Recommendations for BT headset

Can anyone recommend a good (but sensibly priced) BT headset that I can use with my TyTN II and my Nokia E65?
I have a vodafone branded plantronics at the moment but it spent 2 hours in the washing machine

If you can get a Jawbone 2, I'd highly recommend it. I've gone through countless motorolas, scalas and plantronics but apparently I sound the best on the jawbone, even when doing 100mph on the highway with the music pumped up!

My old Plantronics (510???) went thru the washer *and* an hour in the dryer about 2 months ago. I couldn't believe when it powered on... and, it's still working to this day.
There went my excuse to upgrade to the Jawbone2!

If you aren't going to be in a noisy environment, you can pick up the Plantronics 510 pretty cheap. It's a little bigger, but pretty comfortable.
If you are like me, work in noisy environment, and want something that does a pretty good job at noise, the jawbone2 is a good choice. It's kind of pricey,
and some people can't get it to fit correctly, but it does its job really well.
I had the jawbone1, and never could get it to fit, and bought a customer ear piece from pilot stuff, expensive, but it makes for a PERFECT fit. It fit the jawbone 2 without any problem.

I would recommend the BlueAnt Z9i
It work pretty well in environments that are a bit loud and you can pair it to both your phones simultaneously.

Motoroal S9s hands down for me.

I just bought the Motorola S705. I am quite happy with, it pairs w/o any problem with my Kaiser, it has a FM Tuner (I wanted one becasue the Kaiser doesn't have radio).
The LCD screen shows the number calling you (not the name saved in the phone, at least I don't think so), as well as the radio and streamed song names (RDS technology). You can of course control the music program (pause, play, etc) but it will not show the name of the MP3 you're listening. Not so critical.
The must is that you can use whatever ears plugs you want cause they are plugged via a normal mini jack 3,5mm .
I did not used it so far to phone so I can't report on the microphone quality.
EDIT: yeah ok for phoning, in a quiet environment the person could hear me well, no pb. But the quality to hear this person was low to medium. That was not sounding so well. It could be a ear plugs issue, could try with others. Anyway a very nice and affordable headset.

Has anyone used the Blueant Z9i with the Tilt? If so, any problems?

So far I have not seen any bluetooth headsets that look cool while you are wearing them. Usually you look like you have a bug on your ear. This is why I went with the Motorola T505 which is nice as it takes your calls and music from your phone using Bluetooth, then sends the signal to your car stereo using a Powerful FM Transmitter.
I had a Plantronics Headset which worked really well but It looked like something that came fromt eh original Star Trek Series with this bulky thing behing the ear. I also had a Cardo Scala Headset which also worked really well with some of my phones but not so well with others - (Tiny sound on listeners end I was told) This device was bulky right on the ear so it looked like a beetle sitting on my ear. Nothing worse then pulling up beside a car full of hot girls and they look over and see this bulky geeky gadget on you face.
What I would really love is for someone to come out with a bluetooth headset that is like those (I know they are not real) used on Stargate Atlantis) Very discrete.

Actually, the S9s look very cool when wearing them imo. When people look at them, they're just baffled. If you have long hair, they can even be covered and nobody can see them (teachers ).

Who makes the S9's? I want to take a look. How do they work? Good sound? Complaints from listeners on the other end.
I like the looks of the Apple Bluetooth Headset - They look pretty small; however, all the reviews I have read basically say that the device sucks.

Motorolla makes them and they are flat out amazing. Couldn't ask for a better headset. I rarely ever have it die out (take it to school and it's on almost all the time). The only time i get complaints is when i talk to low (because i'm in a bus) but other than that (outside, home, etc), amazing quality.

The S9s is cool and I have already looked at these for working out with; however, you cannot leagally use this for driving in a car as it sits in both ears.

True, however i have a little work-around for that (works great). Since when you're on a call, voice only comes in through the left side so i just stick the left side in my ear and the right side hangs on my neck (very flexible) which makes it perfectly legal

You could do that but I would find it awkward and distracting. I have a Jabra bluetooth stereo headset that uses regular earbuds and I could technically use this in the car as well letting one of the earbuds dangle, but I don't. I don't like having extra distractions from driving - cords dangling from my head - or in the S9s half of it on the ear and the other half around the neck. I have tried one of these on (S9s) and although it works really well - It was not as comfortable to wear as the Jabra set I bought. I would think that in the car - it would be awkward to turn you head to look over at your blind spot

I use Blueant Z9 for several months. No problems to pair, good sound etc.
The rubber earpiece started to disintegrate recently and today had completely fallen off. Blueant promiced to ship a replacement.

