I assume you know that if you fill at least two GBs of the storage card with data you can then use it with the camera just fine.
Works Great with new Qtek Rom........And you do not need to have 2gb of data on card.....I only have 40 megs on mine....

I had the weirdest thing on my Trinity while in New York. I was on 3G and was surfing the net. Because I installed Memmaid 1.72 on my pda (main memory), i moved my temp file tp my Sandisk Ultra 2 Gigabyte mini sd card. I also installed Pocket Mechanics 2.23 on the main memory and did defragmentation of my mini sd card to optimize the speed. I did this several times. Mind you all is great, surfing was wonderful then all of a sudden while trying to access xda-developers.com from my pda on 3g Cingular, it froze and couldn't advance past 35 kb. I repeated it twice then gave up. I went to my mini sd and all the folders and files vanished. Even the programs I installed on the mini sd. When checking the insalled programs in the settings, they were still on my device but the actual files in the mini sd where gone so the program icons did not work. I am not sure what happened. So I formated the mini sd now and it went back to 1933 mgbs free on the card. Before formating it had 160 mbs in use but nio actual files visible when accessing the card. Does anyone know what happened to my card Is it a rom issue?
Thanks,
Gilbert
hi Gilbert
i am not sure about that, but for my experience I had the same idenctical problem after defragmented the external memory with pocket mechanic, so after loosed my data once again I dont use P.M. anymore and my problems now are solved.
Hope this helps

Yeah, I wouldn't use it either. I've found the best way to format my SD cards is to take them out of the device copy all the files to the pc using a card reader and format the card using Windows XP.
As per title, has anyone tried the fix yet:
SD Corruption fix
Cheers,
BS...
it's only for artemis (3300)
It says:
"Support: HTC P3600"
and has a:
"Related items
* P3300 SD card enhancement"
you are in right, but look inside cab, are OMAP850.dll file (the processor of 3300 NOT 3600)

i did...i've noticed faster access to the card and i can access the card without issue after the device has been in "sleep" mode for long periods of time.
Does this solve a "4GB card problem"?

The patch is for the Artemis.
It will have no effect at all on a Trinity.

HTC nor Orange don't intent to do anything about this by the looks of it. I spoke to both and Orange has no idea and HTC (UK) said that Trinity only supports up to 2GB cards. So I am now using two 2GB sandisc cards and had no probs since.

You installed in on Trinity, right?
Maybe not the best thread for this, but thought it might be of interest.
I have had 3 mini SD cards for my Orange M700 (Trinity/HTC 3600). An O2 branded 1Gb card worked fine. A 2Gb Transcend card was unusable, it would become corrupted after a few hours use. I tried reformatting many times to no avail.
After reading another thread which suggested that Topram cards seemed OK, I bought a 4Gb one which has been fine for about 3 weeks now. It was also the cheapest 4Gb mini SD card I could find on ebay!
Hello I have had a look at the wiki and still could not find the answer to my problem, so I decided to post.
I seem to be having trouble with my new Memory card for my TyTn. I just bought a 4gb microSDHC from the shop. I put a single song on it and put it in my phone. When I checked the memory it says this:
“Total storage card memory: Not installed”
Does this mean there is something wrong with the card or do I need to install something.
Cheers
Are you running a wm6 rom? high capacity sd is not supported on a stock tytn. Check the Windows Mobile 6 forum and look for a cooked rom that supports SDHC. I recommend the schaps 3.60a cooked rom. Been runnin it for a couple weeks now and im pleased with the speed/stability.
Thanks for your response Surrept, I have installed the schaps 3.60a-0823_full and the phone looks great now…but I still have the same problem with the memory, any other suggestions?
Umm, should I take the memory card back to the shop, and if so what is the best one that will work with my phone?
Can anyone help please

Last thing to try:
Reformat the card using the PC Fat 16 or 32
Check size shown on PC is correct.
Try again on your Hermes.
If it does not show up, reset with the card in place.
Try again.
If it fails again - do a hard reset with the card in place.
If all that fails, then return to the shop. There is no more you can do. Since the card is not faulty, you will be a bit at their mercy. It will be a gamble to get another 4gb card, a 2 may be safer. However if it's the contacts in the phone then no card will work correctly.
Mike
Thanks!
My friend had a look at the phone and said he had no idea what to do, he handed it back and the card just started working! Wow! Is it great how that works some times.
I have a strange problem ...
Whenever I create a file larger than 2MB on my memory card to cut the process and I must remove the card so that they recognize.
Likewise, for programs on 2GB.
In the Cardreader the card works without any problem ...
Sorry for my bad english...
I hope it is understood what is meant
Nobody knows what the problem might be?
it would help if you will indicate which brand of mem card are you using, how long have you've been using it, memcard size (capacity), etc.
I'm guessing your card maybe in need of reformatting.
I got a new 8GB MicroSDHC (kingston),
and I received this error several times, on several occations,
even after re-formatting the card in the HD2.
Most of the time, it occured after writing to the StorageCard while connected with "ActiveSync" and using windows (XP) explorer to write to the card.
Another occation was when I tried moving files (with the device's file explorer) from one directory to another on the storage card.
I have tested the card - "Search for bad sectors" (with the HD2 connected as a storage device) - and the report came out clean.
Did anyone else encountered this ?
Does the hotfix for the storage card has anything to do with this ?

The hotfix for the storage card was to address the issue with 8gig+ cards when the camera application miscalculated the amount of storage space left for photos or video capture.

Ok, So I guess the hot-fix would not fix this.
Thanks for the reply.

Oh, another thing -
it hapened mostly (maybe only) after the card had more than (or close to) 2GB in use.
(Up to ~ 2 GB, everything seemed to work just fine)
That sounds like a dodgy card. You can reprogram the cards to say they have more memory on them than they actually do.
Where did you get it from? (Please don't say eBay )
Edit:
Try this - with the HD2 connected as a storage device, fill the card with 8GB worth of files (or near enough), and make sure you can copy all those files back off. If that doesn't work then it's the card and it will need to be replaced.

That's a nice Idea.
I'd try it.
No, I did not buy it from eBay.
I bought it in a store that I buy computer stuff from for several years . . .

That's good then. At least if there is a fault in the card then you can take it back. If you trust the store though, I'd doubt they'd be selling spoofed cards.

Well, I did just that.
I went there, and requested a replacement.
We (the store's lab guy and me) checked the card, in the device, and in a card reader - in both it acted the same.
The interesting thing is - we tried 2 more cards (of the same brand and type) - the other two acted just the same.
I still have to check this with a different brand card and see how things turn out . . .
