS Arial unicode font". It's what that website fonts are based on. Be warned that it is a whopping 22 Mb since it is a full Unicode set.
Having the font installed allows you to read Chinese. It will not change the entire wm 6.5 menu into that language.
Also, It does not integrate into the current keyboard software. For Chinese input, you still need something like the one I suggested in my earlier post.

I am looking for a Chinese Traditional ROM or some language pack for TMOUS HD2. Please if the ROM linked above works? or direct me to some other source.
Can't read & write Traditional Chinese with Energy BLACKSTONE 21905 Sense2.5 Cookie
I can't read & write Traditional Chinese, even thought I had installed CE Star. I searched & tried many times, but still can't find a solution.
"Energy.BLACKSTONE.21905.Sense2.5.Cookie.Dinik.Glass.Jun.14" is the rom that I am using now with my HTC HD, I had no problem with the early version of Energy rom.
Anybody having the same problem?
Problem solved
Thank you
Hi Everybody
I wanted to put my phone on Finnish so i installed the official rom from the HTC website. Before i had an English Custom rom installed. I tried the installation now 3 times but the complete rom and sense interface stays completly in english. The device information in the settings says under rom version: 1.56.414.0 (43972) WWE i guess the WWE is what you dont really want to see if its supposed to be a FIN rom.
I had downloaded this file what i think isnt the problem: _HTC Touch HD_MR_2009_RUU_BlackStone_HTC_FIN_1.56.414.0_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship.exe
The installation runs smooth without any errors. I installed from my windows machiene thru active sync
Can anybody help me or give me a hint what is going wrong here ?
Cheers,
