Try performing a soft reset with the SD card out.
If its still the same try it with the SD card and SIM card out.
Dopod 900 reset problem
Thks. I've tried reset with the SD card out but still have the same problem. Removing the sim card would not be a viable solution (assuming it works.. haven't try) given the need to reset frequently to regain from memory leakage.

Hi,
I have been using a TwinMOS 128MB MMC since the day i've got my XDA2 which is Last Dec.
i haven't had any problems with it, until lately, i have been encountering this error...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Unrecognized Card"
"Enter the name of the device driver for this card. For
Information, see the card manufacturer's documentation"
[Unknown card in Socket 1 ]
[OK] [Cancel]
---------------------------------------------------------------------
have anyone of you encountered this before? and how did you solve it?
Upgrading my ROM from 1.03 -> 1.60 didn't help, still got that error.
ROM : 1.60.00WWE
ROM : 12/03/03
Radio : 1.08.00
Protocol : 1337.18
Ext : 1.60.44
My XDA2 has got the backpack installed as well.
Thanks for your help
Well thats the same error that i have got with my CF GPS Card
that i have install into my backpack
If you get a fix please let me know
I just realised that by removing my MicroDrive in the backpack and soft resetting it, the error doesn't come out anymore.
but the microdrive used to be working very well....
hmmmm
Realised my BackPack is loosening, a little shake would result in connection and disconneciton of my backpack
anyone with anyway to secure it?
I had a similar problem with backpack that I solved installing Pocket Mechanic. In Storage folders you name "secure digital card folder name" like Secure Digital, and "MMC card folder name" like MMC and the problem disappear. If you have programs installed in the SD or MMC you will have to return to install them.
Sorry by my bad English
Hi all,
Following problem:
- Qtek 2020 (or 2020i), combined with a SD-card , TomTom Navigator 5 and own software
1. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, TomTom 5
2. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, own software
3. Qtek 2020(i) works fine with SD, TomTom 5 and own software ONLY WHEN THE SD-card is slow (less then 40x)
We tested much different SD-card with different chipsets and only the real slow cardtypes work. The problem is that those cards aren't available anymore on the market, so we are looking for a solution to slow-down the SD I/O speed to the card.
How can this be done in Windows Mobile 2003 (se)??
Thanks for any solution or tricks to solve this problem!
Sam
I assume, the cause with the telephone.
Please once TT starts and uses the telephone. TT will freeze.
My alpine used to freeze when a call or text message was received whilst an SD card was inserted.
After upgrading the Radio rom from 1.00 to 1.04, this problem ceased. What version of radio ROM is on your alpine? If it is not 1.04 then this may help.
I use also the version 1.04
There is problem of corrupt SD card with Artemis.

I have same problem with P4350 (Herald) micro SD Card SanDisk 2 Gb.
I bye it 2 weeks ago and yesterday all files at SD card missing. I recovered some files by R-Studio software.
No TomTom software, but installed Resco Explorer.
i have the exact same problem with my sandisk 2gb card on the p4350 (the same card i use in my hermes where it works perfectly for about 4-5 months). it always happens when i save data to the card with a softreset following (f.e. backup). the card isn't recognized anymore or has folders with strange characters on the sdcard). then i remove the card, do a SR and put the card back in afterwards. after that everything is fine again.
very strange.
I plan to send letter to HTC suppurt.
lucky for me i spotted this then, i was about to order a 2gb card but i'll think i'll go with the 1gb instead.
incidently is anybody working with a 2gb card with no problems?
it's not a problem of the sd card but of the p4350. the card works perfectly in the hermes for months.
so why would a 1GB sd card work perfectly and a 2gb not when the sd card itself is definetly not the problem?
Here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285511
says, that no problem with 512 Mb cards only.
Hi,

I got a reply from HTC Support:
Hello Milen,
Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
We have seen this problem before on the HTC P3300. Currently we have escalated this issue to our R&D team in Taiwan, and they are investigating.
We are unsure as to the time frame for resolution of this issue, as our team still need to recreate the problem, establish cause, and create fix.
Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Your local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/cs_by_phone.html

