Dont get me wrong, I'm loving the fact that we have A2DP when we shouldn't (thanks Microsoft  ) but I've read and reread every single thread about A2DP on the Prophet and I still can't get it to work the way it should.
Here's what i have: a Qtek S200 updated to the latest WWE Dopod ROM, with A2DP patch installed, and paired to a Bluetake I-Phono Mini (BT450Rx). I get both handsfree and stereo profiles as an option, and both work to a certain degree.
But here's the catch: I tried all the music players out there, and none even approaches a decent level of use:
- Media Player 10: best so far, but the Play/Pause button isnt working (only FF/REW), and when a call comes through, it answers on the headset, but when I hang up, the music resumes from the speaker of the Prophet and not the headset.
- Pocket Music: very buggy, skips a lot, and the AVRCP controls dont work.
- TCPMP: sound is fine, porbably the best, but once again, the controls for playback dont work.
Am I doing everything wrong, or is there really no way to get at least one of these to work?
Any thoughts/remarks/info etc would be appreciated.
thnaks, TDX
yeah, A2DP is a deal breaker for me, so I'm waiting waiting at this stage...(have yet to buy prophet)
So, no one has found a software combination that actually works?

After the call, the music will only resume at the begining of a track.
Therefore, hit your rewind or forward button to resume music.
Even with this, it's still not seamless.
Well, I have an S200 with the A2DP patch working in conjunction with my Plantronics Pulsar 590 Stereo headset and I'm really impressed with its performance. Hi-fi sound under WMP10 and PocketMusic. No skips even without overclocking. Flawless Calls in the middle of my music. Resumes perfectly.
Must be a problem with your headset brand.
Never been so happy with my PDA/Phone.
Best regards...

I don't think so.
I have the same problems with a Motorola Ht820.
If only some of us have this problem, we probably didn't install the fix properly.
What would be really cool, would be if someone could detail the exact steps needed to install A2Dp on the Prophet, enable AVRCP and get everything to work nicely. I know there have been other threads regarding this, but it's been a while since the patch came out, various people have posted different versions of it, new ROMs came out, so it all gets a little confusing.
It's really simple. I just used the attached file that I found over at i-phone forums. Read the simple instructions.

Ah. That's the registry edit method.
I installed mine the simpler way. Maybe the simpler way is not complete.
Thanks for the responses everyone. I actually spent some time and did some extra research/testing. Here's what I've narrowed it down to:
What works:
1. The A2DP works, as far as pairing, handsfree and wireless stereo go.
2. The AVCRP sort of works (only in WMP, othesr software apparently don't support it yet).
What doesn't work:
1. Play/Pause button in WMP. For some reason, FF/REW work, but not Play/Pause.
2. When I answer a phonecall with the BT450 while listening to music, it pauses the music, but when i hang up, the music reverts to the speakerphone (it loses the wireless audio status and i have to pair it again manually).
3. Finally, and I dont know if this is a bug or not, when I turn on the headset, it automatically establishes a wireless handsfree pairing, but not a wireless stereo (music) pairing. I have to go into settings and pair it manually EVERYTIME I want to listen to music. This sucks.
So, anyone else having the same three problems as me? Anyone has solutions to these.
I would be most eternally grateful.

Nope... It's not a manual regedit per se, it's all included on a .cab for easy application and a few other files to put in the Windows directory.
At least for me, it worked flawlessly while paired to my Plantronics gear.

You gotta be joking about HI-FI performance. I have the same headset and when it sounds really good with my ASUS W5A laptop with Toshiba BT stack it doesn't work all that well with Jamin. It sounds like it set to low quality mode. A2DP on Prophet that is.
Nope ID64, no jokes... It really is working for me perfectly even without overclocking.
Have you tried PocketMusic, because Media Player 10 sucks big time in all respects on the Prophet...
Are you sure you are pairing as Wireless Stereo profile? The first time I tried it, I mistakenly selected Hands-free profile and sounded just as you described.
ROM Version: 2.9.7.24 WWE
ROM Date: 2/9/06
Radio: 413.1.03
ExtROM: 2.9.7.106
A2DP Applied
Does PocketMusic have AVRCP controls though?

