Guys... somebody wants to sell me this black (dove) casing for my XDA Mini. He said that its original. I tried to search O2 sites and couldn't find any info on O2 releasing Black (Dove) version of XDA Mini (He said that it is released in Europe). Can anyone verify?
Re:Black Dove Housing
@seraph
The Housing isn`t original because the logo in the right front cover isn`t xda II Mini
Actually, if u zoom the pic there is XDA II MINI logo on the upper right part. However, can anyone post an official link containing the XDA Mini Black (Dove) Version? Well the color is very nice but I don't wanna waste money on a fake case.
@ seraph
I assure you: there is no XDA Mini Black (Dove) version released in Europe (I'm from Germany)
I only found this on an O2 site:
http://www.seeo2.com/product/XdaIIm...m;jsessionid=8826CAE4048DD3DBEA3A242CB6D5B98F
How much is it? Looks nice.

I've guessed it.. it's a fake.. but a good one though.. He asked for $80. I think it's too much. Thx guys for the info..
it may not a be a fake maybe is resprayed.
In Germany it´s called o2 XDAmini VelvetBlack Limited Edition...
And you can can order the device(only the device,no cover) on www.o2online.de
fake or real.. it looks good from the pic..

black velvet XDA mini
I actually have the exact same coloured XDA mini - I am sure it is not a fake. They sold as a special in Germany for a while. Only paid EUR70 for the whole thing with a new contract though ...
it's called black velvet
you can try open this link to chek it if it's fake or not :

Good luck,

I have exactly the same one as well ......... O2 version from germany but purchased in china crazy eh and the front and back are metal as per normal silver magician......
i bought a black one on ebay - an it seems to be a fake.. well a quite good one, bout it doesnt fit exactly (much larger gap between housing and display, the net-indikation led didn`t fit well.. and so on). the printings differ from other pictures i found on the net, the printing quality insn?t really good, and the best thing: on the cover-plate over the antenna, i can see the original anthrazit color after it got a scrach..
would never buy something like this again - especially from ebay
O2 MINI HOUSINGS AT CNN
Here are all the available OEM housings for the MINI - I would be careful purchasing housings off Ebay, as most are knockoffs and have a poor fit. CNN is an aftermarket parts store out of Hong Kong. They are reliable and sell only the highest quality OEM parts. I have used them no less than a half a dozen times in the past two years.

hello,
has anyone purchased such a xda mini housing: http://cnn.cn/shop/dopod-e818o2-mini-original-titan-housing-p-689.html from this store. are they really original or just oem?
from the picture you can`t tell for sure if its a real one:
and: is the plastic part that is used to transfer the light from the status-indikation-led (the one near the speaker) included

I think it depends on your own interpretation of 'oem'. They are not 'original' as o2 do not sell them directly. I recently got into trouble with Orange UK's legal team for selling SPV fascias as 'original' - they are not 'original' because the holder of the copyright to the logos on the items says they are not, despite being identical made by the 'oem' factory.
oem - original equipment manufacturer units should be the same as original apart from licensing / distribution.
So your question should be - 'are they oem or copy units'?
The black o2 xda mini fascias I have had from Hong Kong have been OEM.

Thanks

Have a look here. Worked for me when I had to strip my 2i down.

I got the screen from here, http://www.runpda.com/ , it cost £93.00
including shipping. But I got stung by customs for £38.00 Tax, rip-off, so it cost me £131.00 in total. I've bought from this part of the world before and not been charged by taxman, its just the luck of the draw.
Someone suggested this place in the UK, but I had already ordered, if anybody tries this one, post costs etc for everyone. Mobile Repair Centre in London. 177a North end road 0207 610 3103.
I've dismantled my XDA IIi and the new screen is in and she is working fine now, I'm so happy. Thanks to all
There are so many scratchs on my devices both sides and I want to change its original case. Does anybody know where can I find its original case online?
Don't think there are original case. You try to search for Magician Case in this forum. There are other sellers selling the case and some of them seems to be good.
thanks, I order from ebay

