Hi there!
I got a question:
id like to change the sound when i recieve a sms with a custom one on my o2 xda neo but when i copy a wav file to the my documents directory the file only appears in the ringtone menue for incoming calls. so my plan was to replace one of the default sound files in the windows dir wich is shown in the menue for incoming sms sound eg alarm1.wav. the problem is that those files are write protected. is the any way to get write acces to this directory? or is there an other way to change the sound for an incoming sms to a custom sound file?
1. You can use Total Commander to overwrite the write access. It works for most of the write protected files. Not sure about the WAV.
2. You can just copy your WAV into the \Windows directory. The \Windows is not write protected. Your WAV file should shown in your SMS noti sound after you copied it into \Windows
thank you!!! your second advice worked!
Hello all,
I just found out how to change the storage location of the camera pictures in the HTX Wizard (k-jam).
in the registery : /HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/HTC/Camera/Image
edit the SaveTo key to "../'any location'" for example mine is set to ../Storage Card/My Documents/
it's important to add the ../ in the start of the string cause the wizard takes by default the /My Documents/ folder as root.
Sorry - my english is not the best. I cant add mp3 files to alrmsounds.
How can i do this ?
Same for me. I have tried to add mp3 files into the directories sdcard\Alarms, sdcard\Ringtones and sdcard\Notifications. When I try to change in alarms i cant see my files.
Anybody who knows where to copy them to?
I tried to add a ringtone from Start - Settings - Sounds - Add Ringtone; but I don't see any music files in the list and there is no option to browse. Only a dropdown folder list is there.
Please guide.
Thanks.
Tap and hold music file in file explorer, choose "set as" (not sure about translation) and choose what event you want to assign it to.
Or you may copy the ringtone files into the folder \My Documents on the storage card. Then they will be found.

Click to collapse
This is a good way, always works.
Thank you all.
