Sorry for late reply. Dunno why nobody has replied to you yet.
I don't know if you can get a french version of ROM, but the one in English released by ATT for Siemens SX56 (A.30.09 ENG) works very good. I upgraded my Qtek 1010 from version 3.14 to wm2003 several versions cooked in Jeff's kitchen but I have so far found this to be the most stable and convenient. Not only that, many bugs in the earlier versions of wm2003 are fixed. (Multiple Reset Notification bug still exists but it can be handled by scarybear software available free at http://www.scarybearsoftware.com
You can get it if you follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=5623&highlight=qtek+wm2003
I discovered that the Activesync method to flash this ROM does not work. The Program A just does not run. I used SD card method. It works.
The ATT release comes with ROM upgrade and Radio Upgrade files. If you are not having any problems with your present radio, never attempt to upgrade the Radio Stack. You can find enough dead devices if you browse through this forum.
Somewhere I read in this forum that the NK.NBF file can be extracted from the downloaded file, however I could not figure out how. I ran the application and quit before it started to flash the device. You can find the NK.NBF file in c:\Program Files\SX56 Upgrade*\...\english\ folder.
You can get the .nbf file out by just opening the .exe file with winzip. At least that's how I did it
Perhaps it can be done with winzip. I use Ultimate Zip and it does not allow it
i just change the extention from exe to zip and the file acts like any other zip file
hey all ..
I found an upgrade for the imate JAM radio stack, it suppose to enhance audio quality and signal strength, so i thought what the hell, let's give a try, so i upgraded my JAM from 1.01 to 1.05 and i didn't notice any major differences :
1- Audio quality during calls : maybe 10-20% better than b4, speakephone is gone though, i dunno why, it's not gone completely, actually it's so low that u have to put ur jam to ur ear to hear the other party.
2- I used to get full signal at my home, and 2-3 maximum at work: still the same no differences.
but that's just me and i don't know how to do real tests. so I think u all should try it and give ur opinions, i would have post a link, but i don't know if its legal to do that in this forum, if it's legal give me a good uploading site, it's a 2MB zip file.
the only thing confusing is this upgrade isn't avaliable on I'mate's site or any other site, and the forums i got this upgrade from has deleted all the threads regarding this upgrade
anyways, if anyone tried that, share here. it definitely worth a try.
Where have U found this update?!

if the speaker phone volume is too low with this 'update' then I guess I will wait for something else :? my speaker phone is doing ok now... wouldn't wan t to mess that up.
Strange, I have done the upgrade, and my radio works fine, even the speakerphone works flawlessly.
So ....
The Magician radiostack 1.05 is part of the Swiss Qtek s100 upgrade. Using it on an i-Mate JAM is simple.
First of all, make sure you have BOTH the i-Mate rom upgrade package and the qtek upgrade package available!!!!
Unpack the Qtek upgrade package manually to a directory and delete the rom and the extended rom files, and run the upgrade with only the radio file .... you will see that suddenly there's no country ID errors
After upgrading your radio stack, you will see that in the process, while upgrading the radio, the rom and extended rom have been erased. Now unpack your i-Mate Jam upgrade package, delete the radio file and run the upgrade. Now, the original rom and extended rom are being put back onto your i-Mate, while skipping the radio upgrade.
Of course, all of this is at your OWN RISK
Where do I get the Qtek Radio Upgrade? Can I install it over the JAM's Radio Ver or not (i.e. after hard-reset and 1st time setup I stop the Ext ROM from installing copy the Qtek 1.05 cab install that, run Ext ROM except imate Radio ver) ?
The Qtek rom:
http://www.qtek.nu/files/MA_Qtek(BrPt)_10600_116_10500_SHIP.zip
The i-Mate ROM:
http://www.clubimate.com/Support/ma_cdlsku1_wwe_10300_143_10100_ship.exe
The steps to take are as I described in my previous list.

You meant sweden upgrade no ?
Yes, the Sweden update. The only thing you actually use is the radio upgrade. The rest you throw away