try to find it at www.brando.com
it cost's 60$
If you happen to visit Bangkok or have a friend there, you could get housings for the Mini from MBK. The shops there sell the full housing for 1000 Baht (about US$26). Don't thik they are original, but looks pretty good. I changed mine 3 weeks ago to a black and it looks cool. So its now a "Limited Edition O2 Mini Black"
Does anyone know where I can get a writeshield for my XDA Exec in the UK?
So far I have only found Expansys and they are very expensive...
Can anyone recommend somewhere better? Big bonus points if they also do a car charger for under £10.
I've been safe and happy with ebay... but with selected retailers.
I just ordered an invisibleSHIELD for my PSP, I'll try to review it shortly. Including worldwide delivery = £8. Apparently indestructable and lifetime replacement.
V
My problem is that I don't know what screen size the Exec is, or which will fit it. I was just saying writeshield because I'd previously had one for my Alpine and it was very good.
Basically I just want a decent screen protector for under £10 excluding delivery, I'm open to suggestions.
I have the one from proporta & am very pleased only cost £5.95 see this page
http://www.proporta.com/search.php?q=xda+exec&button=Go
dont worry about uk... just go to Shop brando and get one from the guy in Hong Kong. He has great customer service - i have had several screen protectors from him over the years!
http://shop.brando.com.hk/ultraclearscreenprotector.php
I've used Brando screen protectors for years. They're not available in the UK, but you can get them mail order from HK - http://shop.brando.com.hk
They usually arrive within 2 or 3 days of order.
I personally prefer the UltraClear version.
Reteb
i Agree! I like the smoothness of the silky one, but the ultra clear is very clear indeed!

Look, I have purchased it from Spanish Expansys with the JJ itself in September 2005. Used it for dome time, it wasn't very practical so I ditched it for the O2's that I have bought in London. And now it proved itself useful after all...
Here is screen cap of the Spanish Expansys purchase of mine where you can see the name of the product etc... I have attached some pics as well. Hope it helps...

Hey just saw your youtube vid. Great!
Hello Christian,
Here is a link where I bought my XaX Leather case back on 11/21/2006 which is my second one. My original XaX leather case I had purchased in September of 2005 from Expansys or Mobileplanet. They do not sell these anymore. I just checked out the website which you still can purchase the "XaX Leather Case". Best case I have seen yet for Qtek 9000 Pocket PC Phone Edition. http://www.qtekphonestore.com/accessoryDetail.asp?itemMDL=Qtek_9000&itemName=Qtek%209000&accMDL=CASE_JASJAR_XAX&sameAs=IMATE_JASJAR
Sincerely,
Robert
I managed, with little bit of force and patience to fit JJ in O2's cover. It is a bit tight but I expect that it will stretch a bit in the future, if the magnetic button doesn't give way before. It is a bit tough to pull it out of the cover...
Here are the pics and video... Don't know the model of this one, bought it in O2's shop...

If the video doesn't appear, be patient, since Youtube takes sometime to process the video...
My X2 fell from the pouch case and as i result it endured some minor scratches in its housing. Now i can't get over seeing it and wanter to replace it. I went to SE service center here in our place (Pampanga, Philippines) but they told me they weren't allowed to open such device because of their level 2 accreditation.
They gave me and address and a contact number of the center which is allowed to do so. I first contacted the service center and asked for the price if ever i will purchase new housing and casings. I saw housings in the internet being sold prior to that.
But to my surprise, according to the technical representative that responded to my text, they don't have replacement housing for this device. And told me the ones i saw in the internet are not original and is not advisable to buy it. (though the seller from that site claims that its original)
Guys, are there any original housing in your respective country? Or if u happen to know any site which is selling it.
Please don't hesitate to post it here. Thank you so much.
When you say internet, you mean off eBay? If its coming from China, guaranteed its NOT OEM (Original). I've replaced a housing on an X1, and it did not fit, the quality of the housing was POOR. I guess it can include the X2.
But if you are super desperate, you could purchasing online, just make sure you know what pieces you are getting, and making sure you actually get all of them.
Honestly, I have not seen any X2 housings yet online for sale. Good luck.
tnx dude.
Nope, it's not from ebay. i forgot the website though. I'm still trying to locate it.
I'll post it here if i got lucky.

I am curious too what kind of a challenge replacing the entire housing would be.