Not sure if it's implemented inside PocketMusic or in the A2DP profile itself but AVRCP do work in PocketMusic without a hitch. The Plantronics Stereo Headset controls work prerfectly, and the PocketMusic fade-out-fade-in feature sounds simply impresive!

I have a 8125 with a Nokia BH-600 bt headset. It works great when talking on the phone but I really want to listen to music too...
Is it possible to play music through the Nokia BT headset?
I have Media Player, Sound Recorder, and the CORE movie player but none of them play sound through the Nokia BH-600 headset! I also have a Moto H700 if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
I am not an expert on this topic so someone can correct me if im wrong, but you cannot play music through your bluetooth headset unless the headset is A2DP compatible. You also need the A2DP hack that can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263735&page=7
Anyway, to get an A2DP headset, look on eBay; you can normally find them for around 60-80 shipped, for a quality one. The hack is a cab file that just needs to be installed before pairing the headset.
Hope that helps.
Being dumb here... how does this hack work?
I posted the link in my above post. Basically, just download the hack, copy it over to you phone, and click on it using file explorer and it will install. I am pretty sure it just adds to registry tweaks and DLL certificates, but I am not 100% sure. All i know is that is works great! After the install and a soft reset, when you pair a A2DP headet, it will have the option for setting as wireless stereo. Take a look at the thread above for more information.
Ah, so then any audio that that gets produced on the phone gets streamed on to the BT headset?
Sounds promising. I was wondering if there was a way to get navigation commands to go through my car BT kit.
I also wanted to be able to do that, as I have a bluetooth speakerphone in my car. I do no think this is possible with just a regular bluetooth headset or speakerphone.
However, I do think if you have an A2DP headset the navigation sound will come through. I am not sure if your car kit is a speaker phone or a headset, but if you prefer a speakerphone in the car (as I do), I highly doubt it's possible, because I dont think anyway speakerphone is A2DP enabled. Nevertheless, people on this forum have done more amazing things so search around, you may find something.
And yes you are correct, after the pairing, any audio that gets produced by your phone will come via the headset (hence my thinking for navigation working with A2DP headsets)
Hmm, i have got a parrot ck3000. Not sure if it is A2DP compatible. Is this hack/cab file uninstallable? lol, im asking so many questions! I think i might just give it a try.
Heres a question (as these forums are a mess and i can never find anything), Is A2DP included in any of the latest roms? I am running the AKU2 rom that t-mobile last released, so i assume that some of the cooked roms are miles better.
your options
There are 2 ways to approach this issue:
1.) A2DP hack or updated ROM (for the best possible sound quality) needs an A2DP compatible headset/headphones or home BT transceiver.
2.) Mono BT hack for BT headset (you lose Voice Dial) has the lesser sound quality of the mono audio channel (the one you hear when on a phone call) See this tutorial for more details and options.
I highly recommend any and all BlueTooth articles by Menneisyys one of our Moderators.
See his articles on BlueTooth and more here.
Awsome! Thanks for the link to that article. I will give the BTAudioNav a try to see if this works how i want it to! Coolio! Thanks
Ah balls it. It looks like its just another constant streaming program. Shame, i would have loved to just get the commands to be said and then the radio wont be contantly cut out.
my 2cents
Just installed this .cab on my wizard (o2 xda mini s, G3 un-updated at all.)
Works a treat, I'd foolishly bought a a2dp headset without checking compatibility and now it is compatable.
Has anybody tried this BT headset on qtek 9100 with a2dp?? Whats the sound and volume compared with wired headset in package??
I will delete the tread after i get few answers.
thanks in advance
Anybody ?? Are these good heaphones???
They're the best headphones I've tried, but I don't really use A2DP very much. I can't compare them to the wired headset since I didn't get one with my eBay-purchased 9100.
"They're the best headphones I've tried"
Good to read that.
How dont u use a2dp?? What mp3 player do u use and what rom u have ??
I have the T-mobile MDA with their official 2.26 rom and use windows media player to play my mp3 files. The sound quality is good and the ability to use the audio controls while your phone is put away is very helpful for those bus rides or walking around campus. Using them as a headset for a phone call is a bit difficult with background noice, you have to speak up in order to be heard clearly. The sound tends to stutter a bit when using TCPMP to play movie files unless I have the MDA overclocked, but in all I consider it a good investment. I also invested in the Motorola bluetooth usb dongle and enjoy using the headphones while using my laptop as well. I'd have to say I was satisfied with my purchase.
Good. I get the headset in 1 week, will report about working, clear sound etc..
I read that the working lenght is about 70m in free land. Could u try that for me, please?? Or in whole house?!
I read also, that if u dont have a2dp is the mp3 sound bad, so how come, that u could listen without that "standard" - a2dp??
btw Thank u both for infos.
the headset is good. It works up to 10m, its comfortable and nice looking. good buy
It has been since I got a Magician that I would have liked to use a mono BT headset for listening to audio. Unfortunately, it seems it was not possible with WM2003.
When I got my new Polaris I immediately installed Teksoft BlueMusic (http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=bluemusic) and ... aargh, it did not work! (Why? Who knows.)
So I started searching around and I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358669 I downloaded BTAwm6.cab, installed it on the Storage Card and run it. Immediately the Media Player output sound moved from the speaker the BT headset. Eureka!
thank you for sharing.

