External Speakers... - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Now, we all love our little gadget (mine being the wonderful black O2 Exec), but I personally find that the speakers are just a mite too small for use when outside (sunbathing, for instance).
Does anyone know of any speakers worthy of plugging into our wonderful PPCs, that would be worth buying? Summer is on the way here in the UK and I would love to be able to access all of my music collection while outside (without running extension leads everywhere) which accessing their WLAN.
Any comments/reviews or links would help the masses of sun worshipers who don't want to leave their PPC in the shade (so to speak).
Regards
James

After a quick look on Ebay these Travel Speakers look pretty useful.
Universal has 3.5mm jack, but some of the other HTC devices have 2.5mm.
Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with this company. I followed a link from product number 9708030927 on Ebay UK.

Summer only lasts 2 days, is there any point??

Car Holder For Kaiser (UK)

Anybody got any nice ones?
I've been looking on Ebay and found a couple of good sounding ones, and even somebody posted a nice link a few pages back. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/14751.htm
But Whats a good one available in the UK? That one certainly seems interesting, the detachable bits seem quite good.
But my car, interior seen here http://homepages.tesco.net/~Christian.Newman/C3%20INTERIOR.JPG has the stearing console quite far from the actual base of the windscreen, where I assume I would attach.
Is there a good model I cant find that will fit the Kaiser perfectly, and have the slightly longer reach I am looking for.
Idealy not willing to spend over £20, but if people know of a top quality product, I am go over my budget.
Thanks,
MJ
personlly, i wouldnt bother risking 400 quids worth of phone with a suction mount!
brodit holder about 25 and an a screewless http://www.dashmount.co.uk/ or bend up a bit of metal yourself.
c3 braket, not the greatest possition tho, http://www.dashmount.co.uk/april06/711078.htm
the older model might suit you better, http://www.dashmount.co.uk/march02/c3.htm
Any universal cradle/holder will work but you get what you pay for. The Brodit mounts are reported to be excellent quality and allow the Kaiser to be used closed or with the keyboard out. They are available as passive or active (built in charger) and both types alow you to rotate between Landscape and Portrait. They work well with the Proclip mounts which are specific for individual cars. I wouldnt trust a suction type mount with my Kaiser , that may just be down to my driving style though. Have a look at the other threads on here for more inspiration. As far as I am aware no one currently sells the Holy Grail of mounts which would be Charging/Audio out/Mic/Rotation/Keyboard open or closed. There are however several homebrew solutions in the other threads on here and in the Hermes forums.

How big is the athena?

