Hello,
I have heard of people with other phones talking about wirelessly controlling there phone from there computer to turn on an off the video recorder and being able to use there phone as a spy device. I don't necessarily need to spy on anyone but, was wondering if anyone has worked on setting up the T-mobile MDA to being able to do this and actually send what it is recording to the computer like a webcam?
If anyone knows more about this I would be interested in seeing how it works and trying to make my phone a webcam and or a spycam if possible. Thanks.
Works on my qtek:

I have a working piece of soft:
[edit] Funny, their sire reads:

CONFIDENTIAL, NOT FOR PUBLIC DISPLAY. DEMO SITE ONLY.

It works, I have this to say:
1. I placed a shortcut to it in my STARTUP so it starts upon bootup, do you have any idea how I can make it start MINIMIZED?
2. As with all similar programs, the other party sound is with lower volume, but still can hear it
3. Records are in some internal format and can be played only with this program
Other the that I like it and it can be useful to you
Also note that in your country it may be illegal to record the conversations.
I use it mainly when someone call me with directions to some place ot phone numbers and so..
Something seems kinda fishy here, I highly doubt a company would post anything "highly confidential" and "not for public display" on PUBLIC INTERNET. Anyone else try this program? Seems like it could contain some malware/virus etc..

I don't know what it is but it works on my PPC
do a google and it will pop-up on several other forums.
Well sounds fishy for me too...
Anyone else tried it?
this program only works if you have your speaker loud enough for your microphone to pick up the sound from it. I talked to their tech support last month and it went something like this.
> i've been playing around with pmvault and pm recorder on an htc wizard
> phone. Vault works flawlessly and is so convenient. Recorder doesn't
> record incoming audio though. My voice can be heard fine, but not the

The Wizard does not support the dual audio path. the HTC Tornado and Cingular 2125 both support it, but the PPC Wizard does not. Sorry about that. It is a hardware limitation on the device.
as already has been said,
the wizard will only record the audio picked up by the microphone,
if the speaker is loud enough the sound is picked up.
You may also want to read http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=513&more=1 on this subject - it gives a nice overview of what you can expect from PPC PE devices and what applications there're to (even automatically) record phone calls.
from my understanding it must be possible to access the incoming GSM audio stream - somehow it must be handed over to the CE-side, as the bluetooth driver also gets that stream - or did I get it wrong??? *confused*
Mamaich says that the GSM audio is wired directly into the bluetooth hardware.

so does that mean it is also not possible to record a phone call if you are using a BT headset?
Or a little bluetooth device that does the recording? ...
Hi
I'll explain what the situation is: I recently altered my carstereo system. I now have a carstereo that has my MDA Vario hooked up to it. Now I play mp3's and video's on my Vario and the sound goes through my sound system. (I'll post some pictures and a full spec soon). And while playing with it I had a great idea.
It should be possible to use my Orange C500 as a bluetooth romote control for my vario.
I know that there are bluetooth input devices around like keyboards and gamepads. so it should be possible to make an application that turns a HTC Typhoon in to a input device. Plus there are applications that use your bluetooth connection to vontrol your PC. so it should be possible.
Could someboddy PLEAAAASEEE help me with this?? I think I won't be the only one who could use this app.
Like I've said before. If I could program I'd gladly do it myself but I can't
so PPPPLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEE someone help??

I am using Cingular which is not planning to support video conferencing (at least until the competition forces them to). Can anyone tell me how to tweak or otherwise turn on the front video camera -- not sure if it can be used other than in video calls but I'm curious to see since I've never actually tried it.
Thanks!
I've been scouring google trying to look for something that works like this:
1) ALL audio from your computer is streamed to your PPC.
AND
2) You can use your PPC as a wireless mic for your computer.
In essence it'll work as a wireless voice communicator with your laptop. Is there anyway to do this? I've tried using bluetooth, but the computer software I have wouldn't allow me to use my phone as a 'headset' only to transfer files and create a DUN. So if anyone know of any computer software or PPC software that would help me achieve this, it would be greatly appreciated. It could be through BT, WiFi or Data. I just need something that works.
My purpose for this is that I like to play games, listen to music, and even voice chat (ventrilo) and I would like to be able to still hear what's going on on my computer while I'm grabbing a glass of water or taking a bio-break.

