I just recently got my Prophet and it works like a charm without the Extended Rom. But does anybody know a way how I can still get the homezone displayed?
I kind of need that function since my phone flatrate only applies to the homezone.

Try to only install the install.ARM.cab from Extended Rom. Then you should be able to see the home zone in the phone-connection thing.

i have a rather simple question but - due to my limited technical understanding - havent been able to find a simple answer on this forum ;-)
i have a t-mobile mda which i am running with a O2 sim. Now the software that came with it does not offer a key function which i would like to have, being an O2 user: the indicator that shows me if i am in my O2 home zone or not. the latest o2 software update adds that functionality, but i am not sure if i can install it on my mda.
is there a reasonable safe & simple way to flash my mda with the new xda rom?
would it be a good idea just to run the special edition rom exe-file?

OK, special edition works fine
No O2 genion home zone indicator either however. Is it save to flash to the mda with the latest original xda rom (3.19.01)...cause this would be my next step

I got my Universal [O2 XDA Exec] today, its a replacement for my old Ipaq H5550. So far i'm very impressed with the PPC side of it. But totally lost with the phone side
One of the things i've already discovered is its not locked to O2, and i've already tested it with my Orange PAYG sim. Which is the reason for this post.
Is there a way to use the O2 settings/servers to daytime [work] use, and the Orange settings/servers for night [playtime] ?
I don't need a one button solution, i don't mind getting a little messy.
if you can extract the cab files for operator settings fro the orange and o2 extended rom and save them as read only on your device you could just run the one you want to use and soft reset.

OK, had a look in the Ext ROM folders, but theres no clues in their names, and I don't know enough about CAB's to pull them apart.
I did find a thread explaining what the CAB's in the O2 Ext ROM do, and a modified CAB with just the O2 settings, [Thanks Dingo].
Can anyone tell me if someone has made a simular CAB for the Orange settings, or which CAB's in the Orange Ext ROM the settings are in ?

Just got my m3100 and am trying to set it up without the orange branding....Ive dont thiss by hard reseting then bypassing the custom install using the reset which dont install the orange stuff....Ive noticed though that its also missing mms and video calling.
Ive unhidden the extended rom to select the cabs i want but they seem to be all grouped together not like previous ppc phones ive used.
Is it possible to use the extended rom from say a Tytn will this work ?......allowing video calls .etc .etc

i've got a spare hermes around and i flashed it with tai_sw's newest rom.
i've put in a 3 pay as you go sim card in hope i can surf their page at least on my hermes. i know for a fact that even with no credit you can surf their webpage as much as you like using a 3 phone.
is this possible with a hermes?
what is the url?
i use to be on 3 and the url was mobile.three.co.uk/hp/singleurl but it doesnt work anymore.

You might need to change the IE user agent to pretend you are a 3 phone (not a Hermes). There should be a cab called Identify N95 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366197 for more info

I am using a TMOUS HTC HD2 in Germany with O2. It works very good, but there is one thing missing: the homezone indicator icon. I called the support, and they told me that there is definitely no way to get that with a non-O2 phone. Obviously, this is nonsense, as there are at least to ways to get the homezone icon on Windows Mobile phones. But both don't work with WM 6.5 / HTC Sense, as far as I know. As O2 recently released their HD2, I wonder if somebody has extracted the necessary files there and put a nice .cab together or knows another way to get that? I guess that this would help a lot of people...