The dimensions don't tell me anything neither do photo's. The thing looks huge. I have the kaiser currently and I am interested in the Athena and the kaiser when I hold it from the bottom of my palm it reaches to the middle of my fingers(the middle ridges). How far would it go, and how practice is it to place a call? Any user experiences that are good bad? pros cons to it? I'm not looking at reviews because they are usually just to praise gadgets. I want real peoples experiences with it.
Thanks
~~Tito~~
the athena is about the size of my whole hand from base of palm up until end of pinky
its a huge phone but i love it...
everyone always asks me why i carry that thing around... but to me nothing else beats it
i didnt like using the bluetooth headset all the time and found talking directly into the mic with the volume turned down led to frequent complaints about sound quality. If you dont mind using an earpiece most of the time then this shouldn't concern you -i like talking into phones because i'm old fashoned and because it saves battery AND means i don't have to worry about TWO devices being charged before i go to work.
There is always the wired headset, but i think wires are a bit awkward and scruffy.
The size is huge, and certainly a talking point. Everyone who saw my athena commented on its size - usually in a derogatory manner - and i think i started to become known as the 'Big Phone Man'. I did love texting on my athena and didnt care too much what people thought but in the end it was the call handling that got me: you can have all the bluetooth wristwatches, earpieces and headsets in the world but nothing beats having a phone pressed against your ear for me.
For me, the size of Athena is the most optimal one could ever have. The 5 inches screen makes it practical to run realVGA at 96 dpi. (In 96dpi, the fonts are already very very small, but most people -not all- still find the screen big enough) If it is say 4 inches, I believe 96dpi would be quite impractical to use, and I believe most people would find the screen way too small to be used in 96dpi. It fits into standard size shirt pocket without any problem, and is not heavy enough to pull your shirt down too much. I would not buy it if the screen is say just 3.5 inches.
I use the phone as it is without bluetooth, sometimes with wired headset. Sound quality is very good with any wired headset. It is not in the same category of "bigness" as the shift. Athena is truly "body portable", which means you can bring it with you everywhere 27/7. I recommend a good belt pouch for this. I feel that Athena has managed to stay within the very limit of "body portability". Shift, on the other hand, is only "travel friendly" but you would leave it in the hotel once you reach your travel destination, unless you want to carry a backpack or briefcase in your hand all the time.
If you are unsure on how big it is, do what I did before I bought Athena. Measure the dimension and make model of it yourself and hold it to get a feel. (I actually carried the model in my pocket for a few days before acquiring mine). But it is also important not to think of this as a phone. It is a data first, phone second device. The size is superb for GPS, pictures, video playback, internet browsing, spreadsheets, word processing, etc. Smaller screens are just not as useful for these. I would be very very sad if the future model becomes say 4 inches screen only.
I agree with most of your points, though tito stressed call handling and size in his thread and made no mention of data-centic use. I would've disagreed about the Athena's browser capabilities until a few weeks ago but now Netfront 3.5 is here the Athena is a lot more desirable.
I agree about the 'body-portable' statement, though if you're used to very 'pocketable' phones then I wouldn't recommend the Athena, since without a protective case the screen is VERY vulnerable and nigh-on impossible to find a replacement for, even if you can squeeze it in my pocket - which I did, with the occasional scary moment! I like things in my pocket, not in pouches or fanny packs but Tito might be more like you Eaglesteve ;-)
The screen isn't transflective either so not great to view in daylight, though i believe you can buy screen covers to improve this.
I wouldn't disagree that wired headsets work great in terms of sound quality, but I just didn't personally like having wires trailing from my body, nor did i like having an earpiece in at work. I liked the 'feel' of the Athena and thus liked to pick up and hold it when taking calls. This was just my personal preference, and despite having every variation of headset I invariably held the phone to my ear.
The problem was that with both of the Athenas i owned - and indeed my Hermes which has a faulty embedded mic and necessitates loudspeaker use when handling calls - call quality was terrible when holding the device to my head - not from my end but for the other party. Held at the recommended distance as a voice conferencing aid it worked fine, but I didn't want everyone to know what I was saying!
I also disagree about video performance - not great in my experience, but perhaps graphics accelerator support is around the corner which would make a big difference.
If you also intent to use it as an MP3, you would have wired headset if you want the best possible quality sound, so I assume you would carry it with you somehow in your pocket most of the time anyway. (How else do we listen to music on the go?) Actually my version of wired headset is designed such that it hangs like a neckless over me all the time so I simply pick up the earbud and stick it into my ear when needed, and let it hang down like a neckless when not needed. The headset is inside my shirt with only a bit of the earbud wire coming out from the collar. So, it is really quite inconspicuous.
Yes, we do have some very nice browsers coming up. It has made hell of a difference in the past few weeks. It will get even better with Opera Mobile 9.5 and Netfront's final version. Not to mention the Skyfire. We'll be spoilt for choice.
Also, you might want to try Softmaker Office 2008, which is sensational on Athena's big screen. It is available for free download and will be free until end of March. Get it. I just LOVE this on Athena's screen. Read more about softmaker office here: http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/1078
I do not have any problem with my videos. All my videos play very well. They're mostly download from the net, so they might have been converted already though.
I don't have issue carrying the device in the belt pouch. It is very well protected already as I put the screen facing my body. That's how I carried my past devices as well, and had never had any problem. Athena's is not that fragile. Of course, please don't put it in your back pocket and sit on it.