I`m a new JAM user and I have`t made an upgrade till now...can U pls tell me which is the files to delete from the Qtek rom?...Is it possible to integrate the 1.05 radio stack in the I-mate rom and then upgrade?
Regards,
Primoz
You have to keep both upgrade packs completely separated, they cannot be mixed due to separate checksums. The instllation program will immediately say the rom checksum is incorrect. So, you have to unpack both rompacks to separate directories, and use the individual files!
For the Qtek rom you need:
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.conf
HTCRUU.dll
MaUpgradeUt.exe
radio_.nbf
and delete:
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
For the i-Mate rom you need:
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
HTCRUU.conf
HTCRUU.dll
MaUpgradeUt.exe
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
and delete:
radio_.nbf
Thanks for help man!...I`ll try it later....school is calling  . Does it metter what do I install first?....radio stack or JAM rom?
Regards,
Primoz
My post says it all ... first the Qtek Radio, then the Jam rom and extended rom back onto the Jam.
Wiz, what ROM/extended versions did that process leave you with? My MDA Compact is still:
ROM: 1.01.00 WWE (21/Oct/04!)
Radio: 1.00.10
ExtRom: 1.01.128 WWE
Also, does upgrading the ROM include a camera update? Or do you then have to apply the 103 patch that's floating around?
Thanks
Did you notice any significant improvements with this radio upgrade? My yearning to have the latest and greatest is dampened by my need for stability and fear of no real gain or even some problems.
Mike

why to go through all this when we can upgrade it simply by just one click like i did (the whole upgrading took less than 20 min).
if anyone interested in this upgrade, tell me and i'll post a link to it.
sozon
so you will have to be cooking ROMs for this??? a very detailed step by step would be great (only if it is possible) as I'm sure alot of forum goers are not as adept with fiddling with ROMs.
@ Sozon...post it and we will try

here u go ...
http://uploader.biloonline.com/uploads/MiniRadio1_05.rar
how to use: unrar, plug in ur Jam through USB, run MaUpgradeUt.exe
I tried it on my JAM and it worked without any problems(except the speakerphone issue which didn't happen with all users ) but:
USE IT AT UR OWN RISK .. NEITHER I NOR THIS FORUM TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES
if there's any questions i'll be glad to answer...

Solved it. With the xda3nbftool.
I have installed the new orange rom and radio is now 1.03 i did have 1.06 so i was wondering shall i upgrade again and if so what is the latest radio version that is knows to work with the M5000 with latest ROM.
The 1.0.8 update fromt his site has installed without error and everything seems to be working.
mcoxall can you post a link the the 1.0.8. you used. Did you install on M5000? presumably it just upgrades radio not a total reflash?
I have upgraded my QTEK9000 Frenc Rom to the new Orange ROM
I removed the radio .nbf file from the extracted file, so I kept my 1.08 radio version with the new ROM.
Everything works fine for me no problem so far.
I did the full orange upgrade then did the 1.08 after that. I didnt mind the hard reset either as my M5000 decided to lose its charger port over the weekend and it went swimming inside the device. Thanks orange for the very quick replacement.
I'm running what's in my signature with no problems at all.

no one to help me??????????????
Here ya go....
1) Correct. You can't upgrade your 2i to WM5.
2) I would recommend downloading one of pug's ROMs. You can find them here: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Alpine/O2_Roms_Camera_Fixed_Bug/
If you hate the o2 active stuff, then download the one marked "o2stripped" (I would recommend this one). If you like the o2 active stuff, then download the other.
3) The latest Radio ROM available for the 2i is version 1.04. If you upgrade your ROM using one of pug's rom, then your radio will automatically be updated to version 1.04.

BTW, I think your device is an Alpine, not an Andes.
Got a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I was updating my rom and it all went wrong. When I turn my xda2i on now I get the normal setup then its goes to a black screen with serial written on it (or usb if it is in the cradle), and apart from that it does nothing.
My laptop no longer recorgnises the device so I can't restore the old rom or restart the process????
Can anyone help please?
tez,
You're in what is called "Bootloader". You're OK. You can do one of two things:
1) Simply re-attempt to "reflash your ROM" with one of the ROMs you downloaded.
2) Reflash your ROM with a ROM update provided your manufacturer. I couldn't get my device to update with one of pug's rom (it go stuck around 18%) so I had to reflash my Alpine with an original ROM released from a manufacturer.
Hope this helps.
Justin
I have tried not to start the new thread about flashing qtek 9100 but I have a "problems".
I have read lot of threads in this forum, my device is T-Mobile MDA Vario (G3), and I`m successfully flashed to Radio Version 2.69.11, T-Mobile 2.26 Rom, IPL/SPL 3.08 and everything is fine and works and I would like to have some WinMo 6.1 version, but when I try to upgrade to some other version of ROM (for example TNT.20273 Series Official or any other) flashing procedure finished successfully and after restarting device, calibrating stylus, there is some installation starting, again restart and... I have T-Mobile Rom again.
What I`m doing wrong, I have read some stuff about ExtRom, do I need to delete all files in ExtRom-hard reset-again flash to have WinMo 6.1 on my device or what? If I need to delete those files in ExtRom which .cab file I need to install for my version of Rom (T-Mobile 2.26)?
Sorry if my question is dumb.
Thanks in advance!
I fix it, case closed.