First the card, now the phone...
Like many others I have experienced an occasional problem with corruption on a 2Gb MicroSD in my XDA Orbit. First time I fixed it with a soft-reset.
I have had the issue again yesterday and re-formatted my card to start again. The problem started yesterday when I noticed that the names of Storage Card folders were corrupted (lots of null characters). When I connected to PC and browsed I saw 2 folders named 'Storage Card' visible. Although the card now looked almost completely empty to Windows, the PPC Memory/StorageCard applet still reported 700+ MB storage in use.
After reformatting and loading up my TomTom data from XP. I put the card back into the phone, but it appeared that the phone was still remembering yesterday's view of the card, mixed up with todays! The bit from yesterday was the storage card folders used by poutlook for attachments.
I decided I must hard reset, and then it should be OK right? Since the reset I have been unable to complete the boot sequence on the phone - it just hangs after showing the version numbers on the startup screen for O2.
Seems like a warranty job, but since I bought it on ebay from a guy who sells lots of them, that may not be easy!
Any ideas how to kick it into life? I've tried both with/without SIM/SD/power cord/etc.
seems to be the same problem as on the Artemis ((((((
Ok, Trinity (HTC P3600) got it too ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291988 )
Seems to be an OS bug, HTC promised an update !!!

Dear HTC support,
Do you officially plan to publish a firmware update for Herald, Trinity
and Artemis because of their bug to corrupt the flash memory card
after normally read-write access? Or I and many other people like me
have to return their phones to you? A time period will be a good answer!
Here is my device information:

That damn thing screwed up my data too!
I wrote to HTC support. Wondering, are they gonna answer or what?
"Corrupt data on MicroSD card" Dear support, Yesterday I'd discovered another wonderful feature of P4350. All the data on my MicroSD card was destroyed! No folders or files, just a junk file named "squareСЭSquareEx" 0 bytes in size. After running scandisk using SD Card reader I've had all my files unreadable in FOUND.000 folder. Information on device: ROM: 1.8.411.3 RUS Rom Date: 11/03/06 GSM: 02.71.90 ExtRom: 1.8.411.103 MicroSD Card info: Kingston 1Gb SDC/1GB 0645G88588U SD-C01G Japan The device was being used just as usual and worked fine during the whole week. The only difference was that I've been using WiFi extensively and it was the first time when the battery power was lower than 35%. What are you going to do about it and who is gonna pay me for such an incredible inconvenience?

Hello people! I might just have the solution to HTC memory card problem, but im not shure about it, i dont own Artemis or Herald so i cant check it out.
Today morning i had a great idea:
I own a Qtek s110, for today plugins i use SPB Pocket Plus 3 and it has 1 thing that differs form using it on any other device - the memory card status! It is hidden on Qtek. When you try to enable it it tells you that it may be the cause of data loss and instability of system. As you should know Qtek is built by HTC.
My idea is try to disable any memory card status idicator and see if that cures the problem, because i think this trouble has been on long before HTC brand started building their own devices! Good luck!
After i installed the program tweaks2k2.net on my P4350 i experienced the same problem with my a-data 1Gb microsd. In my case removing this program also removed the problem with the corrupt storagecard.
Another annoying problem is that my ringtone is constantly changed to windows default when i hit the ok-button....
SD card "renewal"
Like many of you I have sometimes (but relatively frequently) corrupted my SD. I have found out that the corruption is very often in the cache only. If i put SD card out and put it in back again the card content is correct and without corruption.

