Dialer Skins
From the O2 Active screen, go Tools>View>Dialer Skin. I use the Windows 'original skin' because the buttons are easier to see in the car (none of those infernal bubbles...!)

I used the free program that creates your own dialer skin for free. You can change the opacity of the buttons or no buttons at all, just the numbers. It's very customizeable.
Dialpad Maker by Bong, search on Pocketgear. That's what I used.

Silly O2 icon on task bar

OK I have spent a lonley evening searching the forum for the answer on this - if its here I am sorry i cant find it - on my (new today) xda IIi there is an o2 Icon on the task bar - it sits in the most troublesome of places and covers up parts of program headings - it must be simple enough but I canot work out how to get rid of it - I have searched for the icon file itself to get the name and search for a value in the reg but no avail - please help - someone - anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
o2 icon
hi,
browse to the windows startup menu and it should be under connections, delete that shortcut and voila.....................
thank you somuch -
that was doing my brain in - what possesed them eh? - tell me that!!!!!
once again - thnks- it was the only thing PISSING ME OFF SO FAR
o2 icon
no probs........here 2 help
You can actually just tap and hold for a second or so on the icon, and a menu appears with a slide bar...letting you move the icon wherever you want it, that's if you want to keep it anyway.
I just cancelled the install of that all that O2 Active rubbish.
As I've stated before in here, I quite like the version that's on the 2i as it allows you to have different themes without it looking crap. Some of the features on this version are quite useful as well.
I've always wanted a screen that makes use of all aspects of the screen as it would a normal Nokia mobile, for example with battery life up the side and signal strength up the other, with some space to actually show the picture you've chosen.
I don't suppose anyone's found anything like that recently have they? I gave up looking 6 months ago!
Cheers

Sorry for reading down a few pages and bumping old threads (again!) but I noticed this thread with no answer that I may be able to shed some light on!
From personal experience, the O2 Active stuff that installs with the 2i installs it's own clock on the Today screen, and completely disables the clock on the top bar.
Having originally owned a 2020i and then getting an XDAIIi forced on me by my insurance company when I broke the 2020i, I hated not having the clock on the top (aswell as having the useless O2 logo get in the way!), and managed to forcibly uninstall the O2 stuff manually. After a soft reset, the clock reappeared on the top bar and all was well in the world again!
If you have still got the O2 stuff installed on your 2i, AFAIK, no amount of playing in the settings will get the clock back in the top bar without uninstalling O2's crap!
If this is the case, I would be happy to put the procedure for manually removing the O2 software down in black and white! I'm not sure if it is actually on this forum - I haven't found anything other than preventing it installing in the first place!
Indeed - I found that when I did a hard reset of my phone and didn't install the O2 Active software (the 0506 corp install method) the clock appears and stays there on the top bar.
I also posted in another post about the reghack that you can perform to bring the clock back, and did some experimentation with registry values to see what different combinations would elicit (showing clock as digital / analogue, showing the date, showing both, different alignment and formatting etc)... You can find the post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=188032#188032 (it's in the thread called "XDA IIi Missing clock at the top right" in the Alpine forum, if the link doesn't work).

Changing the Today screen

I have an O2 XDA Mini S and a T-Mobile MDA Vario.
The today screens are different configurations.
The O2 has some tabs across the bottom. One is for the Today home screen, one is for adding custom program links and the third is the settings window.
I would like to add these tabs to the Vario.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
you would have to install the O2 Active software. There's a bunch of alternative pieces of software which can achieve the same thing, though - cLaunch and such
Thanks ZeBoxx.
CLaunch - An even better solution to than the O2 one.

O2 Plus

Anybody have link or could somebody upload the o2 plus cab? I am interested to use this as pocket plus replacement. Is O2 Plus use less memory than pocket plus? Thx a lot guys
can anyone help me with the download link? Thx
Why don't you use the search? There is enough information even on this forum about O2 Plus
Hell, it's even patched
Yes i found it already. At first i searched it within the wizard forum and couldnt find it. At last, i found it at the general forum. Do you guys think that the O2 plus take less memory than the pocket plus?
Thx a lot.
Personaly I don't like O2 Plus, since it makes both my Wizard and Prophet act a little slower than other plugins.
You can also try SmallMenu or MagicButton for you needs I belvieve?
sometimes o2 doesnt even load after softresets! so blahhhhhh only thing i like is the last call todayitem and the shortcut launcher if i could find these plugins elsewhere thatd be sweet. ive tried a few but none look as good as o2. ne recommendations?
Thanks,i'll try the magic button. However, is there any today plugin launcher that could use large icon?
can someone post some screenshots of o2 plus please?
also i think ilauncher can use large icons.

cLaunch is a very configurable today screen launcher and you can define icon sizes etc.
Last caller is displayed with one press of the green call button and got rid of with one press of the red hangup button. Red button is also useful to quickly bring you back to the today screen from within any program.
Here is the screenshot of O2 Plus.