Hello guys,
i have the BT headset Sony DS220 and it works well but i want to make it better. Is there any equalizer to increase the bass level for the device? I tried WOW HD but well, i didn't feel the difference.
thanks,
I have an HTC Mogul. I searched everywhere to find this file, but they all referenced a Triangle powers link that was defunct. I now am playing audio from Windows Media player over my Bluetooth headset in a Windows Mobile 6 environment. Thank-you very much.
Can anyone please point me towards a software equaliser that will work on the Touch (Elf) using bluetooth headphones
Many thanks
I dnt think there is a equalizer of tht sort, once i used TCPMP which has a equalizer. try it out.
thanks I will give it a go and report back
There is a eq for HTC Touch.
Its called ' Audio Booster ' made by htc and it is present in the ONYX 4.6 ultimate ROM but it only works for headphones, not speakers.
Thanks.
Thanks for that info Jeremy89632, that sounds a better bet as TCPMP looks a bit problematic and now unsupported.
However as your option means a ROM upgrade I am a little wary as I have never done anything like that. Can you, or anyone else, give me an idiots guide to updating my ROM please.
Audio booster is available by default in Touch..but it works only when a handsfree is connected to the phone..it doesnt work wit BT handsfree. giv it a try.
In regards to rom flashing, read the wiki or jump to elf upgrading section and do a study.
[email protected], I cannot find any equalizer on my touch either with or without BT, so I guess it is only available after the ROM upgrade. I will have a look at the wiki and see if I feel confident to have aa go
Audio poster is present in recent roms and it only work when the device is paired to BT headset or a carkit
there was an old prog called SRS WOW that work on device directly but it has limited functions

I own a Elfin and I do have the audio booster when I bought it. And this doesnt work when using a BT Handsfree. Works only with a wired handsfree.
AFA SRS WOW, it workd gr8 for my music in Elfin, but somehw or othr it played havoc on my in-call volume and ringin volume. So removed it.
music normally cannot be olayed on bluetooth you need a cab called BTaudio
Well, you can upgrade your ROM to the stock ROM if you worry, and if im not wrong, the stock rom contains audio booster.
