I know that http://www.mobileplanet.com/product.asp?code=130165 have an audio out.

where to get good quality Proprietary headphones? (not adapter)

I will probably also be buying an adapter, but I'd like to know where to get some headphones. The Tilt doesnt come with any does it?
YOu mean headphones that fit directly into the TyTN II without an adapter? DOn't know if any "good quality" ones exist. Just the normal horrible sounding ones.
My question would be, why would you want to invest money into a quality set of headphons that won't plug into any other devices? Isn't that kind of a waste? Esp when an adapter only costs about $5.
Not being a wise-ass, just not sure if I understand the question or the logic...

well the only reason i asked was when i got my t-mobile sda, the headphones it came with sounded great! so i was assumeing if there were ones actually for the Kaiser/Tilt they too would sound good.
btw i thought usb would get better quality than an audio jack would?
I probably will get an adapter, which one looks better of the 3?

i would NOT get the first one, that's because the jack is silver plated while the other 2 are gold plated. Gold plated jacks give you better sound quality as it transfers signals better, but from the 2 other ones...they look the same, so i would just get the cheaper one.

thanks, i didnt know that gold plated jacks produce better quality, thanks for the lesson there.
another reason i was wondering about the propietary headphones was bcause they usually have a microphone. could someone recomend either good quality propriety headphones with a mic or good quality normal headphones with a mic?

To be honest, i just got a stereo bluetooth headset, coz now i can listen to music and make calls cable free. If you really want a connected answer though, i dont know anything about the propriety headphones, but from my experience i would stay AWAY from jacks that include a built in microphone...they advertise it, but it's really useless and has HORRIBLE quality.
Hey could you post a link of those BT headphones you got. I am interested in getting one but wasn't sure if you could make calls with them as well. Thanks in advance.
I picked up one of these for mine. I like having the controls handy, particularly talk/end.
does the 8525/hermes come with headphones? if so, were they any good? where can i get some like that?

There are 2 really good Stereo Bluetooth headphones. If you like headphones that go behind your head kind of headphones, then go for the Motorola HT820, if you like ones that cover your ear, but are not humongous, then go for the Plantronics 590A or 590E (they are the same, but the A version comes with a bluetooth adapter that you can connect to any 3.5mm jack and you would then be able to listen to music through that. Amazon actually has a VERY good sale on the Plantronics, http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Pulsar-Bluetooth-Headset-Adapter/dp/B000BK1QSE.
I have used both the plantronics and the HT820, and they are both very good.
Now if you dont like those, and you want an earbud style...you can get the SONY HBH-DS970, but i havent tried those yet.
Hope that helps!

Well i think they are the same pair of headphones, no?
what i mean is that they are not as good as the ones that you can buy separately.
I actually think the headphones included with the 8525 sounded pretty good. Not audiophile good, but good to the point that I would find myself thinking, hey these sound pretty darn good!
I know you can get them thru the ATT/Cingular accessory on line store (have to Google for a link). They make a set with a mic that you can use if you get or need to make a call. I personally hate adaptors as I have a tendency to lose them. o I like just being able to pull out the headset and not worry if I misplaced the adaptor. That's just me, though!

yea thats the way i am, dont really like adapters. only problem with buying the accessories from at&t is they're usually 40-50$, when really you can get a pair of good hedphones for under 20$ somewhere else, along with an inexpensive adapter.
so whats the concensus? Where can I get headphones with a mic for this $800 phone?? Whats the best option out there? Does nobody really make a good set for this device? I find it hard to believe.
A good option may be the Sony HBH-DS220. This is a bluetooth headset with A2DP and a microphone but you can plug in your own headphones. The earbuds that come with it are very good though. I have the same earbuds on my Sony Walkman phone and they are the best and comfiest buds i have ever used.

Dave - Do you know if the DS220s have a caller ID display? The photo appears to show some kind of tiny display but I can't really tell. Thanks.
I'm not sure. It does look like there is a screen but there is no mention of it.
Looks like the screen is just for pairing and battery life.

