Changing left menu button on MDA Pro to contacts

If I change in the registry the 112 key to "contacts" it doesn't work. If I change the registry to poutook.exe contacts, it doesn't work.
What am I missing, I use the reg tweak for changing the button from the wiki universal page:
"To change the softkeys on the Today screen
The left-hand softkey settings are at 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112', the right-hand softkey settings are at 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113'
The 'Default' string value can be changed to whatever text you wish to have displayed
The 'Open' string value can be changed to the program you wish to run when the softkey is pressed "

Solution
Ok, I worked it out.
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Contacts\Contacts.lnk does the trick.
It's a bit long, but I cannot find the correct direct app link. Anyway it works like this.......

HTC Herald (P4350) How to change the left and right softkeys ?

Hello,
how can i change the left or right softkeys from the HTC Herald ?
With PHM Registry Editor i found:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
I changed the string "open" value data from "\Windows\calendar.exe" to "\Windows\poutlook.exe" and the string "default" value data Calendar to E-Mail.
After this settings on the homescreen shows the HTC Herald on the left softkey "E-Mail", but when i pushed this key "Calendar" starts :-(
After a softreset it shows me again "Calendar" on the left side.
What can i do ??

Tweaks2k2 has a function that changes the soft keys.

There are 2 fixes here - i think the second (dotfreds) is the better - follow my links.

this applet doesnt work well on herald. i get an error when i map sms app on left key.

Can't get my SecondToday on the Left Button

Hello,
I want to have on my TodyScreen on the Left-Button, a button, to access the App SecondToday..
But it doesen't work!
I've tried these to ways:

As I searched in the Registry, the Keys are setten, but nothing happend!
I maybe reseted the Phone, 5 times!
The left Button, only says "Alle Kontakte" (the german phrase for "all contacts").
What am I supposed to do?

i "as a monkey" followed this info reported in diamond tweaks:
31. Remap Manila softkeys:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum :
i left homelskargument and homerskargument empty
note SecondToday is different than secondtoday...

Manila 2D Softkey shortcut to another tab?

you can open a tab with this:
\windows\manila.exe --switchtopage home.page
Instead of "home.page" you can use:
* messaging.page
* weather.page
* people.page
* email.page
* album.page
* music.page
* internet.page
* settings.page
* programs.page
You can also use the shortcut for:
Manila softkeys:
31. Remap Manila softkeys:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/

I found the above in the Diamond forums, so I was wondering if there is a way to do this in Manila 2D and change the Home tab softkeys to link to another TAB (ie, Programs, Internet, Contacts) , instead a program. I know you can use Manila 2D customizer or simply make changes in the regitry if you want to change the home softkeys to link to an App, but i'm talking about another tab here.

Hmmm, they made this feature available in TF3D, so I was just wondering if there was a way for it on TF2D. I have Camera as my default, so I wanted the Programs tab instead. Thanks for sharing your personal opinion.

Oh, it's definitely possible. My NFSFAN VZW 1.10 ROM had the M2D programs tab as the right softkey as default, on my Vogue, but I'm not using it right now so I couldn't double-check it. Did you try the Diamond forum thing? I'm not sure if you need to swtich the name of the .exe, but it seems reasonable that the two programs would have similar functionality.

Extend you ProgrammLauncher menu

Last night i was playing around with the Program Launcher menu and discovered that you can extend it by simply adding some values in the registry.
The registry key to do all this is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/Manilla/ProgramLauncher
Standard the subkeys are numbered from 0 to 29.
You can extend your Launcher menu by adding a new group of 3 empty program buttons by adding 30, 31 and 32 (so new subkeys). Always add keys in groups of 3. So 33, 34 and 35 and so on. Don't know if there's a limit on this one.
A number subkey should contain the following values:
String - DispName
String - IconPath
DWORD - IsReadOnly, dec value 0
String - Path
You can leave the string values open because they are automatically filled in when you add a new shortcut.
Don't forget to adjust the following value also. It's in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/Manilla/ProgramLauncher/totalItemCount (dword, dec value), change to the max number op empty program places. I tried with 50.
You can now disable TF3D and re-enable it again to see the new empty program buttons or you can simply soft reset your device (reboot windows mobile).
This should work perfectly. But some problem I'm having is, after having installed the cabfile with which you can wipe the first 4 (unremovable) program shortcuts, I'm not able to add any program shortcuts anymore. Well i can select a program which i like in the program launcher as a shortcut, but the shortcut is not added to the launcher menu. I uninstalled the cabfile, and rebooted windows mobile, but the problem isn't solved with that. Some one know a solution to this?

I have the same problem that the shortcuts are not added though...
What does work is to add the path and name manually...
To easily create more keys you can also export 1 key and edit the key name in notepad (increase the number by 1) and import the key again.
I think you need to edit some more keys.
Could it be you need to add the program path as a string value in the root of ProgramLauncher as well?
At least I increased the totalItemcount to 32.

of course you can add the shortcuts manually through the registry, but that's not quite the solution. Are there more people having this problem?

Yeah I have the same problem, I get empty boxes to add more programs but can't seem to make the button register a program unless done manually via registry.

i use mine own cabfile, works great, to find it goto xperia rom forum, and one of the sticky post is called FTP, by mostberg, goto mostbergs ftp and goto rom, touch x, addons, there you will finjd the cabs needed for top icons, not home atm, so cant post the cab right now sorry, but goto ftp there it is...

Is this the menu you see when long-clicking on the Hang up key?

I cant find the file...
i ave add 6 new space for program in the start menu but i cant add the programs... i add the link in the registry, but doesnt work...
help!

any working solution yet??
