Inbuilt speaker still on after a voice call

I'm having a problem turning off the speaker after a voice call. The proprioty software I've written runs on top of shell32 using the TAPI. The voice call goes through successfully but after the lineDrop() function the inbuilt mic and speaker are still switched on. Interference / crackling can be heard if you put the XDAII to your ear. The exact same code works perfectly on the original XDA.
I've tried muting the volume and setting the mic and speaker on-hook via phoneSetHookSwitch() function but to no avail.
The phone software under shell32 seems to get the same problem except after a few seconds the speaker makes two short, quiet beeps and places the mic and speaker on-hook.
The only lead I have is that a few portions of shell32 had to be chopped out due to incompatability issues with my software. Maybe one of these components have affected the phone? Any ideas would be appreciated.
You won't believe the solution.
Play a short (silent) .WAV file after the voice call has been dropped.
This sorts the problem.

Loudspeaker microphone problem

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with the internal microphone when trying to use the phone handsfree without a headset. Basically if I turn the phone onto loudspeaker, even if I hold the phone right up to my mouth people have a problem hearing what i'm saying. The microphone works fine if i don't have the loudspeaker on, even when i'm holding it a good few inches from my face but as soon as i turn loudspeaker on, the microphone seems to stop working very well.
Is there anyway of correcting this problem as it seems more software related than hardware...

can you use headphones only (no headset) without the mic being switched off?

Just received my Touch HD today and had to realize that when you plugin a normal set of headphones, the telephone gets into headset mode and the its built in microphone doesnt work any more until you plug the headphones out.
is there any way to avoid this?
I wouldn't imagine so... It's a feature where it knows something's in the headset socket, so it deactivates the mic...

Phone does not put call sound (ringing or talking) through headphones

I will be listening to music through headphone, and a call comes and it isnt through headphone, I call with headphones in and call goes through phone speaker as if I do not have hadphones in at all.
If I press the speakerphone button, I will then hear through my headphone, but still cant talk through headphone mic.
I thought the call screen is supposed to give you options (headset, or headphones) but I think only saw it once, only thing the button does now is just switch the speakerphone and off the speakerphone.
Any one run into the same problem?
I have a similar issue except whole connected to my aux receiver in my car i can't take calls through bt i have to pick up the phone

People can't hear me when my headset is plugged in

This does not happen every time and a reboot seems to fix it for a little while however....
When I plug my headset in (no mic on headset) no one can hear me regardless of the phones mute setting. If I unplug the headset everyone can hear me again. Ending a call and starting a new call doesn't resolve this issue either. I have to do a full reboot or not use a headset. It is very annoying. Anyone heard of this issue before?
Seems like the phone is registering the headset as having a microphone when it doesn't. How many bands are on the plug? Stereo headphones generally only have 2 plastic rings on the plug, while headphones with a microphone will have 3. If the headphones plug has 3 bands or isn't sitting in the jack correctly it might be registering as having a mic when it doesn't.
There are only two bands on the headphones