I can't fault music playback on the athena - it's really very good, and obviously while listening to music i used my sony bluetooth earbuds which use a necklace design as you describe eaglesteve. I dont think the athena is the most user-friendly mp3 player about though - not for on the move certainly since it is very precarious and fiddly to use the device one-handed. I wish someone would release an iphone thin 5 inch tablet - no keyboard but intelligent autorotate and scroll with a screen just slightly wide.r and just slightly narrorew than the athena. Id get one straightaway, but then nothing's ever perfect is it?? I think if anyone were to make such a device it would be LG
I have an unlimited data plan so data is not a problem. I do not use a case for my kaiser I let it sit naked in my pocket.
Is it faster than the kaiser? Has there been an in depth look to see if it indeed was missing the drivers also? I would like to know this, I would use this as a PC mainly, and my kaiser as an away phone(like using it at school, places where you don't really use the phone that much). How practical is to use data? Does it work well with reception, call quality? How useful is it with games and emu's? How well is it in pockets(naked)? What is the 8gb memory all about, and how is it used?
Please provide some of your experiences and your tips, I would like to know now because I am very reckless with things sometimes. .LOL)
Thanks guys!

I know you don't really believe in review, but I've done a post review which is after 10 months of actual use instead of initial impression. These articles might help you to decide:
Athena's storage: http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/962
Athena's screen: http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/1011
Athena's keyboard : http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/1031
Athena as a phone: http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/1063
More aspects of Athena will be published in due time.
Hopet this helps.
Thanks!! I will look at that!

Actually I use the music player very easily. It sits in my pouch while I use it on the road or when doing shopping. I have assigned the joystick to control it. The four joystick direction will allow me to volume up, volume down, next song, previous song. On rare occasion, if I want to jump to other song, I press the OK button to bring up the playlist, then just touch the desired song. So, there's even no question of one handed or two handed operation.
Anyway, I'm very used to operating Athena one handed. I mentioned many times that I have mastered this artform when entering my golf scores with one hand while pushing my golf buggy with the other hand. I have very small hand so most other people should be able to do better than me. How small is my hand? Well, where our hand joints the forearm there is a wrinkled line. From there to the tip of my middle finger my length is 175mm only. Most of my friend's hands are bigger than mine. It is obviously not as easy as a very small phone, but it is still possible, with some practice.
I agree that the device could be thinner, and do without the keyboard. But I'm not sure about changing the aspect ratio. I've confirmation from users of such devices that there are software compatibility issues. One users mentioned that the compatiblity issues between 800x480 and 640x480 is more severe than between QVGA and VGA based on his experience. I have not used it myself, so I don't know, but I think it is not so problem free.
What exactly does it come with when you buy it?
Different seller package it differently. In my case (or rather my relative's case as they bought my device as a gift for me), I got a wired head set with the ability to accept phone call and change volume, extra stylus, a 3 in 1 stylus (laser, normal pen, and stylus), screen protector (not very good one though, leaves the gap around the edge), usb cable, VGA out cable, car windscreen holder (for using GPS while driving), leather case (a very nice one, I should say, although I never use it since I don't use the hardware keyboard), CD containing the ROM, CD for a Mapking GPS software with one free map of your choice, CD for Sprite backup, GPRS monitor, WorldCard Mobile (a software that lets you use the camera to automatically capture name card details into your contact database), CE-Star (a chinese input software).
Some other retailer gave away iPod or a 17 inch LCD monitor, but I did'nt manage to get that. Earlier buyers also got a bluetooth headset instead of wired one.
Search "smartphones show 31" on youtube, which has some comparisons between an e90 and htc advantage, along with giving a good idea of the size of the device.
cool, whats so different about the x7501? I mean, what would be the benefits of getting it, is it worth it?
X7501 is cheaper i believe. It was brought out with windows mobile 6 pre-installed and does not have a video conferencing camera on the front as it is designed for the u.s. market. I think that's pretty much the only difference.

Oh, so, its better since I don't need the front camera anyways? I really want it, but I am just narrowing down which version and how it would play out to my standards of a tablet like that( I know what I said, I consider it a tablet because of its size and functionality).
What other perps are there to the device? Other than the screen and camera.
If I live in US, no doubt I'd buy X7501, as I would get local warranty and servicing. It's also cheaper than X7500. It is my understanding from one of the more knowledgeable posters in this forum that Telco in US are not allowed to offer video conferencing services (those in the know might like to confirm this), so it is pointless having 7500. The only issue now is 7501 versus a SSD model that is still unavailable, but may be available in the future in US. Against that, is the possibility that folks here might succeed in finding out how to upgrade X7501/7500 to a SSD drive. Like I said, if it can be done, then the X7501/7500 would certainly be superior to 7510 in my mind because we have all the hardware buttons, which are extremely useful.