Mini-USB to 3.5mm Headset Jack

I have been trying to find a small mini-usb to 3.5mm headset jack to use with my fuze so I dont have to carry arround the big one HTC included. I have found a few places that sell them but they are all around $20. The cheapest I found was $12 which even though its cheaper, it still seems WAY too expensive for just this little adapter. Has anyone found on of these anywhere for cheaper??? It seems like it should only cost 5 bucks max. Can anyone help me out???
Thanks.
I bought one on e-bay for $6 and the sound quality sucks!!, I recommend you to buy those for $20
Suggestion: first link us to it so we can see?
If you're really desperate for great sound through and adapter, cut the wire for the adapter that came with the fuze. OPen it up and make it as short as possible.
what about this one?
http://www.amazon.com/i-Trek-Stereo-Multi-Adapter-T-Mobile-YS-AUC/dp/B000UHY6XU
i dont know about the sound quality, but it's cheap and small
ha after looking at it, i ordered one i'll let you know how it is after i get it in a few days
@omar
Lol. I have that one. I got it for my tilt and now use it with my fuze. Sound quality isn't the greatest, but it's pretty robust. I can take pics of it attached to my fuze if you guys want.

HTC Stereo Headset

I was wondering if anyone has ever bought or tried this headset before.
I was thinking about getting it to use with my phone, instead of having to carry around both some headphones and that adapter that came with my Fuze. It also works with answering the phone, so that's great as well.
http://www.htcdepot.com/htc-stereo-headset/73A74A1450.htm
I don't have that one but I can see it would simpler than having to lug the adapter around. I did buy this to use with my Fuze:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/dualadapter/retractable-dual-handsfree-stereo-adapter-at_t-fuze_3350.htm
It's a bit more expensive than the one you're looking at but I figure this way I can choose whatever set of headphones w/ 3.5mm jack I want to use. Beats having to carry the adapter that came with the Fuze.
I've had that headset. It's not too bad.

It's similar to that but not as long. Using that one along with some headphones and you've got a jump rope length cord to lug around lol.

Yes, I do know there are shorter adapters but most of the ones I've seen don't have a mic built in. The shorter ones are fine if you're just listening to music or whatever but the one I bought will mute the music when a call comes in and will unmute the music when I'm done. I keep mine short by not uncoiling it completely. Like you said, it would be a jump rope, if I did.

Stereo bluetooth headphones

Now that the 1.5 build is being unofficially released I can finally spring for some A2DP BT headphones. I'm not sure where to go to find some good up-to-date reviews so I thought I should ask you guys.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good pair of stereo bluetooth headphones?
(wrong section, post in accessories next time) but, how about instead of buying a set headset, try something like this :
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-8909...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240165414&sr=8-2
its called a bluetooth dongle, you can plug in your own headsets. Im planning on buying one on eBay, they are a bit cheaper there.
Crap, you're right. My eyes are accustomed to skipping over that section and going right the skins. My bad. If a mod wants to move this, feel free.
However, now that I know where to search there is a similar thread already there. *hangs head in shame*
suggestion
I have a BlueAnt X5i and have for over 2years now and greatly impressed.
It comes with a 'base' that has a 3.5mm jack (stereo/mic) if you don't have a a2DP phone.
While you are waiting, get a spitter and have cordless music. Also, I have the 'base' attached to the PC for cordless Skype.
I'm cheap and I'm thinking about getting this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/r.88888888~sku.8422
Any suggestions? If you find one with a screen in the same price range, please feel free to post it! =P

