To keep your GPRS alive if you want:
1) Go to the following registry entry:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A3 *****}\Connections\GPRS*****\"
2) Change "Always On" 0 into 1.
---------------------
Then:
Go to Inbox.
Menu -> extra -> create new account.
Enter your email adres.
Enter your name, username, and password.
Account type: POP3
Name: Whatever you want to choose.
Incoming mail: pop.YOURPROVIDER.com (for example: pop.gmail.com )
Outgoing mail: smtp.YOURPROVIDER.com (for example: smtp.gmail.com)
If you want to let it automatically check your email,
then choose options, and you can fill in the time interval.
If you enter 15 for example, it will check you email every 15 minutes and
lets you know automatically if there is mail.
You mail will be kept on the server, so you can check and store your email
on pc also later.
Choose next.
Choose "download headers only"
Check and choose and enter 999 kb. (this is necessay for providers like
gmail, for most other providers the preset settings are ok)
Finish.

the problem i am having is that when i recieve email oon my desktop, i cant recieve it on my 8125... will this allow me to do that??
Once your email is opened/received on your desktop the mail will not show up anymore on the phone. That is my experience.
For me its not an issue, as when I read it at home, I do not need to read or receive it again on the road after that.
And when I am on the road it will first show up on my phone, after that when I am at home I download from the server with my provider.
But perhaps your problem can be solved by leaving all your new incoming mail on the server with your provider when your pc already received it. That should be possible. Perhaps in that case your 8125 can also pick it up after your pc opened it.
I am not sure why you would want your pc to pick up mail first and still need to open it on your mobile phone after that, but you can also read you mail
with your pc by using POPPY ( http://www.yoursurfice.com/Content/Home/Home.htm ).
This way the email will stay on the server with your provider,
and you will still be notified on your Mobile equipment ass well.
The setup I gave you does work if you do not let your pc (outlook)
let email check automatically when you are away from home
or on the road.
If you are on the road, then you auto check mail with 8125.
and you can delete it ass well, as it will stay on the server.
Once your back home, you download all mail from teh server,
and store in outlook.
Then put on auto-check again in Outlook if you want that.
Thats the way I do it.
Or just install poppy.
It will also check you email automatically, but leaves it on the server,
when read without outlook.
This way you can also remove spam/virus like garbage and download
the mail you ony want to receive.

thats what i need. i want tow copies because alot of times i will read the email on my pc then i will wait later and reply to the same email using my phone thats why i need two copies... one on my desktop and one on my 8125.
what exactly is poppy? i use outlook 2007 and would hate to give that up just to have two copies...
another problem that i am having is that when i have email i my inbox, and i go select send and recieve, if i have any new incoming messages, they are deleted and are replaced with the new messages... is there any way to stop that??? is there some simple way just to push the mail to my 8125
Thanks for all your help so far!
Poppy is a very helpfull program that work independently.
You can still use outlook as always.
Poppy only works in the background. It will contact your provider automatically if you want and gives you clear signals on screen if there is new mail on the server with your provider. This way it is not downloaded yet to your pc, so you will still be able to pick the signals up automatically with your Mobile phone as well.
You can not use Poppy to send email, of respond with it. If you want that you simply start up Outlook after that.
But its helpfull, as lots of times you will also recieve spam/viruslike attachements etc. And with Poppy you can immediately delete them from the server without actually downloading them first to your pc.
Now, for your second problem (deleted email from mobile phone) I would like to refer you to some other Threads on this site. I have read about it in the past, so please do a search. It is there somewhere.
If I find it, I lett you know.
Or perhaps someone out there can help with this ??
This is the most simple and easy way I found for myself.
I would not know how to do it else.
Hello, Im on bell and i have my hotmail email set up with my phone and i find it really annoying that i have to hit send/recieve to get delete and send emails...is there a way to just get the e-mail from the person who sent it, without hitting the send/recieve button..if it helps im running NFSFANS newest version of his rom.
Thanks
You could try mobipush which is a free push email service.
1. Navigate to your email tab on M2D
2. Select menu (bottom right soft key), then accounts
3. Select menu again, then options
4. You'll have a box that says "tap an account to change settings", select hotmail
5. Select synch schedule. You can set the frequency and times. Mine is set to every 60 minutes from 9am to 9pm
It's not as good as my exchange email, but better than selecting "send/recieve" all the time.
on your phone go to:
email -> hotmail inbox -> menu -> tools -> options ->click hotmail ->
sync schedule -> set sync frequency to "as items arrive"
emails will arrive in your hotmail inbox and show up on your phone about 30 s later
Why does the Leo automatically delete emails after some days when you check if there a new ones on the server?
I don't want it to do that, so how can I change this?