Poor Quality Tilt Car Cradle Review

Review of AT&T Tilt GPS Car Mount form JustPal at justpal.com purchased on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...rksid=p284.m183&_trkparms=its=S%2BI%2BSS%2BSD
This is not directed at JustPal other than their typical shipping policy. They do have a generally good record. I did get the same item that was advertised on eBay at other retailers for 10-20 dollars more than their price of 35.99. Other retailers use the same picture so I would imagine it is the same unit. The shipping was $10.95 (now it is $12.65) which was lower than most also. Also their shipping was fast.
Their return policy is similar to others on eBay which is they don't credit shipping so I would have to pay return shipping and new shipping (which has now gone up)and thus the cost is prohibitive to exchange it. Plus I destroyed the packaging opening the item and that would void the return. It would be cheaper to just buy another and have it sent immediately and not have to wait for them to examine the package and perhaps tell me I am not eligible for an exchange. I would be out the return shipping and still pay new (higher) shipping.
My quandary is this: should I chance another one as this may be a fluke of a defect or it may be a trend. Or should I wait for one that is probably twice as much and purchase it from someone with a better shipping and return policy along with hopefully better quality. Perhaps someone else will take the chance on one and it will be ok.
Here are my issues with the Cradle:
1. At first I didn't even think it was going to match up with the USB on the bottom of the Tilt and I was a bit reticent to force it as that is a weak link. I wiggled it quite a bit but it finally slide on with a fair amount of pressure. I had the thought that perhaps the stylus was causing it to be offset a bit so I removed it and it did go on easier but still requires some fiddling with it. It may loosen up a bit in the future with some use but the fit of the cradle is fairly tight which is a good thing. The unit has a label that states CM-A8925 which would indicate that someone thinks it will fit but they must have not tried it.
2. I didn't plan on using he suction cup mount so I didn't try it as I wanted to use the vent mounts because I travel and rent cars frequently. Unfortunately they do not fit very secure in my Toyota Matrix. Others with more and flatter louvers may be better.
3. Now for the REAL PROBLEM; when I first plugged it in there was a noticeable buzz in the speaker. It seemed to change as I opened and closed items and then when I started up TeleNav, which has an icon that resembles a spinning propeller, the speaker "popped" each time the propeller fin rotated. It would appear that there is some type of shielding needed between the speaker and the Tilt. VERY Annoying!!!
4. Well, annoying that was while the speaker lasted!! I unplugged and re-plugged the "hands free" wire (a short wire with a microphone that plugs into the upper unit and the speaker) a couple of times and the speaker quit working altogether. Now I have gone being from annoyed to completely disgruntled. After inspecting the unit it was found that the upper connection was loose and wiggled with the connector plugged in. If I did hold the connection in tight, it would again cause the speaker to work, albeit with the same annoying fizzing and popping. Finally it quit altogether.
5. A "tab" which is used to glue the front and back together on the side with the defective connector is not as smoothly mated with the side piece as the one on the other side.
6. A small clip on the vent mount that is meant to "snug" it up fell off inside the vent and now rattles while I drive.
7. The mount which connects to the base unit and either the vent bracket or the suction cup was very difficult to get on and once on damn near impossible to get off.
That is about it. I guess I don't need to say I would not recommend this to anyone. A $46.46 lesson which I can't say was worth the money just to publish this review. I really expected at least something functional. Oh well, I have a speaker (poor that it is) and a USB connector to play with and see what I can do with them.
Hope this helps others.
what i did to get it to work
Hello i to bought 1 of those mounts not from them but somebody else on ebay. I wanted to use the mounts for the vent too, so when i got it i took it out of the box it looked good so out to the car i went while going down the steps to get outside i heard something hit the floor and it was that little mounting thing that supposed to keep it tight on the vent .. So now at closer look they will not work so i decided to use the suction mount which i think works great , now on to hou i got my tilt to fit the case mine also would noy slide into the usb mount it took me awhile to get it in .... and i was think wow this is not good going to break my phone right off ..
So i took it into my shop and got a dremel tool out and went to work on the inside off the mount on the sides i kept taking a little of both sides untill it slide in easy and perfect now it fits great and i think it will not harm the usb deal.
On to the speaker mine also makes all kinds of noise but it deos work great with tomtom and navmaps if you mess with the wire and get it just perfect the noise will go away i can live with a little noise also when my phone is by my computer at home the noise also comes through my speaker ...
just thought i would add my 2 cents worth if i new what i know now i would of not bought this mount but i did get it to fit perfect after a hour or so with the dremel tool
Al
'
Thanks for the tips. If I can get the speaker to work again I will try the shaving trick. I don't think I will try another one of these but wait on someone to try some other vendors.
i bought the oncourse 3 mount for the tilt from buygps.com and it has a FM transmitter built in. I comes with only the suction mount.
It works as advertised. I used this last weekend while driving and found that over all it is a nice product. I was like $40 inluding shipping or something. I like the FM trnasmitter BC i can now listen to my podcasts on my radio rather than using headphones or such.
it definately isnt perfect but it does work.
my 2cents.
http://www.buygpsnow.com/Product/On...andT-Tilt--HTC-P4550TyTN-II--Kaiser__958.aspx
it got it on sale last week.
Hmmmm ... so it arrived broken? Irregardless of what their return policy is, I'm pretty sure they have to replace it or offer a solution unless it is listed as "as-is". I'd check Ebay/PayPal on that. You shouldn't be out the funds to replace an item that was broken to begin with.
I ordered one of these too. How is the charger? I heard the brodit ones fry the device. Does the speaker interfere with bluetooth handsfree?
Hmmm
Had exactly the same problems with a very similar sounding mount. It was very difficult to get it to mate up (too difficult to use regularly), it screamed when I did get it in, then the device went into a soft reset loop like something was permanently pressing in the reset recess.
I shall be returning mine for a refund and I'll wait until they get a new / better batch.
Hmmm.
Just got mine and I have the same problem with the connector not aligned. I think I will swap it for the one with the FM transmitter. I don't need the FM since I have a bluetooth stereo but I can use it in other cars.
New Item I found
well even tho i got mine other 1 to work with the dremel tool i think i will get this 1 instead..