The dealextreme dongle is ok. I would recommend replacing the earbuds (should be removable) with your own - otherwise it works just fine.
I heard the quality on that one is a bit rough compared to the name brand motorola. But then again... for the price its a steal. Personally, id go for the motorola though, it has a built in FM radio, display, and its a Class 1 device.
I used to use a motorola MOTOROKR S9 headphones before I lost them a week ago.
I'm planning on buying Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 BT heaphones, google reviews for both of them, they are pretty good and aesthetically pleasing
I'm not a fan of the BT dongle to headphone adapter. I mean, the point of having bluetooth headphones is to be wire free, but with that you'll still have to have a pair of headphones wired up to a dongle.
I use the Motorola S9's, and they are fantastic & rugged. They look great, you can barely feel them and they stay in place. I work out and run a lot with them, sometimes in light rain and they're still kicking a year later!
By now I'm sure you can pick them up for pretty cheap too.
I almost bought a BT stereo headset when I was using a Shadow as my main phone. Upgraded to the G1 just before I purchased the headset and since it doesn't (yet) have A2DP I have not made the purchase. I did a lot of reading around and found one from Plantronics to be the one that looked the best to me. The headsets they make have always got good reviews.
Anyway here is the link to the one I almost bought and probably will buy when I update my G1 to the new rom.
http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/mobile/bluetooth-headsets/voyager-855
If you prefer the dongle adapter then check this one out.
http://www.plantronics.com/north_am...s;jsessionid=AWRKVWCO3HRZOCQBGNYCFFAKAEZW4IV0
Good luck in your purchase. BTW you can find both of these for much cheaper than the links I provided. Google will save you some cash!
Here's what I just bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YTRQR2
It's amazing how little A2DP headphones have progressed in the last few years. I would have thought newer ones would be lightyears better than these but all the reviews I see are either a few years old or they have the same basic complaints and accolades as the ones from a few years ago.
Anyway, we'll see how these work. I might get some Motorola s9-hd's later on. I agree with the above post about dongle's being counterproductive to the whole wireless bt idea. With Haykuro's 1.5 build out already and supporting a2DP I figured the time was now to get this.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Keep them coming because stereo bluetooth is now an Android reality and more and more people are going to have questions in the next month or so.
I have heard a lot of complaints about the Motorola HT820's slipping around alittle and just generally being uncomfortable.
I can't wait for my S9HD to get here (already ordered). I also ordered a pair of S9 for my girlfriend just so I could see if the HD really make much difference for standard mp3 use.

You heard WRONG... how can they slip when there as snug as a bug and sit on both ears and cradle the back of your head (great design) NOT on the top of your head. After a few minutes I forget I have them on.
I also use them to connect to my pc late at night and watch movies on my 52" HD TV
Sound it great!!

build flaw in headphones?

now i don't know how to explain this really, but here we go. five minutes ago, i decided to plug my hd2 headphones into my computer so i'd be able to listen to a movie. twice now, once in each ear, i've gotten SHOCKED. i thought for whatever reason, static could have charged and been stored inside the soft ear-bud covers. after being shocked inside of my right ear, i took them off (soft ear-bud covers) and put the Left ear-bud into my left ear. three minutes later, SAME THING. it seemed like it happened when there was cracking in the audio during the movie. i swapped them out, replayed the area where i heard the cracking, and wasn't shocked...with my old G1 ear-buds. i've got that really low carpet in my office and always get shocked when reaching for the doorknob, that's why i suggested static in the first place...or maybe it's just a crazy design flaw!? either way, it really did hurt and i don't know what course of action i should take. has anyone else experienced this?
rob
it's definitely the headphones. i've gotten up, walked around, sat down...and with my G1 headphones, i haven't gotten shocked once, even during the audio cracking in the movie! i guess i'll be calling tmobile.
I got shocked twice, then thought to myself,
"why am I using the stock headsets? I deserve to be shocked".

Yep, I'm using my pair of Sennheiser ones for radio and anything else. As general rules, for every single mobile device, stock headphones suck monkey balls anyway. At least on my Sennheiser, I have noise isolation and some basses.
it may also be your computers sound card. ive owned many headphones over the time, but the ones i tried in my computer with a creative sound card shocked me. Now i have a Lenovo laptop, and have never experienced that with any headphones...
i would try the headset in another soundcard/pc jus to be sure what it is

I do exactly the same, I just can't stand those plug thingies in my ears. And of course, the quality of the Sennheiser is another world.
I have a strange issue with it though. Whenever I use the Sennheiser the phone auto-dials somebody from my favourite contacts list. I found out that if I wiggle the connector a little I can reproduce this effect. It also seems to be a problem reported on other HTC phones.
Should be related to the 4-ring (tip-ring-ring-base) connector on the stock earphone versus the 3-rings (tip-ring-base) on the Sennheiser. But how? Or is it?
