if i set my phone schedule as
peak times - when new items arrive (push)
off peak times - (anything else , eg. manually)
go to the comms manager
turn off direct push , turn on direct push
the off peak schedule changes itself
back to - when new items arrive
this behaviour is also seen in the k jam
is this default , is there anyway of changing this ??
My Qtek s200 does the same thing..
I think you can't change this, it's default.

Change the times that mail is delivered (or indeed checked) ??
I'm getting rather alarmed at the GPRS traffic that my wizard appears to be consuming over the last 2 days.
Can I adjust it so it checks for email say every 2 1/2 hours ??
Cheers
Mark
Mark,
If you run Activesync on your PPC and goto Menu, you should see schedule...there you can schedule when the device syncs.
Hope that helps.
Cheers for that - just actioned some changes
Don't suppose it handles mutliple schedules (or do you know of any workaround/program).
Also - again talking about Mail2web .... it is classifying certain emails as Spam when in fact they are not - any idea's as to how I can 'educate' it ?
Thanks
Mark
Mark,
If you go to Outlook Web Access and right-click on the items in your spam folder, you can add or remove specific senders to and from you safe list. In options, there is a section for dealing with junk email as well.
As for multiple schedules, you have some flexiblility by using peak and off-peak times (You may adjust peak times from that same screen). I don't know about other programs though.
If I haven't answered your questions well, mail2web has great online "chat" support. Give them a try if necessary. I've never had to deal with the spam issue. Pretty much all that they've classified as spam is spam.
Hi.
Can anyone help me with a scheduled bluetooth sync? Say, every day at 8pm (when I get home from work) and sometime in the morning so I can read my e-mail on the train? Here's what I've done so far:
1. Successfully configured Bluetooth between the MUSICPC and my PDA. I can now go to ActiveSync and select 'Connect via Bluetooth' and it works.
2. Copied the rasbook entry for MUSICPC and put a ' in front of it, so that it appears in the list for "When cradled, sync via..". Set ActiveSync to use 'MUSICPC to sync.
3. Used WakeUp to set repllog.exe to run on a schedule (I also just discovered RunEveryDay, which means I can even make this repeat!)
So, with all this I thought I finally had it, BUT then I got to work and found out my phone now won't sync via USB anymore... I have to go back into ActiveSync and set it back to 'USB Default, which kinds of defeats the purpose of trying to make it all automatic.
I guess my question is, therefore, can I change this setting automatically, or is there a better way to do this? VJBlueSync seemed to do exactly what I wanted, but it is WM2003 only.. Looking on the forum it appears I can do this with a Mort script, but they seem SO complicated.
Help! I am SO close. Thanks.
Mortscript could do that for you, you'd have to write your own script though. It can simulate screen clicks & modify the registry.
Wondered if anyone else had this problem. I enable direct push but a few minutes later it shuts down again.
In ActiveSync I set it to "every 5 minuntes" but again it goes back to "as items arrive" very shortly.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?
I have a Mogul with WM6
direct push = 'as items arrive'.
if you 'enable' direct push via comm manager, it automatically sets the interval to 'as items arrive'
Thanks. For some reason I wasn't making that association that dp is synonymous with 'as items arrive'. I finally understand that 'every 5 min' is actually a pull from the device, not a push from the server and taxes the battery, and that one of the reasons for dp is to get around this and still have real time email delivery.
Hi,
I have just updated to a windows 6.5 htc diamond2(htc pure) phone and previously i was using htc mda III with windows 5. My rom is default offical rom by at&T.
I am facing 2 problems regarding automatic sending/receiving of emails using new outlook on window 6.5(htc diamond2):
1) I cannot enter send/receive time interval into an input box as there is no option for this and i have to select the time interval only from dropdown list, which include send/receive Every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hr , 1 day and so on.. But i want to use outlook with automatic send/receive every 2 minutes and this option is not there is dropdown list of new outlook. Previously in windows 5 , there was a input box in outlook settings where we can ourself enter a numeric value for setting the time interval in minutes after which phone automatically send /receve mail. So any idea how to add send/receive every 2 minutes option in dropdown list of outlook in windows 6.5?
2) Previously when my phone display goes off(maybe phone goes in sleep/standby mode) after few secs of non usage the automatic send/receive part of outlook was still working in background and i use to get email message even when phone was in pocket , but in windows 6.5 i have to tap and wake the phone up manually and then automatic send/receive will work if the phone is awake. So automatic send/receive will not get emails when phone is in sleep/standby mode. This seems to be a big problem it was not there in windows 5. Any idea how to resolve this part?
It seems to me that window 5 was better in regards to above to 2 points. can we install windows 5 on htc diamond 2 ?
Any help in rectifying the above problem will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
can anyone plz help with this
can one plz help with this, is there any registry changes that can modify this?
Thanks

Push Internet delivers when the e-mail hits the server, why set it to 2 minutes? What is the purpose?

Push Internet has nothing to do with this. All it does is refreshing the content of your HTC Sense bookmarks.
Back to the topic: I wonder what was your battery life with every 2 minutes of checking the emails, 5 minutes are more than enough IMHO. If not satisfied, try switching to some push mail solution, bad news is that the only officially supported stuff is MS Exchange (which is not free). Other alternatives don't seem to be stable and, you can't rely on them.
I use WM 6.5 myself on my Topaz and the problem you mentioned about not getting the emails while in sleep mode doesn't seem to be present. My emails arrive all the time, in a 30 minute interval (just like I set it). This seems to be a reg tweak made by ATnT or something. I suggest you to reset your device to factory settings and if it doesn't help, simply switch to another ROM. I use the Dutty's Holy Grail and I'm very satisfied. Contains the latest Sense from HD2 and runs pretty fast and reliably.

Yes, you're right, what I meant was Push Mail, through gmail as exchange server.
I do not set my device up to check at intervals, it gets pushed to my device when the e-mail hits the google server.

Hi Guys, sorry to start a new thread, I have searched lots for this one, but no one seams to have the same issue.
My Hotmail and messenger is set up fine I get all the emails I want, but when I try to download an attachment (regardless of connection type) it says “This file is too big”
I have tried various files from 1MB – 3MB and all get the same response. For example a 2MB power point presentation attached to a standard email receives this message.
Any help appreciated
I have the same problem and I tried as well to ask here for a solution but nobody answered. So I have one solution for you - either set up your hotmail account via pop3 (then you will have no problem with attachment size but forget push email technology - you have to set the time limit how often will the device try to send/receive) or stay with default hotmail setup with push email (get message when it arrives) and forget about bigger attachments. Btw. with pop3 there is (I guess) some difference in synchronization. With default setup your mailbox is always the same on the phone and on the server.
Heya!
I'm having the same problem. Someone must have figured out what to do right? :-D
