Could anyone recommend a plugin that is small and customizable replace the email/sms, tasks and next appointment, something possibly with skins, i don't want to clutter the screen just shrink the bits i find useful.
Try: SPD Diary
Had a look but what i want is to decrease the space used buy the built in plugins, so say i had a icon for sms, email, tasks with the number of each overlaid on top and i just want the next appointment, nothing complicated, just simple and small.
Try SPB Pocket Plus. You can create tabs. I, for example, have one empty tab, so that I can see my wallpaper, and couple of others: for media players, for Internet, for games, etc...
Also you can try Wisbar Advance and Wisbar Advance Desktop. Here you have much more possibilities, yet with a cost of performance...

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knew if there is a way to view appointments from a certain amounts of days from the current on the today screen.
I.e. I would like to view all appointments on the today screen that are due in the next three days all at once for example.
Thanks.
In the Today options, select Calendar and press the Options button. Select 'Show Upcoming appointments' instead of the default 'Show next Appointment'.
A better alternative would be to install the Calendar+ FREE today plug-in. This allows many customisations like font color, number of days to display, etc. Here's the link to download it: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=108
Unless you want to go for the commercial Pocket Breeze of course!
Nice one KTA- Calendar plus is a handy plugin- just what I needed.
Thanks.
Hi sh500,
as an alternative, have a look at tAgenda. I also used Calendar+ for quite some time, but after trying tAgenda, I deinstalled Calendar+.
In my opinion, tAgenda is much more comfortable because it's much more customisable and has more options (Layout, colors, style, shows appointments and todos, and so on).
HTH,
BGK
BGK,
I've downloaded tAgenda- will see if it benefits me over Calendar+
I am a very happy user of the SPB Diary/PocketPlus/Clock series but I can't help but see that there is a huge world of customization for the SBSH PocketBreeze and iLauncher programs.
Does anyone know off hand which uses less system resources?
Anyone prefer one over the other? Why?
I am just curious, because I almost want to buy the SBSH suite even though I already have bought the SPB set.
Sbsh -- HANDS DOWN!!
For me, Sbsh was the winner -- hands down. Their apps were MUCH more customizable than Spb's. And I found that the Sbsh products used less system resources. I use Pocket Breeze, iLauncher and Pocket Weather
The only Spb products I use are Spb Time and Spb Finance. The Spb Time program give the option of a fullscreen display clock that Sbsh Clock does not offer and Spb Finance syncs with MS Money on my desktop so I can keep track of my finances during the day on my Wizard and not have to wait until I get home to enter everything into MS Money.
Another thing I like about Sbsh's PocketBreeze is that I was able to add a custom tab for the Spb products, as well. So, I can access the Spb Time AND the Spb Finance programs with one tap onscreen.
YMMV, but I HIGHLY recommend Sbsh!! There's EXCELLENT support on their forums as well. Can't vouch for support on Spb forums, as I didn't run the programs long enough to actually register on their's.
Can you make custom tabs to run Today plug-ins on PocketBreeze?
My bit with SPB's PocketPlus is that it take a big footprint on my Today screen on my Wizard when I have Chi-Dang's Battery Status, PocketMax's PhoneAlarm (with the Media Phone skin), and the Device Lock all on my device.
I would like to make a seperate system tab where I can put Chi-Dang's Battery Status in there with other system items...
I am almost curious to getting it now...
If a program appears on the list of available Today plugins on your device, you can assign a custom tab to it.
The only tab in PocketBreeze that can't be deleted is the Calendar tab. By default, it also has a tab for notes, messages, tasks and Special Events. You can choose NOT to use those and/or replace them/add your own.
Attached are some screenshots of my Wizard. I have mine set up so the tabs are vertically aligned on the screen, rather than horizontally aligned. You can run PocketBreeze minimized, or run it with one of the tabs opened -- by default it would run the calendar tab.
It has a 14 day fully functional trial period. I didn't wait the full 14 days to try it. I was sold after about 3 days and bought it. And, from what I'm reading on the Sbsh forums, there's an upgrade in the works, too!! All upgrades are FREE to registered users.
Hm... Now I am really intrigued... I may have to give it a whirl or even purchase it!
PocketBreeze is a MUST HAVE for me. The special settings to draw a border on the cleartype text and how it display my next appointments and todo's its amazing.
Bot programs can be tested on the emulator
I'm a big pocketbreeze fan as well
after trying both...I choose pocketbreeze handsdown...I love the display, the icons, pretty condense for the amount of info it displays, amazing amount of customization, and what's great is that you can add any today plug-in into pocketbreeze as another tab
fantastic (just wish they would work on AKU3.2...oh well)
SBSH for sure.
SBSH is more "customizable" and more "heavier" than SPB. I try both and stopped on SBSH. It looks more beautiful for me.
I like SBSH product for all teh above reasons as well. The ability to make a tab for ANY today plugin sealed the deal also. I also like the availability of custom icons for iLauncher vs. pocket+.
Free trials are a wonderful thing.
The only SPB products I really like are backup and time.
I just wish that iLauncher had a alt+tab function like PocketPlus
Hey guys,
I love the functionality of HTC Home. However, I wished that the clock part of HTC Home is slimmed down so that there is more space for the today screen?
Is there any fix or alternative software that can please this soul?
Thanks
hpr
wisbar advance desktop...
its great, basically its a launcher that replaces today, but you can embed today plugins in it, so you could make the clock with a small font, then icons for the home tabs underneath, which correspond to programs, or docks, which arer small boxes that appear which have more shortcuts in them..
just a suggestion

