Hi - i can assign custom ringtones for incoming calls.. but not for text messages.
Anyone know how i can change this?
Thanks guys.
(Running on XDA mini S with ROM: 2.16.9.1 WWE)
Place the wav/mp3 etc you want assigning to an SMS tone in the Windows directory, these will then appear in the list for assigning to SMS/Alarms etc
i have tons of wavs in that directory that do not show up when i try to change the notification in Sound Notifications. Anyone know what im missing?
have u tried place the wav to \windows\rings\ ?
PS:the wav files should be within certain bitrates.
yup... if u do that it will work for incoming calls... but NOT FOR TEXT MESSAGES... still haven't figured out how to for texts
I've placed some MP3s in the Windows directory on the device and it works for SMS's. Not sure about wav files though.
how are you assigning the sms sounds? through "sounds and notifications"? cause if i place an mp3 in the windows directory, it does not show up as a selection. i assume it can only read .wav
Hi there can any1 help me out on this.I'm having truble hearing received txt messerges.Allso can't here the alarm.
I was wondering if there is any chance that I can use my ring tones and my alarms and received txt messerges like I do on my old p900 even reall tunes are not a problem.
If you can do this where do I put my rig tones what fold to thay go in so I can use them for what I need them for.I guess that I would have to put them into two different folders one for reciving txt messerges and one for alarm.
I cant seem to find the folders with the tunes allready in them that are allready in the phone. For using recived txt messerging or and alarms that are allready on the phone.Maybe if I could find them I mite be able to add my tunes to both of them.
Please help me out
thanx

You put your ringtones into the device\windows\rings folder. The format can be anything from mp3, wav, midi, wma
For email notification, your sound file MUST be in wav format, and should be placed in device\windows folder. You can appoint the new wav sound to be the default notification sound under Settings/Sounds & Notifications
For alarms, the sound file also MUST be wav. Put it under device\windows. Set up the alarm using the time applet on the Today screen
Hope that helped
Thanx for your help ill try that.If I can't get it to work ill let u. know thanx mono33
Hi does the wav sound need to be put into a folder in the device\window settings.Thanx mono33
All the WAV sound files must be in device\windows, not a subfolder (otherwise they won't show up in settings/sound¬ifications)
Ringtones must be put device\windows\rings (WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG...)
It won't hurt to experiment a bit, does it?
I was wondering if someone with a Tytn or similar device send me the audio files for rings and notification?
Hey guys!
Does anyone know, where one can get proper alarm notifications is .wav format?
The default PPC notfifications for alarms, is the same as the sms/ email notifications. I would like to have something ordinary, that sounds like an alarm......
Any ideas?
Thanks peeps!
you could always make your own, just cut peice from some song or somthing that you like and save it as a .wav file.
The alarms taken from the diamond are quite nice
I have 3 wave files located in my windows folder so i can use them with the alarms and incoming text messages.
after about 2 days the alarm and the incomming text message will sound a very diffirent sound and my wav files are corrupt.
I overwrite them again and then its all good for another 2 days.
anyone else has this problem?