It doesn't - you must have set something to do that.
Can you give us more information? We'd need to know if it's an outlook account, or a hotmail account etc.. Also, have you checked the mail server (or online inbox) to see if the mails are actually deleted, or just not shown on the HD2.
Thanks
I have the same problem, I have check actually the mails have not been deleted from the server. It just not showing in HD2 anymore, I can't find where to configure this.
In the email configuration, how many messages do you download? The past 3 days? All?
In INBOX window go to MENU - TOOLS - OPTIONS... Press name of your email account... Edit Account Setup ... press NEXT couple of times and you will come to screen with choice "Download messages:" where is by default "From past 3 days" and it could be changed to ALL messages.
Ok thanks I will try it.
Although "Download messages" is a bit missleading for this, because the mails are allready downloaded
It doesnt delete the messages its just set to only show messages for the last 3 days, you can change how old you want it to be.
if you use pop3 and deletes the messages from the server the messages could be lost.
Use imap instead then your phone and mail server will just sync and on delete the mails you delete manually

Right.
Make your settings in Active Sync > Menu > Options [click on E-mail] > Settings > Download the past > All (or less, as you want).
Hello,
I have set up my gmail as IMAP with the standard config of the HD2. Everything works fine, the only problem is that the mail only shows the last couple days and not the enitre mail account.
Shouldn't is show all mails I have in my gmail account since it's setup is IMAP?
If so, did I miss a setting?
Thanks in advance for helping!
P.S. I've searched the forum for similar threads but couldnt find one, apologies if it's a double post.
I'm not sure about IMAP but when using activesync to interact with gmail, there is a way to tell it how far back to download emails.
Why aren't you using activsync and gmail's push email service by the way?
When you're setting it up, on the last screen when you are selecting what services you want to use (calendar, contacts, email) if you highlight email then you can click on setting and set how far back you want to sync.
NOTE: Don't try and do tasks or texts because google doesn't support them yet.
Hope this helps
For Yahoo (not Hotmail!)
1. Select eMail in the HD2 Start Menu.
2. Select your mail account (without opening the mail, if you open the mail, simply press back arrow on hardware keys, and then reselect eMail form Start Menu.
This will ensure Mail Account is highlighted.
3. Select Menu > options
4. Tap the account to change settings
5. Select Send/Receive Schedule
6. Select frequency and Download options eg past 3 days, 5, 7, 30, ALL
Download size for mail and attachments also available.
This does not appear to be available for Hotmail account!
Hope this helps.
works fine, thanks
My TP2 e-mail settings allow me to leave the message on the server (POP3) when I delete them from the phone. However, my HD2 doesn't have such a setting as far as I can see. Anyone know how to do this? I also posted this question in the T-Mo support forum, but haven't heard anything.... This is very important to me, and if indeed there is no such setting on the HD2, I will return the phone.
This is for pop3 or imap but don't know how it is for exhange server etc.
Inbox>
menu>tools>options....
then select the account you want to "edit"
then select edit account setup>next>next>next>next>next
how ever many "next" it takes to get to Automatic Send/Receive and on bottom of the screen is "Advanced Settings"
that is where the option you are looking for is.
That is how it is on my phone anyway.
Good luck
I posted this yesterday for you on the T-Mo site:
Start key> Email>Menu>Options> select email account >Edit Account Setup>click Next 5 times, then Advanced Settings. The next screen will let you select whether to delete them from the server or move them to server trash. I have all of my email accounts set to delete them from server and when I delete emails, I do a Send/Receiver and have had no problems with my emails deleting. If I have it set to move to server trash, it leaves them on the server.
you can skip about 5 button presses by just selecting send/receive schedule rather than Edit Account Setup. From Send/Receive menu select Advanced Settings and you just arrived at the same point.
True, but I thought perhaps there were other options that the poster might also want to change or review. But your way is the most direct.
