Hi all,
I'm new on the PPC world so I’ll appreciate your help on this:
- In work we use Lotus Domino Mail Server. Outside work we can access our email through a BlackBerry Enterprise Server from a BlackBerry device.
I would like to use my Qtek 9100 instead of the BlackBerry device to access the e-mail, address book, calendar and to do list.
Is that possible?
What should I do?
Many thks,
Hi,
yes, it is possible. My MDA Vario = HTC Wizard works well with Lotus. The IT-department at my company sent me some files to put on my PDA and prepared everything for me. It's a proggie named OneBridge, and I think it's running on the basis of XTNDConnect. There are several tools which allow the sync of Lotus and WM5-PDAs, like e.g. MNotes, PDASync3.
I use mNotes 4.2.0 - but with the Personal version you need to run a Lotus Notes Client on a machine connected to your server (I run an old thinkpad in my office as a bridge into the Domino server) - then mNotes on the PDA connects to that machine.
Works great over Wifi and GPRS...
To get it to PUSH email, however, you would need mSuite (which has to sit on the server) - I believe... too expensive plus I have no access to the Domino server
Regards
Dave

Hi
I think title says most of it.
I need push email from my companies corporate email system.
We have a Blackberry server but I have yet to find a working Blackberry client for the Wizard?
On my old PDA2K I have been using Smartner Duality which worked great HOWEVER this does not seem to be compaitble with the Wizard so suddenly I have lost my email capability and need to get it back urgently.
Any ideas out there folks?
Cheers.
Robin
PS Smartner client on my desktop in the office used to 'forward' all my outlook mail via a special server they had and thence to my PDA2K.
It is this kind of functionality I am lookiing to replace UNLESS someone actually has the Blackberry client software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for MS's push you'll need to wait for a ROM update with AKU 2.0
for the time being you can just set your wizard to sync with your exchange server over the net (wifi/gprs etc) every x minutes
You can try vgsmail by geoffreycross to be found in the thread 'push-email now available' it's developed for 2003 & there are posts by yzzard to get working under 2005 as well. Need to add some reg.keys manual.
Cheers, M

I WISH.
My company is running a REAL OLD version of Exchange server and our Firewall will not allow PDA's to connect!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately this is not an option for me.