I too, bought this same unit. I really like mine. I've had no problems with it.
The only thing that dissapointed me, was that the quality of the sound from the FM broadcast from the unit. It's definately strong and clear, but it sounds muddy. It's not great for music. It works just fine for GPS though.
I use it with TeleNav and I have no issues with it. It's a good, solid unit.
I've not tried connecting the audio via a cable yet, however. I don't have a stereo in my car that accepts input that way. I plan on upgrading though.

I had also considered tht one until I read this:
Hi Nick,
We’re sorry for the confusion. The G4700x car kit for PPC6800 is only compatible to use with the HTC mogul with Sprint and will not compatible to use with Tytn II, Kaiser or Tilt. We’re still working on the Kaiser car kit, but at this we do not have an ETA.
Thank You for contacting Seidio
Kelvin Chung

Seidio, Inc.
And I got this response back from Seidio asking to put on a list for when the TILT car kit comes out:
Dear Jim,
Thank you for your inquiry at Seidioonline. We will be happy to assist you with your concern. The car mount will not be coming out any time soon. We do not have a list for those requesting this mount; therefore, the best way to be updated is checking our site www.seidioonline.com
So, I guess we are back to trying various ones that "claim" to work until we find one that does work.
On a side note, one of those sites had this:
*Notice to Drivers in California and Minnesota:
State law prohibits drivers in California and Minnesota from using suction mounts on their windshields while operating motor vehicles. We recommend the use of Arkon AP020 90mm Circular Disc w/ 3M Adhesive [SKU 961] to transform any windshield mount into a console mount. Easy PocketNAV, Inc does not take any responsibility for any fines, penalties, or damages that may be incurred as a result of disregarding this notice. (See California Vehicle Code Section 26708(a); Minnesota Statutes 2005, Section 169.71)
I'm in California, but I think I'd still roll with one of those suction cup ones with the FM transmitter... looks like a quality product.
Ticketz be damned.
Very Good Mount Found on E-Bay
This is my first post, I usually read and try to soak in as much information as I can. I was reading this post and had to contribute;
I recently purchased a mount from GPSLot, an E-Bay store, I opted for the "Buy it Now" at $10.00 + $5.00 shipping I figured I couldn't go wrong. I also purchased a mini USB and 3.5mm Stereo Audio Adapter, which allows you to charge your Tilt II and you have the stereo jack (my Nissan Titan has an input jack in the dash). I received both items in 4 days at $22.00 shipped!
I am very happy with the mount. My truck has a very long dash, so I put the mount on the dash because my windshield is just too far away. It is has 2 different axis' to adjust and the cradle rotates letting you turn your Tilt II on either side or leave it straight up. The phone is held in place by a spring loaded catch that tilts back to let it slide right in. I was afraid it was going to be one of those stiff plastic cradles that put alot of pressure on your device as it is being installed or removed, but that isn't the case.
My wife has a Tom-tom One, and I have a Mio Digiwalker c220, so I have something to compare this mount to. I like the way this one sits and the adjustments much better than either of the actual GPS mounts.
You can browse the store and see what you think,

I don't know how long this following link will be good but have a try,

Tilt GPS Cradle from Justpal.com Revisited with GOOD NEWS

MisThis is a follow up to my last review of the GPS Cradle from Justpal.com.
First of all I must give KUDOS to Justpal.com . As I wrote before, I really had no problem with them as far as quick shipping. Their shipping fees were also lower than other vendors with the same model of GPS cradle. I referenced my previous review in the short space that eBay gives you for comments. The folks at Justpal emailed me for a copy of the review which I sent them. Of their own volition they sent me another cradle without charging me any shipping. While I was surprised, I did not anticipate much better performance than the last. I was pleasantly surprised!
Each of the issues which I had with the cradle was resolved with this new cradle. I apparently had received a unit that was produced with multiple defects.
The first issue I had was the fit of the Tilt in the cradle. This one is very good. It is still tight but the connector lined up without undue force or any wiggling of the Tilt to get it aligned. I would say this issue is resolved.
Secondly, since the vent mount brackets didn’t fit well in my Matrix vents, I used the suction cup mount. It is better than I had anticipated and actually allows the arm on the mount, which is covered with a ribbed plastic sleeve, to provide a bit of a cushion to the unit where it rests on the dashboard. It could also be adjusted to allow a landscape view of the road but I prefer to see the long view rather than the wide view of the road. It is slightly more to pack when I travel but not a real problem at all. I would consider this issue resolved also.
Thirdly and the real issue was due to the initial trouble I had with the speaker, I was never able to get the car on the road and drive around before the speaker broke completely. While this one still has some minor bleed thru with the car off and sitting still, there is not the incessant buzz as before and not even noticeable once the car is on and moving. The quality of the speaker is very satisfactory for the speaking voice of the TeleNav GPS. Where I can barely hear the voice from the Tilt speaker with the volume all the way up outside of the cradle, I was able to hear the directions quite clearly thru the built in speaker of the GPS cradle unit with the volume only approximately half way up on the Tilt. I don’t know about music but that is not a concern to me. The connectors are sturdier and they don’t wiggle on this unit. Thusly, the key issue has been resolved.
The only minor issue is that the suction cup mounting bracket still is a bit too snug to get off and on the cradle easily but a couple of passes with a small file resolved that issue and it is still snug but easier to get off and on.
In summary, I am now a “happy camper” and very appreciative of Justpal for taking the chance on sending me a new unit with no commitment on my part to give them a good review. They do have other Tilt desktop charging cradles and other accessories which I will order from them due to their outstanding customer service. I will be purchasing the charging cradle and a set of three of the combo pen and stylus that I have seen on well know sites for substantially more than Justpal charges.
Hope this helps others on their quest for a GPS cradle for their Tilt.