I have the BT8010 from Jabra. Works great, and comes with a slew of features you almost NEVER find on bluetooth headsets (mono a2dp, oled display with battery meter, 30 entry mini phonebook, 8 device pairing, 2 connections at a time, and a detachable stereo earbud that leeches power from the headset for stereo music playback). The only thing i dont like is the lack of Noise Processing. I occasionally get comments about sounding like im in a tunnel if im laying in my bedroom talking, but for the most part, no complaints. Its also just a tick over $30 at Tiger Direct now.
I just went ahead over the weekend and ordered a bulk pack Jabra BT8040 from Newegg.com after hearing good things about it from people I know. It was about $35 shipped, and comes with everything the retail version does, except in a bag instead of a box. Im looking forward to seeing how well it sounds to people I talk to since it has noise processing in it. It also is one of the very few mono bluetooth headsets available that has A2DP and remote functions built in.
If the BT8040 doesnt cure my occasional sound problems that people comment on when talking to them, I think ill try out a jawbone since they are under $60 now and see if that takes care of the problem. Ive heard too many things about how the jawbone2 is not as good at anything other than being smaller than the original. Less battery life, harder to keep pinned to your cheek, etc...

Just recently purchased through AT+T the S9 Motorola bluetooth wireless headset. I was wondering what is the difference in sound for the Motorola S9 compared to the S9-HD?

The difference is between sound, battery life, and the ability to handle sweat. They both suck at reception, although the S9HD does have better bass. I like that the S9HD can handle sweat, while soon enough, S9's will die from it.

I decided to bail on the s9 and order the s9+hd... i tested s9 and it does sound really good and with srs working (extra bass) no complaints here.. but I do want to use this for working out and not having to spend $$ every six months because it shorts out due to water.

i used my $50.00 refund from the fuze I purchased towards the s9 which at&t sold it for $100.00 costing me $50.00. I found a site on-line for $70.00 which in the end costs me $20.00 for the s9+hd

Just recently returned the S9 for S9+HD and very impressed!
With these two applications it is definitely well worth the investment. I didn't have any problems with reception even up to 30ft.
I definite must have hardware!

I also upgraded from the regular S9 to the S9-HD and have been very happy. I can't honestly say that I can tell about the sound quality, but the reception and fit is better.

you should definitely install SRS WOW on the diamond... its an incredible difference..

Never had a problem at all with reception on my S9. Never any static, and works a great distance from the phone.
I'm a fat sweaty guy, and I use mine at the gym. NEVER had a problem with it, but I hear others do. I'm going to assume people just leave the usb cover open or something when they use them.

I had an S9 like a year ago with my Dash and I had to return it twice. I sweat ALOT and it could not handle it. Hopefully the S9HD is better.

is there a carrying case to protect these headphones? i had to return my headphones because there was a rattle coming from the left ear piece.
other than that - i normally clean the stereo headphones from sweat so that way they will be clean.. preventive maintenance..
i have noticed after having the headphones on for awhile, the ears start to ache a bit..

how do you carry the headphones around? do you use a bag, I am afraid that they will be damaged in transit.. I was wondering if there was a case that will protect them?
also, do you get a rattle from the headphones? i RMA'd my first headphone, recieved the new one.. same problem.. or it might be the ear bud.

I have a pair now that I use on a daily basis. I have had little problems with them. They sound great, pair to phone easy. (did come across one rom they didn't work with, but that was not the headphones fault)
I picked mine up not long ago for only $60.

mine ran me around $79.00 - I picked up the S9+HD and not the S9 which is a older version.
I noticed a littel rattle in the earpiece.. not sure if it is the rubber part or something inside. I rma'd the first one back to shopcell and recieved new one.. same thing.. so I question this.
do you have this issue? I am a jogger.

Holy crap what are you people doing to these things. I have the S9 and I have personally had 0 problems. I use them to mow the grass, I even wear them with my motorcycle. Great sound and reception. Never a problem with carrying them around as i pull them out of my ears and let them hang on my neck.
Now the only real issue i have is the speaker head is a little big for my ears, so after a few hours of them in my ears start to hurt. other than that my use of them has been great. Sorry to hear you all have had issues with them.