i've heard that you should format your SD-card to FAT-16... it was written somewhere on tweakers.net. Maybe this is an option..? I own a 2gb micro sd and i never experienced any problems.. let me know if this is usefull or even possible
I've heard that you should format your SD-card as FAT-16.. This whas said somewhere on tweakers.net. I'll search for this topic. I use A 2GB micro SD card with my p4350, i did not encounter any probs.. Let me know if this was helpfull
Possible solution?
I had a similar problem. My SD card wasn't recognized anymore after a while, sometimes after a backup. Now I fixed it. I discovered that I shouldn't move the programlinks in the "start menu" manually. Some programs, which I still don't know which one exactly, should stay in the root. These are the programs installed by default. When I putted the program back to the root of "start menu" folder, the storage card was recognized again.
I believe that the power totally drained on my 8525.
It seems that all of the INSTALLED programs that I elected to install on the storage card are now gone.
Programs installed directly to the device are still there, but anything that I installed and selected "Storage Card" rather than device during install are gone. Their directories and everything else that I later copied into those directories are gone.
Stuff that I drectly copied over to the storage card (rather than installing), seem to be gone as well, though the parent directories are there.
In the Windows Start menu there are only generic icons left for those programs. A bunch were free, but there were a few registered apps that are gone as well. Apps the the previous owner had bought, and so I don't have the reg keys for (hopefully reinstalling will work on some of them if the registration data is in the registry and the new install doesn't overwrite it).
Unfortunately I have only had the phone for about 2 weeks and was still tweaking it to get it where I like, so I had not yet backed-up my storage card...
I thought that WM5 had persistent storage? I have powered the device down in the past and had no problems.
Anyone know what might have caused this (other than a possibly defective storage card...)?
Thanks,
Brain21
What firmware are you running? I've seen this problem on my JASJAM when running the latest AKU3.3 WWE ROM from HTC (and there's a solution to this problem - use the search). Can't recall ever seeing this problem appear with i-mate's latest AKU2.3 ROM.
Strange, never heard of an SD card loosing stuff because of the device losing power. May be worth pulling the card out and checking it with a card reader on your PC. See if your files are there or not, then reformat the card just to be sure its ok maybe?
It's the standard Cingular shipping ROM I *believe*:
ROM Version: 1.34.502.1
ROM Date: 9/21/06
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
It's a HERM100
The only thing I ever did as far as that stuff goes was upgrade the radio version to the one above while I was unlocking the phone (I am on T-Mobile)
Unfortuately I don't currently have a reader for my PC that accepts Micro SD Cards. I need to get one of those SD adapters or something...

If you haven't already I would soft reset and then hook up active sync and use the explore facility to go to the card a see what's there.
I have seen things come back after a soft reset and / or taking card out and in.

That's pretty much the first thing I did. Soft reset & connect. Power off, pull out card, reinsert, power on, reconnect. Same thing every time. :-(
And just to clarify on my post above, I SIM unlocked the phone. I have NOT CID Unlocked the phone.
You might try checking the SdCard with Pocket Mechanic. Run Scandisk from Pocket Mechanic
http://www.wizcode.com/
Losing power would not have had anything to with losing data on sdcard. Even in the old days, when power was lost, the main memory was affected not the SdCard
Does anything show up on the SdCard?
Pocket Mechanic is a nice app and has a free trial.

Hi,
I can't find this solution, does anyone have a link to the thread describing the solution to this problem?
Thanks.

Hello,
I have a problem with my phone. When I try to enable bluetooth, the 'busy' animation keeps going, and after a few seconds my phone doesn't respond to anything. I have to perform a soft reset to get my phone responding.
I tried a lot of things to find out when this problem occurs, and i found out that my bluetooth works only when I remove the micro-sd card from the slot. Then, when my bluetooth is enabled and I put the micro-sd card back in, it just keeps working.
Does anyone know a solution for this problem, so I can enable bluetooth without having to remove my micro-sd card?
More information:
Phone: T-Mobile MDA Vario 2 (herm300)
Rom: WM6 Schap's 3.54b (dutch)
Radio: 1.50.00.00
Micro-sd card: 1gb SanDisk MicroSD (also tested with a kingston 1gb microsd, but with the same problem)
Installed programs (note: the problem also occured when no additional program's where installed):
Google Maps (phone memory)
WM VI Black Transcriber (phone memory)
Schap's Kaiser Comm Manager (phone memory)
Schap's Black Home (phone memory)
+ Program's included with schap's rom (unknown, not in uninstall-list)(phone memory)
If someone knows a solution for this problem, that would be great!
Thanx, and merry christmas, vosManz
Nobody familiair with this problem?
sorry dude can't say i've had that happen
Ok, but thnx for the reply
Trying to fix the problem, I re-installed schap's 3.54b dutch rom. That didn't solve the problem, so it's not a problem with one of the program's, because it's a clean install.
Then, I instaled schap's 4.22 full.. and.. it works now I can use my bluetooth again without having to release my micro-sd card A very nice ROM.. hope it come's in dutch too, but english is nice too..
However, it's was a strange problem. Can it be a problem in the ROM? Or only in the dutch version maybe?
