Using Treo 700w plugins on a universal? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Is it possible to run the homescreen plugins that the treo uses on a universal? some of the features look pretty useful!

Someone made a really nice Google Search today screen plug-in like the one for the treo: http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc/blog/comments.php?y=05&m=12&entry=entry051204-182826

So basically this is the only one that works yet: Speed Dialing Today Plugin, for the Universal.

Launcher Idea: Launcher from Treo 500v

does anyone have the launcher application from the new Treo 500v? or is it possible to extract it from the smartphone (WM6 - standard - non-touchscreen) then make it usable on our WM6 PPCs?
it looks uber cool and the category groups looks intuitive and easy to navigate.. and it's organized and looks neat..
i like the way that the favorite contacts is also integrated in the launcher and the recent programs used and running applications also have their own group..
here's a video of the treo 500v launcher
http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/16/treo-500v-sports-a-revamped-windows-mobile-interface/
OR
can anyone make a similar carousel/ribonized app launcher like that of the Treo 500v?
with the ability to customize the categories/groups and its contents? and also icons..
Anyone?
...bump...
Anyone had a chance to look at this? Maybe strip it out of a Treo 500v and see if its compatible with other devices?
don't bother with the launcher... slow slow and cripples the phone
I have the Treo 500v and am not impressed by the improvements Vodafone/Palm have made through the launcher.
It may look cool, but in operation, it's slow and takes to long to get to what you need.. it also seems to have disabled any way of configuring the button on the side for quick access to apps like outlook..
If I could strip off the launcher and give it to someone I'd be happy.. otherwise it's back to my trusty old Blackberry which means I'm crippled on the calendar front wirelessly, but can at least navigate to the apps I want quickly.
I'd like to test it...
It could work better in our ppc then the smartphone version.....

touch cube???

I saw that in the developing session they made a touch cube look a like application, but works for wm5-6....do you think it will be possible to have one for wm2003??
No it's not possible 'cause TouchFLO uses some files which aren't available for WM2003SE, I think!
at the end with our "fantastic specifications" of the Alpine but with wm2003, we can't try anything that could be useful...
.I think at the end I will take an HTC TOUCH CRUISE!!!
I should say that I am trying the spb pocketplus 4 and all smart scrolling (like iphone and Htc touch) are working...so why you say that it is not possible to have cube on wm2003 device???
They could do the same job they are doing for all other device without touchflow technology
i would also like the cube for wm2003, im using spb pocket plus 4 as well, & love the scrolling! is there any possible way for the cube to work on wm2003?? even a launcher? or somthing?
how can i activate the smart scrolling on spb 4
how can i activate the smart scrolling on spb 4?
Try this application, Slither2006's cube, SCLPC++. The latest version is WM5 only but he has released aversion which works just fine on my Alpine, the only caveat is that you can't use a finger swipe to start the application, just assign it to a button and you are good to go. All the other rotations etc are done withing the application itself.

Must Have Apps to install

Since I got my Touch Dual I haven't really installed any apps on it at all. Do you guys have any recommendations of Software to install? I'm not really into games, but any cool, geeky, or useful stuff would be great..
I'd like to have Adobe Flash Player LIte 3, but no way to find it....
<sigh>

Hi mini_man,
Can you help me with the phone skin, I saw you used the HTC Dialer Skin, I read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311557, that there were some problems, using alot of memory and no video calling and loosing the G & 3G top icons and uninstall problems, I am not concerned about the Video calls as I never do them and I hate the touch Dual standard phone interface, I just want the normal clean looking interface. Are you having any problems with yours and where did you get it? THanks.
Your looking at the wrong dialer.

This one works fine and has video etc. It was taken from the the HTC Touch Dual Rom.

Gathering thoughts on the Treo Pro

Hello,
I use to be an active participant in the past on the Wizard forums but I changed cell companies and now I am with Sprint and the owner of a new Treo Pro.
I am just curious what software people are using on their Treo Pro. I use to run all kinds of freeware programs but I have been out of the Windows Mobile scene for a while.
I bought this phone about 3 months ago. It has worked well for me, but I don't like the screen. I was used to the HTC home program, which will work on the PRO, but I dont feel like adding the extra cabs to make it work. I did add a weather program I used to use on my TyTN (Tonya weather app.) Other than that I have added the usual Google maps and live search, and Live for Hotmail. I hope the GPS works better on your Sprint version. (I have the GSM) I had to add HTC GPS tool to make mine work. This is a no frills phone, aimed at the business person, that being said I do like how thin this phone is, and the battery time is good.
That really depends on what your goal is with a device. If you want to use it for e-mail mainly than you might not be interested in navigation software.
Maybe you should be more specific?
ms facebook app
youtube app
twikini
kinoma
newsbreak rss reader
tcpmp player
opera mobile
skyfire
google search
wunder radio
total comander
skype
resco explorer
iris browser
google maps
ibrowz
audio notes
this are some of my most frequent used apps. hope this helps.....
The Treo Pro has no problems with these programs. Only downside would be the screen size. But I use RealVGA to compensate for that

Plugin to work with PocketBreeze (and Manilla Control)

Hi there!
I have decided that I need something more business oriented for my diamond's today screen, so I am using Manilla control to work with pocket breeze (in order to get best of both worlds). Now what I need is a plugin which works well on my diamond, pocket breeze and manilla control and gives you time, missed calls and smss. I have tried to install the HTC Home plugin but i had to hard reset the phone ... since it did not want to get past startup! Thats why I decided to ask this time...
I m sure you have plenty of options and ideas ... maybe you could post a screenshot too of the application you propose...
Thanks,
Franklin
I'm in the same situation as you, I don't think you'll find a solution to directly integrate PB into TF3D. You'll have to change to another user interface that supports 3rd party plugins eg. Wisbar AD and a few others.
It's a shame HTC didn't include 3rd party plugin support in the new TF3D 2.
Yeah
Yesss... I know that you can't use both ... what I am asking is what plugin (3rd part) is compatible with manilla controller (used to switch between touchflo and today screen) and pocket breeze to add some phone info!
You mentioned on program there ..are there anyother ones worth mentioning? I wanted a HTC Home Plugin sort of effect (missed calls, sms and a clock)
Thanks for any replys.
Well for notifications, missed calls, SMS, Emails etc I use PhoneAlarm by PocketMAX, the latest version has many different types of skins etc and itself is a fairly powerful program.

And this is an alternative one:
