Has anyone figured out why www.orb.com does work with WM5?
Orb doesn’t seem to work with WM5.
Orb worked perfect on the Typhoon with Windows Mobile 2003SE
I confirmed it WONT work on the WM5 Himalaya as well.

"Windows Mobile 5.0 is not yet supported and we are currenlty in the process of testing. It will most likely be supported by the time Windows Mobile 5.0 is officially released."
Anyone figure this out yet? Before I install Real...

It never happened dude , i use my EEE and HSDPA phone(or wifi) and it works great.
Windows Mobile is a basic OS and in the end if you want sophisticated aps you have to get a full OS
Might help......
There is an Mplayer port out there.....I will attach if not found. This was done a while ago and I used this to stream heros from an old lPay per view web site that jumped up before the explosion of free available streaming content......used to cost me like £2 a month and they had EVERYSHOW on there. All simpsons SOuthP Futurubbish, red dwarf hitch hikers absolutely everything u could think of from sci fi to commedy to anime.
www.in2streams.com - this was the shniz...
I am sure I posted about this before.....I check my posts.....

Maybe someone needs to remcompile this in VS2008 maybe with our nice fast ROM from Michy we will be running at good speed?
There's no sopcast application for Windows Mobile AFAIK but you can stream sopcast from a computer using vlc to a Windows Mobile device running TCPMP.... I've been doing it for a while with my HTC Wizard (tested using wifi), HTC Hermes and HTC Universal. I'm not able to do it at the moment as I have a Tmobile G1 now which doesn't have a video player capable of viewing http streams.... yet!
I don't know how to do it using Sopcast or VLC on Windows though... I'm using Ubuntu (Linux).
To start sopcast (once installed)
Code:
./sp-sc sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/6003 9000 9001
This starts ESPN.
On the same PC - To stream with VLC (from bash shell)
Code:
MYIP=127.0.0.1
VCODEC=mp4v;
VB=64;
SCALE=0.75;
S_HEIGHT=240;
S_WIDTH=320;
ACODEC=mpga;
AB=32;
CHANNELS=1;
SAMPLERATE=22050;
STDACCESS=http;
MUX=ogg;
TTL=15;
FPS=15;
vlc http://$MYIP:9001 -I dummy --sout '#transcode{vcodec='$VCODEC',vb='$VB',acodec='$ACODEC',ab='$AB',fps='$FPS',channels='$CHANNELS',samplerate='$SAMPLERATE'}:std{access='$STDACCESS',mux='$MUX',dst='$MYIP':9005}' --ttl $TTL --loop
Change the MYIP entry to the IP Address of the computer Sopcast is running on - use ifconfig to find out what this is.
If you want to connect remotely you'll need to know your internet IP address or use a dynamic dns service. If you have a router you'll probably need to forward the ports too.
Then point your media player (TCPMP for example) to "http://[IP Address of server]:9005".

iam sorry but i dont get it can i watch sopcast on my touch hd ?
I am currently trying to figure out how to stream Windows Media Videos (wmv) wirelessly on my Mogul.
Here are the details:
1.) The wmv is broadcast from Window Media Encoder 9 running on a PC running win2000.
2.) I am able to open the URL and view the wmv using another pc.
3.) I am also able to open the URL and view the wmv on my Mogul, which has WM6 and WMP Mobile 10, but only using WIFI.
HERE'S THE PROBLEM:
If I disconnect from WIFI, and try to connect using Sprint EVDO, I can't connect to the URL....
Anyone have any ideas about how to get the Mogul, with WM6, using WMP Mobile 10, to connect to my URL to view the wmv?
Has anyone experienced this issue?
or Does anyone know of another application, besides WMP Mobile 10, that will play wmv from a URL?
Thanks
I'm trying to find solutions to streaming my Windows Media Center content to my Windows Mobile 6.1 Diamond via wireless web. There seems to be ways to do it, but am having troubles getting it setup. Currently I'm trying WebGuide 4, but it doesn't want to load on Opera Mini or IE.
Anyone have any luck with this platform or any other ideas on how to do this?? Specifically I'd like to stream recorded video from my home desktop.
Thanks
Lee
