OK I have spent a lonley evening searching the forum for the answer on this - if its here I am sorry i cant find it - on my (new today) xda IIi there is an o2 Icon on the task bar - it sits in the most troublesome of places and covers up parts of program headings - it must be simple enough but I canot work out how to get rid of it - I have searched for the icon file itself to get the name and search for a value in the reg but no avail - please help - someone - anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
o2 icon
hi,
browse to the windows startup menu and it should be under connections, delete that shortcut and voila.....................
thank you somuch -
that was doing my brain in - what possesed them eh? - tell me that!!!!!
once again - thnks- it was the only thing PISSING ME OFF SO FAR
o2 icon
no probs........here 2 help
You can actually just tap and hold for a second or so on the icon, and a menu appears with a slide bar...letting you move the icon wherever you want it, that's if you want to keep it anyway.
I just cancelled the install of that all that O2 Active rubbish.
As I've stated before in here, I quite like the version that's on the 2i as it allows you to have different themes without it looking crap. Some of the features on this version are quite useful as well.
I've always wanted a screen that makes use of all aspects of the screen as it would a normal Nokia mobile, for example with battery life up the side and signal strength up the other, with some space to actually show the picture you've chosen.
I don't suppose anyone's found anything like that recently have they? I gave up looking 6 months ago!
Cheers

New Update of O2 Connections
New Update of O2 Connections...
Forgot the thread here...
Hi , I would like to know if anybody figured out when sending an email or SMS how to go from "To:" to the actual message you will type without touching the screen ?
The Tab key didn't work for me .
Doesn't the down arrow do it? Works for me.
V
Both Tab and the Down arrow work for me. Just tried.
Press Message button to go to Pocket Outlook.
Tap LHS soft key to select New
Type first few letters of contact's name.
When number is suggested, press down arrow to select number.
Press Enter to fill in the number.
Press Tab to move to message area.
Type message
nope it doesn't on my xda exec, if I press the down arrow, the scroll bar will go down but the cursor is still on the "to:"
I dont' have a scrollbar anywhere on the New Message screen. I'm running in VGA landscape mode though. Maybe that's the difference.
Doesn't Tab work?
nope the tab + down key didn't work, it will go down on the scroll bar but the cursor will still be on on the "to:"
You said you were on VGA landscape mode, is it with ozvga ? or did you have asetting on the phone itself ?

Yeah - it's OzVGA.
Man, it would be really annoying if I had to use the stylus to create SMS. This is the biggest benefit for me: Doing (almost) everything in the system using only the keyboard. I hope you find a solution soon.
yeah, I just have to use my dirty fingers to put the cursor in the right place :?
One quick question, I have some app like wisbar/ netfront 3.3 in VGA already, if I install ozvga will it miss it up or they will still look the same ?
Or maybe there is only one way to find out....
If you're using WA2 with OzVGA, you'll have to switch to a QVGA version of your Wisbar theme, otherwise it'll all go very weird. Not too much of a problem though, it just takes up a bit more space in your Themes folder having two versions of the same theme, and you need to switch them manually in WA2 when you switch resolutions.
This is because the system uses 96dpi (QVGA) icons, toolbars, fonts, etc, etc when running OzVGA.
thanks, I'll have a go.
still playing with it, just wait on an update so the phone can have a decent response time, miss my xdaIIs for that but, it is another subject 8)
Still love it BTW!
jeux_1, i have the same exact issue. It was driving my pretty crazy, but it helps to know someone else has this issue. Have you found a fix?
For the last three weeks, I was using the keyboard to write SMS, and my TAB key was moving the cursor from 'To' to the body of the message...
And now, suddenly, it does only a scroll down, like the down arrow, but stay in the 'To' field... :?
Any idea :?: it's really annoying....
Does anybody have an idea about that :?:
I think it is a bug for the O2 EXEC, my friend have an Orange one and work works fine.
I don't think there is a solution and it is a bug on the O2 one. Any of you guys can confirm ?
There is as well a new guy with a new Rom I will ask him if he has the same issue.
Actually, I use a Qtek 9000, different ROM
And it was working for at least three weeks... and now, it does'nt work anymore... smth changed, but I cannot find out what
here goes my theory..... :?
Ok, I found the solution.... my TAB key works again..
The problem came from Tweaks2k2 .NET, version 3.15... as soon as I apply changes with it, the TAB behavior changes...
Hi
I want to phone to keypad lock itself automatically as a normal mobile do. There must be a setting for this? As for now I have the lock thing in my today screen and have to press it. I often miss and hit something else and the phone calls people all afternoon while in my pocket. Somewhat anoying.