I ordered a s9 via ebay (31bucks + free shipping). I'm hoping to see it this coming week.

I owned a S9 . By now are unusable. Is a matter of time when controls start to fail when is exposed to sweat. Besides this, I think are great and unique design. Hopefully Motorola can address this problem.

Headphones recommendations please

I don't want to spend a fortune on headphones, but would like something of reasonable quality and fit. I picked up some Senheiser HD408 headphones for $50 at futureshop. I have not opened them yet, but am going to see if I can get any good feedback on an alternative before opening them.
Please keep any suggestions below $100. There has to be some good 'bang for the buck' headsets out there.

I use a set of Motorola S10-HD bluetooth headphones and they work pretty well. Sound quality is good, they are really light and small, rechargeable and they are sweat proof so I can wear them when I workout (cause we all know how important it is to maintain ones figure). My only real complaint is that I have a huge melon head so the headband, which is a behind the head design, kinda pinches on the sides which after about an hour starts to kinda annoy. Other than that, which is more a personal design flaw than anything manufacturer related, I really like them. I think I paid like 60 bucks for them, so they are semi-reasonable.

JVC Flats. Walmart. Multiple colors. $15 or less.
Seriously, these are hands down the BEST headphones I have ever owned. The bass is BEAUTifUL...crystal clear sound, an unbelievable bargain for the sound quality you can get.
The earpieces are leatherish, cushy, and set nicely against my ears. If/when these ever break, they will be replaced with another pair.
My only negative comment about them?...they don't come in green.

I will second the S4's. I have a pair of the S4I's, (used to have an iPhone) and you cannot beat the sound quality you get for the price. They are top notch, very comfortable, once you get the right fit, and I have 0 complaints on them.
The wiring is thin and feels flimsy but I have yet to have any issues with them. I've had them for maybe 10 months now. If you want to go more "rugged" they have the S5's which are the same thing only built to withstand more.

I keep going back to Sony's sub 20-dollar earbuds in the roll up case.

I know you don't want to spend this much but when it comes to head phones you get what you pay for.
I bought a pair of Bose head phones 3 years ago for $130 and I use them everyday of my life during my job for about 4 hours. There super clear and have a very balanced bass but can be picked up greatly!
Just think about it. $50 now, then in a few months another because they were blown and so on or $130 for the next 4-5 years. Mine are in perfect condition and have no crakling even after the abuse I put them through.
Go to best buy or any place that has them on display and try them out, not the noise canceling ones though there $300! Also never buy headphones before you buy them.

I've had several pairs of these And I really like them. I'm surprised they still remain the best bang for the buck. I'd have figured something would have dethroned them by now.

I have a set of Audio Technica ATH-AD700's, but they do look pretty ridiculous. Good thing I'm too distracted by the awesome sound stage to care ^_^

If you like bass then these are for you they have in ear subwoofers I have a pair and love them I got them for around 40 on eBay... all of my buddies like them better than dress.... they don't sound leak so other people arnt bothered by your loud music the noise canceling is great I mow the lawn with them

Or you can do what I did, buy them for $20 at a garage sale. Brand new unopened package. I know, I got lucky.
Seriously though, the sound quality of these headphones is amazing. The other thing is that there is almost zero sound leaking. At full blast, people around you won't even notice.

Not sure I am allowed to post link to exterior destination, but head-fi.org is a better place to ask and headphone.com is a good place for info, not buy though since they're price is high.
Right now I'm using the Sennheiser MX580 as open earbuds and Etymotic HF3 as in ear monitors, both have excellent clarity. Both of this brand hav3 many choices at diff price though. Beside Sennheiser and Etymotic, you should also look at AKG and Beyer Dynamic, they are all professional brands for audio productions.
If you want an earbud with lots of bass just get the Palm Pre headset which cost $2, better than most $20-30 ones you find at regular stores.

You cannot go wrong with Sennheiser gear - but I suggest Aerial7 gear personally. Either way you are going to get some quality equipment.

Yeah i saw the headphones missing in the Box on Google Play... I am just worried about the audio quality of N4... If it uses the same DAC from the Optimus G then it would be great... There are hardly any DAC's compatible with the S4 Pro Chip, so i suppose we should get the same DAC thats in the Optimus G...

