Anyone heard about program that turns on flash light from wizard camera? Sometimes I use camera and just turn on the light, but it turns off after +- 10s. So i am looking for program to turn it on and off.
Hi, Not one available yet. Vijay of the forum is working on one VJCandela but not working on the wizard yet.

The jasjar has a great flash light on it,
Does anyone have any tips on how to bypass the camera to just turn the flash on :?:
that would be handy
flashligh
I would also love this feature cause the flash is crap and doesnt enhance the photo capabailities cause its to weak for that, but great for finding stuff at night that was misplaced.
i had the torch prog on my v v old spv it just made all the screen white, surlly once the commands are found (by you clever spods) for that light control using the light symbol button as a double click to illuminate / deluminate, so you dont have to open / enter pin to turn the torch on and off.
hi guys, still getting to grips with my new universal device, just wondered,
the little dot above the green phone answer key, is that a sensor for keyboard as the backlight only works in the dark, its very clever idea from HTC if it is!!! 8)
Yes, that is a light sensor.
i thought it was, but when i put my finger over it, when its light and press a button, it does not turn the backlight on, so i thought, hmmm, maybe not then. :?
You can change how long the keyboard backlight will shine using this registry hack from the WIKI pages:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout
I set mine to shine for a minute, and for my device to shut off after 2 minutes.
i also used a perenant marker on my sensor, as it had to be pitchback before it worked, now its just has to be dusk like.
I'm not sure about anyone else but I have many times found myself using my phone's screen as a flash light. The hermes is particularly well suited to this purpose as it has that nice beefy LED on the back for the camera's flash. I was wondering if anyone knew any way to activate the LED in its sustained low intensity mode without using the camera app?

VJCandela
Or SEARCH XDA It is in alot of cooked roms.
VJCandela is really good as a flashlight. You can also map it on hardware button and thus making it available all the time (I mapped it on button 5 long press).
It's really annoying when you're in someplace and just after you press the record button and suddenly the screen turns full blast bright! People around starts to turn their heads in your direction... Does your ipaq 612/614 pda's spits unwanted light rays in your face as well?
Do you know how to disable this, perhaps a registry tweak we can do?
Thank you so much
i believe my backlight fix (reg fix) will fix that, check the post in the backlight controller thread
thanx keyx,
you never fail to be helpful
Hi keyx,
I think you should try pressing the record button using the memo program.
I'm sure it still turns bright even after you follow the instructions here:

Which line specifically prevents the screen to bright?
TIA

i think the note app is designed to force backlight on while recording (like gps app that keep backlight on)...you may want to look for other app that does not do that or try disable backlight globally...
if you use my rom you can use the voice commander button on the side of the unit to turn screen off, it should keep the app going
I've tried other recording programs, also still forces the backlight to turn on to high gear.
I'm currently using backlight controller to turn it off while recording, but sometimes you just need to leave the screen on.
There is a Hardware bug in the iPaq 600 phones.
This bug causes "static" to be heard in all recordings if the screen goes dim.
HP was aware of it and so sent out a "fix" except they did not fix anything all they did was force full screen brighness for the duration of the recording so that you never encounter the bug.
If you disable the screen brightness via a reg key chances are you will here the static in your recordings.
Btw i have not tested keyx's reg fix

thanks branded,
I'd rather have it bright than clicking noise
Hello,
I have bought myself a diamond touch 2, and i directly flashed it to Dutty's R6 rom because i like it much better and i made up my mind about it even before i bought it.
Now i seem to have a problem, and i don't know what would be the problem; either the device or the rom?
Proximity doesn't work; setting automatic backlight dimms the screen to a low-light level. Holding a flashlight above it doesn't make any difference.
Also, when making a call, the display keeps being illuminated the whole time, no matter if i hold it to my ear or not.
Does someone recognize this problem?

Settings\System\Power\Backlight\ Turn off Auto adjust.
If i turn off auto adjust i can indeed set full brightness, but that's not the point. I want the auto-dimming and proximity sensor to work, so when i hold the piece next to my ear it locks and turns off the screen...
If I turn on auto-adjust, it doesn't respond on any lightchange or action; it just dimms the screen to about 40% and keeps it there.. either a bug or a hardware fault with my unit?
Not sure that it ever worked perfect out of the box.
Have you tried tweaking the settings with TD2 Tools?
How do you mean tools? As far as i know i can only find one box to turn auto adjust on.. you have the same configuration, does it work for you?
EDIT: I installed the app "LumosWizard". Now the phone's backlight adjusts depending on the light the sensor receives. The sensor works well as the values go up when putting a flashlight on it.
However, i wonder why this doesn't work with just auto-adjust on, that's what the HTC Auto-Backlight should do right? Also, with this app, the backlight doesn't go out when no light is reveived (auto-lock when putting into pants, or turned off backlight when calling...) ?
This is what i'm looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xakUmz1zwc
=> i don't think this is achieved by an additional application, but is just standard HTC service doing this because of putting on the auto-adjust...
There is NO proximity sensor on Touch DIAMOND II. Only light sensor. Use Touch_InCall_Screen_Tweak instead. This program use G-sensor and block the screen when your phone is in vertical position.

Thanks, installed and works good!
Still wondering though why i need a 3rd app like LumosWizard to make the lightsensor work, as htc's autoadjust apparently doesn't
I did find this .cab called Glight and it works great on my TD2