Does it have a section for fast contacts ? I've seen phoneAlarm, has most of the stuff except the contacts part. That's what I love because when I'm in the car its easier to make a call.
hotplainrice,
I must admit I don't use the home plugin as I find it rather crude in its look and function. I use a combination of SPB Pocketplus, SPB Mobile Shell, and their telephony plugin (can't remember what its called but checkout their website). I must admit my device is highly customised; however I like it just the way it is.
Have tried to use Wisbar but found it a pain to get the look and functionality that I have been looking for. However I have seen a lot of good stuff on the Wisbar forum so please keep an open mind.
Cheers
WB
yer erm you can make docks with contact pictures, so ive got mine set up to look like an iphone, ive got the phone button which goes to phone, or opens the dock with favourite contacts, then ive got sms, lock/internet, media player and finally my programs dock. And in my programs dock, i have a link to another page on WAD [it can have many pages] which has all my windows today plugins.. so has speed of the iphone and the functionality of windows.. so to answer your question, it does have easily accessible contacts, but you have to customise it yourself..

I once used HTC Home Plugin, but troubled with the weather panel, so I uninstall it, and imo, the closest app to HTC Home plugin is SPC Mobile SHell 1.5 + SPB Phone Suite. Closest to intersface, yet more powerful ability...
just like those two guys, i use spb programs... when i said i had today plugins on a seperate page, i meant i have spb pocket plus 4, with diary and weather integrated into it..
spb programs are great
and wisbar is a pain, but once its done, it works perfectly

There is of course the other HTC app "HTC Plus!" Clock, shortcuts and links to message folders without taking up the entire screen. Doesn't have the weather functionailty or music player control tho
rltoday has a skin that is like HTC Home but is slimmer. Might want to give it a look.
Check out HTC Plus! SHould be on the forums somewhere
Thinking of going down the wisbar way. HTC Plus is too simple, no contacts tab. Thanks guys for the replies.
i can send you my theme if you like.. i paid for it, but dont mind sending it.. just so yoou can get a go before you commit to buy it... but you'd still need to get the wisbar codes (10usd each).
rory

Hey, that was cool, I'd like to have HTC Home Plugins Theme for WisBar Desktop... would you like to share for me too? tq =)
My last WisBar Desktop Theme was modified iPhone theme, create 3 virtual pages; Welcome screen, App shortcut, and Agenda (put pocket breeze plugins there)
thx!
deleted, double post...
check out my phonealarm skin I made long time ago http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?topic=5136.0
Use phonealarm. Its alot better, less buggy and more options.
Hi Folks,
i´ve just ordered my Touch HD, and i hope it will come to me before Santa (end of November i guess).
My question is: what can be seen on the homescreen of the HD? Today i use my good old friend, the wizard100. On the Todayscreen i have full Battery and Storage information, Weatherforecast for 4 Days, and calendar appointments showing up to 3 days. Also a today-link for tomtom. Is TF3D able to show this too? I need to see all these things on just one quick view. How customizable is TF3D?
Of coz u can.
Just install the softwares.
Which softwares in particular are you referring to?
My question was how many things is TF3D able to do without any external software. On my Wizard 100 i´ve installed following software: SPB Weather, SBSH Phoneweaver, SPB Time, Calendar+ , DeviceLock, Battrey Status nad TomTom. Except Tomtom i hope that TF3D could show me things like weather,Appointments and other things without installing other software. I like to use the HTC Homescreen, but i dont know how many information it is able to show?
Afaik it has the same home screen as the Diamond but probably with a little more info because of the added screen height. The diamond home screen shows clock, missed call status and first next calendar item.
And this is what i wanted to know: Do you think the HD would show more informations than the normal TF3D from f.e. the Diamond? This must be an complete different TF3D, or not?
It's not completely different, it is in fact rather similar. It has the same tabs bar the stock tab, and most tabs just show a little more info to complement to extra screen height. Also, it has very nice transitions between FLO/programs, much like the iPhone zoom effect.
Same trick is applied on the HD to make it 'feel' more slick and responsive.
Anyway, if you look at the French video on YouTube you will catch a glimpse of many of the tabs, including the home tab. It shows exactly the same stuff as on the Diamond, except I am guessing it will show more upcoming calendar events in the bottom.
You have a choice between TouchFlo3D or the normal Windows Mobile that you used to.
What you have on it will depend what Apps you like, its like your old PDA / PDA Phone. In other words, almost anything.
If you are just talking about the homescreen itself, than you get to see the same thing like on the touch diamond but when you scroll down, the list will be much longer so you can see more appointments. which is a good thing
oh and in the case you didn't know:
there is also a new "customize tabs: rearrange and remove tabs" setting !!
can be seeN here:

Hi, I wonder how many TF3D alternatives there are. I've been playing with Bell UI (nice but not so useful...), Point UI (too bad latest versions aren't compatible with VGA devices, looks very promising!), SPB Mobile (probably the best one, simple, effective, with a Black Today page Classic which suits the Diamond just perfect and has a lovely big analog clock, big weather indications, big net signal strenght & battery icons, missed calls, mails and sms, and all in one page! ) and WisBar Advance Desktop (which also is nice but just slightly better than Bell UI).
Here, I'm asking you if I'm missing something, or what do you think about the mentioned above UI. Did anybody drop the TF3D for another UI?
SPB pocket plus is great as an enhancement for the standard Windows Mobile Today screen.
You can create up to 6 tabs, each holding a combination of Today plugins, shortcuts and photo-contacts. When the tabs are set to auto-hide, you effectively have an extra page that appears when you minimize a window or press the Home key.
I have mine configured so that my homepage shows just a task manager and controls for Pocket Player. See my signature for screenshots...
