I just migrated from Wallaby to Prophet and decided to give the old PDA to my brother. However, I wanted to do some upgrading before hand. How are the performance of Wallaby on WM2003 system?

Hi, Could I solicit some advice please?
I have an:
O2 32mb XDA I
with 3.17.03 ENG ROM
4.21.00 Stack.
What Rom & Stack should/could I upgrade to? Can I get one with WM2003 (even with 32MB)? I’m not a total pioneer and would like stability. Also where can I get the ROMs from? I have backed up 3.17.03 using XDA tools and I’m ready to have a go…
P.S. my phone is patched for sim free operation as I use it with a Virgin pay as you go sim (T-Mobile UK)

No problem.
Use one of the rom kitchens, e.g. http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
WM2003 works better on the XDA1 than the default PPC2002, even on 32 RAM.
There are also some nice features in 2003, like separate phone and pc volume controls, a mute button for the phone, etc.

I have a XDA I (with 64MB RAM) and I upgraded from the same kitchen above to Ver 4.01.16 ENG(lish) and it had been running stable on it since.
Seems to be a good and solid version altough it does have some uneeded (at least for me) T-Mobile additions.

I currently have a dying Wallaby ( Branded O2 XDA ) running PPC 2002 3.17.03, Radio version 4.21.00..
I've read through most of the forum and I have a few questions..
1 - I've noticed that some people encountered audio problems when upgrading the Wallaby to wm2003 or wm200SE, How common are these issues? and are they specific?
2 - If I do happen to fall into this problem, will reverting back to PPC2002 solve this problem?
3 - I've also noticed that some people have problems reverting back to PPC2002 after upgrading to something newer, how common are these problems, and what are the known solutions?

In what way is the Wallaby dying? I would suggest using xdatools and an sd card to flash the phone, you should have no problems reverting to your current rom, you can backup your current rom from bootloader to sd card then use this to revert if needed. Who is it that has managed to upgrade to WM2003SE on Wallaby, I was under the impression this hadnt been achieved yet.

Hello everybody! Tommorow I'll buy an Qtek 2020! Or, if I will have luck Qtek 9090. I need to know wich of them are stabile? I meen no hard resets,etc.....I have a very bad image about this kind of smartphnes because I had an Eten P300!!!It made my life a pice of hell, by freezing everyday and giving hard resets!
Another question is related to WM2003....it's better to change it with WM2005 if it's beta?All 2003 app. will be compatible?It will be more STABILE?No hard resets at all??I will lose the waranty if I'll make this upgrade?
PS: What is the last version of ROM for Qtek 2020/9090? Does they have the same version of ROM??

I flashed my sp3 to wm6 last week and am happy with it thus far, though it is a little slow at times. If I wanted to downgrade to wm5, can anyone point me to appropriate instructions and roms. Thanks for your time.

As for the flashing, it is pretty much the same like when you flashed WM6 on your phone.
why don't you try WM6.1 by aleut? i've just upgrade my phone from WM6 to WM6.1, and get very very pleasing performance improvement. it's much faster than WM6.
agree with vooc! why would you want to use wm5 instead of wm6.1 which is more stable and faster?

I have a Charmer running under Gullum´s WM6. Because it is rather slow, i think of upgrading to Vlodec´s WM6.1. Is there any advantage? And if it is, what have i to do to upgrade this? Please detailled description, because i am a liitle stupid at such things! Thank You!