The Nexus 7 aux port only supports audio out (no in or button).
On a phone, I'd expect audio in to be standard (microphone).

I have loads of headphones around that I could use, but because the headphone jack being on top annoys me I went ahead and ordered a pair of Tenqa Remxd.

Not much of a big deal, those earphones that come with phones are usually pretty crappy.

I really hope the quality is at least close to the Wolfson DAC. That's going to make or break this one for me.

Ehh, I'm not too upset about that. Sure, they're nice to get with it, but back when I bought Apple devices, I'd always just end up selling the headphones to a friend for $10 or something, as I think they're (as in, most headphones that come with phones) are pretty awful. I'm not a big fan of in ear headphones anyways, so it's okay to me.

I was kind of hoping for some new headphones. My current ones have too short a cord, but I can't get rid of them because no one seems to make regular earbuds anymore. They all are these horrid squishy earbuds. I can't stand them in my ears. I need the solid form factor akin to the Apple earbuds.
Anyone know of a good brand (maybe even wireless option without some tacky band) for solid earbuds? I need something that can fit in a pocket and isn't made of the squishy buds that seem to be all the rage right now... I really don't want to have to buy some Apple earpods, but they are looking to be the only thing that's made without squishy-ness and with a microphone.

Actually, they're going to be the same as the Palm Pre ones, apparently, or at least compatible with the other touchstones with a Qi standard or something or another. They mentioned it in some of the other threads, but yeah, those are about 5 bucks on Amazon, so hopefully that's true.

Eh, not too worried. Never have used the headphones that come with a device.

Not bothered. They are usually naff anyway.

You can actually pick up a pair of the OEM galaxy s3 headphones on ebay for under $6. I've been plenty happy with those (and have since bought a couple extra pairs, just because they're awesome).

Bluetooth Headset

Hi all,
I have just received my Nexus 4, and I'm now looking for some nice headset for running.
I have been looking into lots of threads and messages and to be honest, I have a great mess. My first conclussion is that if I want the functionality of volume, play/pause and move backward/forward, I need to select the bluetooth option, although it is not my prefered because of the need of charging them quite often. Am I right with this assumption?
Then, if we focus on bluetooth alternative, I have seen good comments in the forum for these two options:

Comments / Doubts
Considering that I want the headset for running, I have the doubt if the LG will move.
Also, for both models, I',m not sure if they will slip from my ears because of the plastic material... I have tried the default headset of the S Galaxy III and they slip from my ear every minute becasue of the swear. It didn't happened with my previous HTC Desire HD headset, which instead of plastic, the material was the all the life foam.
Finally, my last doubt... Maybe for running the best alternative is the type of headset which has some plastic all around the ear, but I haven't seen any model like that with bluetooth...
Any comment or recommendation will be very much appreciated!

i jsut got the mw600 to replace my jaybird freedoms that were dying. So far i like the mw600, the battery last pretty long around 6-7 hours for me and its fairly small about the size of the top of a ball point pen so it's easy to throw in a pocket or clip on a belt/collar. Bluetooth reception is strong compared to my Freedoms and Motorola headsets. There are a few things i dont like about it though. There are too many buttons(there's 5) on this thing and they are very sensitive. It took a little to get used to and very easy to press buttons by accident sometime i press the fwd or back buttons randomly in my pockets. I was looking at the LG too and that thing looks very bulky to me and i would imagine it would bounch around quite a bit when running but that's just me.

I recently bought the Plantronics BackBeat 903. I was stuck between that and the LG HBS 700, but as neotekz above me said, I found the latter to be too bulky for my liking. I think the Plantronics was a good purchase. Excellent sound quality (by Bluetooth standards), very discrete yet stylish, comfortable fit and great battery life (7+ from full charge) are the main highlights. I have to add though that I have not gone running with these on so I can't attest to how the fare during exercise. Based on my own experience (brisk walking) and the reviews, it seems it will hold up fine.

Thanks to you both for your replies. After reading your posts, I have decided to buy the Plantronics one... I think that it will be the best option to be sure that they won't slip when running. I liked the option of the radio of Sony ones, but like major use will be for running, the comment of the slight difficulty to manage the buttons has finally decided me. I have already ordered them at Amazon!