Found a method that works, but it in very poor quality. First thing is to install Skype .18 beta onto your phone (only version that works on the Titan) and to install Skype on your computer also. You will need to create 2 accounts for both the phone Skype & PC Skype. Now configure your computer Skype to reroute all audio to go through the microphone input. Call either devices from the other device and initiate voice chat. You should be able to hear your computer from your phone, but in very low/poor quality. When you speak into the phone you can hear yourself on your computer. A headset is suggested.
This is what I found to work so far, still trying to search for a better way of doing this. I've been able to stream quality music from the computer and voice to the computer, but never both at the same time yet.
Here's link to Skype .18 beta:

I'd like to know if it's possible as well...for some reason my speakers arent being recognized by windows (i freaking hate MS!!) so it'd be nice to use BT to use my phone as speakers (that and so i could wander around the house)
if it support audio gateway it could work of cause
to enable it one would have to quit the game
and change pref'd device in audio settings in pc
control panel and restart the game
audio gateway would mean to go through BT. I'm sure the titan is able but its the bt software on the computer end that's crappy (got my bt adapter for $4). I'm looking for alternatives if possible.
i paid a few pretty pennies for my BT device (it wasn't overly expensive, it was a good deal at the time), and it came with a disc that had blue soleil on it. Well, it kept telling me i needed to register or somthing, but wouldnt let me. So i got rid of it. I bet B.Soleil would work though, maybe i'll dig it back up.
found all of my original documentation and disks with B.S. on it. They gave me a trial version. I paid for a usb dongle with blue tooth and B.S. gave me an eval copy. Okay, no wonder people hack/crack stuff. Idiots like that. I hope they die in a fire.
lol yea i think mine is blue soleil too, not sure if its a full copy or eval copy. all i know is its crap and won't let me do what i want.
yeah, i smashed my blue soliel disk out of anger. i tried it first, and it wouldnt let me stream music to my headset or my phone, so whatever. I dont even need that program to transfer files, i have BT drivers on my computer already.
well if you do manage to find a working BT software be sure to share ;D
Really?...

he's LOOKING for an app that does it.
I'm trying to look into a A2DP server solution, though I doubt it's possible for the PPC to 'serve' audio to the computer.
ive already posted this at ppcgeeks, and figured that it doesnt hurt to post here too. hopefully i can get a quick response
it might have been discussed already, but i really need to know now. i dont really have time to search through 1000 threads that have the word recorded in it. is there a prog that will allow me to record the conversation into an mp3 or something, or is there a compatible voice recorder that i can plug in the mini usb? OR.... does anyone know of a sprint phone that i could do this with? its that important that i would be willing to pay the loot to switch phones to do this.
thanks you sooooo much for any help or useful advice

Haven't tried any of them but they may get you headed in the right direction... I'd start with the Resco option... last link.
this is tricky business. i researched for a while into recording calls and tried Resco Audio Recorder and LivePVR. the problem here is that these programs don't consider the earpiece to be a source for audio. they both require that the speakerphone be on, however if it isnt on before the call is made then the software does not recognize any source, and being fast enough to turn the speakerphone on IMMEDIATELY is damn near impossible. the closest i got was with LivePVR, but i wasnt able to record everything i wanted to. as far as i can tell there isnt any way to get the speakerphone on before a call, so you might be SOL here unless there is something im missing
ok...i bought a mini usb BT adapter at Walmart that has exactly what you want as a service.....its blue and looks like a little mushroom...i could get more details for ya if needed.......but you can run a voice service through your pc and then record in any program....you talk through your laptop/pc microphone.....
