It adds a disconnect option to the GPRS popup. Only realised it was an Orange thing when i put the 1.12 rom on my M500 and saw it had gone.

some of the files you've attached say tmobile on them.. does that brand the phone? will i have t-mobile popping up on every app i open. I bought my jam from dubai and using it on cingular.. i'm also on the WWE rom, just wondering if these .cab's are compatible.

The cab files are compatible with all HTC Magician machines (i.e. i-mate JAM, O2 XDA mini, Qtek s100, T-Mobile Compact, Dopod 818, etc.) and will not pop up any brand or logo after installation.

Are these cab-files ripped of the default install on the windows-dir?
Fonix voicedial is eating a lot of memory of the ppc. The normal installation (downloadable at fonix) can install on the sd card, but the extended rom versions i have seen only install totally on phone memory

Use CAB-Installer. With that, you can choose where to install.

Will ask one more time: I am on holiday so my only internet-connection right now is with my Magician and GPRS. Pocket IE will not handle attachments on the forum (downloads the php-file). Could they be downloaded in any other way or could someone upload the cab-files to the ftp? Please..
EDIT: Of course I found the files on the ftp and succesfully downloaded them with resco. Sorry, should have looked better. Even so it is quite irritating that attachment downloading is not working with Pocket IE

I tried that.. but if the path is an hardcoded default in de cab, cab-installer uses that default
Also, i do not see the programs of the extended rom (when i install them myself) in my 'remove programs'-list.

In fact, downloading works in PIE. Just download the file (it'll show as download.php, correct) and then rename it to whatever it should be with the extension that it's supposed to have. Alternatively, when trying to download via PIE, in a "Download" popup dialog tap "Change" and change the name of the file to what it is supposed to be. After your download is completed, use your file explorer to locate the file and change the extension of the file from .php to a correct one.

Aha! Thnx very much for that info mata!

But how does this work?! If I want to install for instance the Camera Wizard to update my camera, where do I have to install it? I asume it has to overwrite the original camera app, or can I really put it everywhere I want? And to make it clear... does this hard reset your device?!

TCMP and other files

Hello all,
I recently downloaded a tcmp zip file from the site so i could install it on my wizard. The file the reccomended as a ARM.cab file and once I installed it my phone said it wasnt compatable. My phone has a TI OMAP 850 processor and a 128MB ROM.
What version of TCMP can I use for my phone? Also I asked before on what thread telles me how to change flash my phone from Dutch to English and havent gotten a response yet. I've been eading through the site for few days now and i've read several posts on what to use to change the ROM but nothing on the actual steps. Does anyone know the steop by step method on how to change the ROM?

Make sure that the file still has its '.cab' extension. Sometimes when I transfer a *.arm.cab file to my phone the '.cab' dissappears and I get that same message when I try to run them. After adding the .cab to the filename again everything works just fine ^_^ I hope this helps some!

I have just got imate jasjam and with it i got pool game which is really nice you can play on wifi or internet.
So how can i transfer it to my wizard, i just try to send the pool.exe to my phone, and i got a message saying not signed with the trusted cetificate.
Any body know how to handle it.

Ok, you need two more files for this to work (provided it is not locked to the specific device):

please note that wm6 roms do not have good working video call (yet). You might wanna try wm5 roms first.

does anyone know how to change splash screen image (t-mobile)
i searched but, that welcomehead.192.png image file under /windows belongs to rom and cant be overwritten or changed
and does anyone has any sample image file which is 640x480 pixel to make splash screen

search for total commander, it's free.

i tried with Total Commander, but i cant change its name and properties (readonly, system, hidden, on rom)

Total Commander (and also Resco Explorer) will allow you to overwrite the file without changing the target's properties. At least this is something I see everytime after loading a new ROM, when I replace the two Tahoma font files with better versions from Windows XP (that look much better with Cleartype switched on).

Hi Everyone,
Great wealth of info on here so congratulations to the site developers and maintence guys as well as all the contributers.
I am a complete newbie to HTC phones and i would be really grateful if someone can let me know the following so i can start to enjoy my new HTC HD2 Phone. It seems like the networks limit the glory of this phone and you guys have been able to make changes possible so keep up the good work. having read a few post i've managed to change the stock 1.43 version to a stock 1.66 and i will hopefully try to build some confidence to use a customised one in the future.
Here's the questions:
1) How do i install application such as TOM TOM/Co-PILOT from my PC to the device? - Do i have to transfer the whole folder of the program to the SD Card? i have a licence TOM TOM copy so how would i use it on the phone? i have read cab file and registry modifications being mentioned but i really don't know what this means! would be grate if someone could explain.
2) in the same way if i have a movie on the PC can i drag and drop it into the SD and it will play on the phone?
3) Can i download Apps other than from Market place? again is it the case of drag and drop onto the SD card once the application has been downloaded?
I am a heavy email user who needs a device where i can access emails on the go, watch a few movies and use sat nav. I refrained from purchasing the iPhone as i wanted a windows based application for outlook and office compatibility.
please excuse my ignorance and apologies if the questions are very basic but i want to get to know more and i would be grateful if anyone can offer some good advice.

1) to install apps from your pc to your device, just start the installer on the pc. if you have your hd2 connected in "active sync" mode, the app will be immediately installed to your hd2. else, you get a notification that the app will be istalled as soon as you plug your hd2 in. cab- files are installed by running then from your hd2.
2) not really. the hd2 does not support many video formats out of the box, you will need to install tcpmp, for example. i use "TCPMP Tech1 Enhanced TP1_TP2 Digital Play HD CineVisionScope Version", this version of tcpmp supports most formats.
3) you can install apps from anywhere. for example, if you download a .cab in this forums, copy it to your sd card an run it from your hd2.

I've found a website with the TCPMP Tech1 Enhanced TP1_TP2 Digital Play HD CineVisionScope Version cab file.... would it just be a case of installing this onto my pc and syncing with HD2?
will this allow me to play movies on the phone?
surely you'd think a device like this could play movie out of the box!

cab files are installation files that must be run from your hd2. copy the .cab file to the sd card, open the file manager on the hd2, navigate to the file and execute it. follow the installation process (needs some time) and you are ready to go. (i think on the site are one or two things mentioned you have to set up to get the best performance)
this version of tcpmp supports most video formats, so you shouldn't encounter any problems.

The easiest way to install apps downloaded to your PC is to use CABviaActiveSync.
I have uploaded it for you. Just install to your PC and it will add an option when right clicking any .cab files.
This way you don't need to transfer to the storage memory first.

also, you can try the software "xmedia recode", this software allows to convert any video file to a format that the hd2 can play without any additional software.