Here is a link to the item in their eBay store.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Car-Moun...35193QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262
It's $35.99 with $12.15 shipping which was fast. From the email I got from them this is the newer model that fits better - and the one they resent me does.
Here is the link to the search I did on the Tilt in their store.

Hope this helps!
that looks great! I am gonna have to get one of those for my travels....
speaker not as good
Well, I used to have one. I bought it originally for my previous Hermes 8525. It does hold the device securely as it is made specifically for the device. But you cannot rely on the speaker function due to it being too close to the, so will hear static all the time, especially while the phone is charging.
I have one for my old Wizard. It came with an iBT bluetooth GPS for like 10 bucks. It fit great and charged great but the speaker never did work. I just did a chop job on it this week end and turned it into a really nice holder for my tilt. hacked off the crap at the bottom, fitted a usb to a charger, mounted to a vent and it's nice. I Just took some crapy pictures from my web cam to show it off before I realized I've got nowhere to post them. So, you'll have to just trust me, you're jealous.
Is there an audio-out port on the cradle that can be connected to any other speaker source? I cannot tell from the pictures. Thanks!
Just received mine. Kaiser fits securely, speaker works well (with 1 exception below), suction cup works well. 3 complaints if anyone has any idea how to solve them:
1 - Bounces up and down ALOT and is too long! Appears to be an aluminum tube with black plastic cover. Has anyone tried shortening it by a few inches? How does it connect on each end? Did that help with bounce?
2 - Kaiser fits very tight. Can be difficult to get out (but better than having it jump out on it's own). Does is loosen up over time?
3 - When Kaiser is in the cradle some sentences in TomTom get truncated, in particular the one that says "After 400 meters take left turn" now says only "After". Works fine out of cradle but truncates this verbiage while in cradle. Weird.

I have had mine now for a few weeks and still pleased with it. I can comment on the first two.
1. I bent the tube down so that it was tight against the dash and that helped quite a bit. I have a Matrix so the ride is not all that smooth so it still jars some but so does my butt.
2. It does slide in easier after a while. I can now get it out without an extreme amount of effort but it is still snug.
3. Dunno, don't use TomTom. I use Telenav. Just a comment on the two. I have a friend who sometimes brings her TT along and I do like the way that the Telenav announces the streets instead of just the turns. Other models of TT may do that but hers doesn't. (Well, I did comment anyhow on all three)

Armband for TP yet?

I've been doing some searching for an armband for the pro but have yet to find a specific one made just for the pro.
Anyone have any luck with this? I understand it is a bit larger than what I would usually take to the gym but it would be nice to consolidate much of my activities into one unit.
The closet I've come to finding is someone posted that an iPhone belkin armband worked for their Diamond. Not sure if this would be a good buy.
Any help would be appreciated.

Wristband maybe
( I wouldn't like to have it higher on my arm )
You might be interested in this, however, the one review I found wasn't very positive.

I'm getting a tailor to custom make a breathable mesh wristband which allows me to slide out the top section and use the kb and have a cover to close it when not in use. It will work on both my wrists
As for armband you can get those meant for handphone from sports shop like NIKE sports shop
If fashion is not important for you...

Thank you for the input gents. I suspect I won't have this device on release date so I'll have to mull over these options a bit. Appreciate it.
Try ebaying for a universal mp3 armband. You should be able to find one that can fit the Touch Pro's dimensions.
You tried this:
S9 Fitness Pack
I got it and it fit the TyTn II perfectly (obviously came with the S9 headset as well!)

and wen its cold i want my hands in my pockets! agh
Bump
Anyone ever find anything that worked?
I found these - http://www.amazon.com/BLACK-CELLET-...ts=1&colid=&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending
Buy it has bad reviews about some glue like substance and such.
I'm desperately looking for an armband that has a clear cover over the front so I can control the phone.
Cord hole is not too important. I work out with my Jabra BT8010 Stereo bluetooth headphones all the time (LOVE them!)
That motorola S9 stink! Had one for a day before returned to newegg. Ear pieces were uncomfortable. But the solid band on the back of the head was annoying for working out! Benchpress with music was impossible (bench would knock off the headphones)
