Camera Landscape Problem!

I had to send my compact away for repair to HTC Europe based in Milton Keynes? It has now come pact but when I use the camera it always starts in landscape mode and I can't see to change or find a setting to change it to portait!
Is the a simple reg edit to sort it out or do I need to upgrade the camera rom?

The latest camera software update has this feature. Maybe they have flashed your device with latest ROM, and camera became landscape only... This is one way to "correct" it - install the old version of CameraWizard.cab (search it in this site). But remember: your current ROM is the latest new! If it works great, better don't touch it! :wink:

If you press the Contacts button (left of the D-Pad), it will switch between the different angles.
Personally I've started getting used to the landscape view, but I use this to change sometimes.
If you want to go back to the old camera, it's still there on the new rom, but you have to do hard reset and stop the TMobile customizations. Search on the forum for full instructions on how to do this.

thanx a million! Now i know we can do that with the Contact key...actually by pressing CALANDER key...it leads to the setting page... 8)

XDA Exec - POP3 mailbox

Hi
I have a question that I am hoping someone maybe able to help me with! It is pretty much the only problem i am having with my Exec - when i have setup my POP3 mailbox, it appears in messaging ok, and will work fine for a time. Then one day i will go back into messaging to do a send/recieve and the whole folder has vanished!
When I go to set this up again with the same name, the device says it already exist, but it isn't anywhere to be seen.
There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this, i have the latest O2 ROM version and have done a hard reset, which has not helped.
Does anyone else have this problem. Any resolution would be welcome - this one is pecking my head!

Good to know I am not the only one - thought i was seeing things.
Hopefully this bug will be fixed in a future ROM release if many people are having the problem.

No prob mate, had this problem for over a week and it gave me pure hell...managed to fix it though with a little effort
Just bare in mind, always soft reset using software buttons (like SPB pocket plus) and any time you soft reset be ready to reset again if a "no gsm" appears where your ROM version should

Problem with taskbar icons

Hi,
I've got an O² XDA Neo and since a few days I've got problems with the icons in the taskbar. It looks like they were covered by something. At the moment there is no speaker-icon and a half of the mobile-network icon. I had installed the MagicButton software before and the problem accurs first after I deinstalled it. I tried with Resco to clean the registry manually, but I guess there were no more entrys according to Magic Button software. I don't know what do. Has someone heard of a similar problem or does someone have a solution for this problem?

Have you tried a Hard Reset. That should restore the device back to factory settings

Lost touch screen capability on Sprint HTC Touch

Noob alert here. Have pretty technical i.t. skills but somehow managed to blow this one big time.
Lost touch capabilities after running KaiserTweak to remove annoying SMS sent notification.
Is this a known issue? Did I do something dumb? LOL... any advice here would help, really don't want to hard reset after I got everything to work how I want.
**Just a thought, could it have been the sensitivity settings set to Ultra @ 600? I tried changing this key manually using Mobile Registry Editor but am not getting access rights to change it. Guessing some of these reg tweaks were designed specifically for the Kaiser? Maybe that caused a hiccup... help if you can-- Would REALLY appreciate it.

Will seriously Paypal someone 10 bucks to help me fix this LOL.

Ok so i just bought my new HD2 Just arrived last week, And Yah its freezing like most are, I have heard numerous fixes to this I guess flashing Roms or installing apps. I dont know if this thread is in the right category, but can someone help me fix the phone so it doesnt freeze everyday when i use texts and run smoother overall? I dont know how to flash roms or tweak any of these replies can someone help me please? I tried Custom window home tabs app but it got rid of the home screen so i took it out.. please someone help me .... i have yahoo, aim and msn messenger email or just reply on here ? thanks guys

try HR-hard reset.
1.turn your phone off
2.press and hold volume up&down buttons same time and turn your phone on
it will reset and restore it to the factory settings

I was in the same position 4 months ago... it's a steep learning curve!
In no particular order:
1. Get your phone and PC hooked up with activesync.
2. Learn how '.cab' files work - you basically just transfer them to your phone (I use activesync) and run them to install various things.
3. Get Resco Registry - this is a registry explorer which I find very intuitive and useful for changing registry values.
4. Have a look around this site, notably the tweaks threads, and see what you like.
5. When you are comfortable with the handset, look into upgrading your ROM. I started on Vodafone 1.43 ROM, but have since upgraded to Vodafone 1.66 ROM. It is very easy to upgrade to official ROMs (at least it was for Vodafone) - I image the manufacturers will give you a step-by-step guide.
6. Get Cookie's Home Tab!

Can you tell what ROM/Radio/Manila version you are currently on?
(Go to settings/about phone/software information)

I don't know where you got the idea that most phones are freezing, because if that was the issue this phone would not be nearly as popular as it is.
* If you got the phone from your provider go to them.
* Try a hard reset, make no changes (tweaks, software installs) and see if the problem is gone. If so then something you did is causing the problem.
* Find a stable ROM in the development forum and learn to flash, it's very easy.