Hi
I don't think we have IMAP enabled on our mail server and I would still haev a firewall problem so this won't work for me either.
Robin
Do they support the imap protocol? if so try vgsmail.
Sorry didn't catch your last post, forget this one pls.
I doubt they actually block PDAs since Activesync just runs over port 80 and the mail apps just use standard mail ports. More likely they don't have the appropriate software set up to active sync. Sounds like you might be better off waiting until the next ROM updates (Rumors put it as close as this week, but deffinetly before the end of Q1 this year) and possibly looking into a hosted exchange solution and having your work email forward there.
Robster,
I don't know if Vodafone offers the same thing as T-Mobile here in the states but see if they have corporate email access available, T-Mobile does and it works ok, similar to Smartner (i used that when I was running 2003SE) it works on my network and it is really locked down from outside access and they have disabled pop and imap access plus we are running Lotus Notes (man it sucks)
The company that I work for has push email but most users are using Strawberries !!!(OK I Know its Blackberries), can I use my S200 to get the same functionality?
If so what do I need to do?
Cheers
If your e-mail account is hosted under an Exchange Server with SP2, the push mail on the Qtek S200 works properly !
If your comapnay is using lotus notes then no . Unless they run a Domino server through an Exchange server.
My company runs notes and I auto forward my mail to an exchange server where I get push functionality.
You can look here and see if your company could use this . www.commontime.com
Hi all,
Is there an application or service that will push my mail, contacts, agenda, tasks etc from my pc to my mobile and visa versa through GPRS where ever I am.
My pc is online 24/7 and it would be great if I can sync everything wireless (with GPRS).
I do have an own domain but no exchange server.
Domain is running on a Linux hosting.
Thanks in advance!
Intellisync will do that:
http://www.intellisync.com/pages/Products/Express/Request-a-Trial/
It's usually bundled as part of a carrier's service (vzw wireless sync is based on intellisync) but they do have downloads for individuals.
Thanks!
Gonna check it out.
Looks good but a bit expensive tbh...
Isnt there a less expensive way
http://live.mail2web.com/ - it's free and you sync everything that you normally sync with Outlook. Get both your desktop to sync to it and so when you're out your PDA can sync with it and be up-to-date.
Wicked, gonna check it!
Don't want to be to picky
But I have my own domain and would like to use that domain as email address, like I do now.
I'm checking the mail2web site and you have to use an email like : [email protected]
Any other suggestions?
Create some rules so that Outlook (desktop) forwards incoming mail on your own domain to the mail2web address. That way you can still check them on your PDA. Remember to set the "Reply To" field on emails composed on the PDA to your own domain!
There probably are some other services that will allow the use of your own domain but they will more than likely NOT be free though
They don't have to be completly free, but I dont want to pay 150 euro's a year like intellisync.com charges.
Cheers
www.4smartphone.com is good for you :
- You use your own email adress (own domain) as sender
- You synchronize Outlook desktop (Outlook 2003 included) and Outlook Mobile (Push Mail)
- It's 6.99$/month (83.88$/year)
I use 4smartphone since 3 months and I'm very happy !
Thanks m8!
Sounds nice, gonna check that out.
Cheers
coeptum, thanks a million for helping me setting up an account with 4smartphones!
It works great!
I love it
Hi Panja,
Have you used 4smartphone service, is it good? Please let me know
Peace...
I Tried the Intellisync service. It is like emoze. A small app runs on your PC and you have to be connected to Internet. Wont work for me. I am trying out 4smartphone. 4smartphone is cheap too only $48/Year for the lowest service while intellisync charges $180/year.
Cheers'
Peace
Yes, I'm using 4smartphones atm, works great!
I'm trying the $6,99, professional service which has a 15day trial.
hi guys,
I use my own laptop on our works network. I have Activesync on the laptop and can sync my XDAIIs with the laptop no problem.
however, as all our email and calendar information is stored in "Public Folders" in Outlook (on our network somewhere I guess?) , I want to be able to sync my work diary and email across to my PDA, and back again - I only go into the office a couple of days a week, so it'd be great to effectively carry it around with me.
However - Can't do it!
I don't know a great deal about the information that might help you, but my laptop uses XP Pro SP2, and MS Office 2003, and work uses MS Exchange Server.
Sorry if this is a cr*p explanation, but if you think you can help, ask ANYTHING you want!
Thanks in advance!
Steve
I am new to synching with Windows Mobile 6 on my T-Mobile Wing, was hoping there was a solution out there for the problem I'm up against. Here is the layout of what I have :
- a T-mobile Wing with WM6 and ActiveSync
- a Windows Vista computer with Microsoft Outlook 2007 and WMDC
- a Microsoft Exchange account for work with OWA
I sync everything on the Wing and Vista/Outlook 2007 setup effortlessly with either USB or Bluetooth, that's not a problem. Currently I sync emails only from the Exchange account using Outlook Web Access through ActiveSync on the Wing. What I would really like to do is to be able to sync the calendar/tasks from my Exchange account to the Wing, but to PREVENT writing my personal appointments/reminders/tasks from Outlook up to my Exchange account. I don't think my company needs to know when I'm mowing the lawn or taking my kids to the dentist....however, I really value having that personal stuff synched up on both the Wing and Vista/Outlook. Is such one-way synching even possible? Is there another program out there besides ActiveSync that can do this? I have seen some descriptions on the web of how to make an older version of ActiveSync perform this way, but the version that I have never seemed to have the right options or tabs available.
So to sum up, the dilemma is, I'd like to sync my Exchange calendar/tasks to my Wing, but not have any calendar/task items from the Wing or the Vista PC make it back to the Exchange server. If more information is needed, I will be happy to provide any details that I can.
Thanks, great forum.