Would be nice to have a device lock that didnt take up so much space on the today screen.

Then look for the DeviceLock CAB file and assign it to a hardware button so you can remove it from the Today Screen (just like I did last week ).
Did a search for that cab file, but didnt find it. Where is it supposed to be?
/d
i used vjkeypress with the link -133 which will lock the device and assined it to my comm butten because i don´t use it that often and have it in my tray also
I cant seem to install the devicelock.cab on my Blue Angel ... is it because it wont run on WM2003 or some other reason maybe.
Does anybody know about another program for key locking the BA?
Cheers

Hi out there!
Since Friday, I'm a proud owner of a T-Mobile MDA compact III
And today I upgraded my radio to v02.94.90 with USPL
I got v02.94.90 on it and it booted up *uh* But since the update I noticed, that my Settings-Window in WM5 seems to be damaged
I can open, view and scroll the Settings-Window. But I can't open any items, I cant close it via the x-button and i cant browse the tabs on the bottom (system, connections). I can only exit the window by using the red phone-button. Seems to me, that the window is frozen.
Hint: If I open the start menu and then click on a different spot on my screen (not on something in the start menu), the menu usually will disappear. But not for me: Then the start menu will stay, but you cant access anything. Looks for me, that the window behind that (the settings window) is crashed :-/
Can anyone help! Please!
Did you try an hardreset.
You can do that while holding the two software buttons and pushing the softreset. Then a screen comes up where you have to push the green phone .
With a little luck it helps.
If not - you have to try the bootloader procedure - search for it in this forum.
If you need the bootloader modus look here:

Sorry for the late reply!
Some softresets helped out for me. That is not really satisfying. But my Artemis is working (huu).
Sometimes I get an error. The message sounded something like this "... found an error in the shell. The shell needs to be restarted...". If I tab Ok, my device reboots and works fine then. I wonder whats this about??
hey guys i just stumbled into a nice new(launched 1-1-08) program called Pointui it's a skin program for wm5 & wm6 phones. i am running it right now on my wing and i love the damn thing. but don't take my word for it check out what JASON CHEN from Gismondo had to say about it :http://gizmodo.com/339835/pointui-sk...?autoplay=true . btw guys i am in now way whatsoever affiliated to whoever made the program, i've learned so many things about my wing from this site that i just wanted to give everyone a heads up. again the program it totally free with absolutley no hoops to jump through.
btw the program has to be installed through activesync ( just so u know) also the link to the website it at the bottom of the review.

Is it Skinnable?
Can we change the skin?
That Blue is really boring to me...
Great program, i'll test it soom...
So I decided to play around with this for a minute to see how well it works....I'm pretty bored at work. Anyway, i installed pontui home and it works pretty nice. I also installed OTO on touch task and calandar program. Once i did this on my bottom bar where i have my contacts and calandar, the calandar button now says HOME but still activates the calandar. I removed and deleted both programs to see if i could figure it out and it continues to say HOME. I did a soft reset and still nothing. Any ideas?
correction..... The home button actually prompts pontui to start and once activated, if you press the button again it prompts the calander. I want my calander button to prompt the calandar not the program. anyone with experience?
after installing pointui.
hkcu\software\microsoft\today\keys\112
default = calandar
open = \windows\calandar.exe
but then you have to choose point.ui somewhere else on a button or put a link into
\windows\startup
btw - after editing the key -powercycle (3 sec push power and say yes)

i'm running the stock t-mo ruu without the t-mo customizations
and after 5 reboots (to make sure ram use is consistent) i show 4 megs of use (from 16mb down to 12mb) the program works very well but there is room for improvement, ie you cannot shutdown programs only minimize them. one thing i really like is that the weather feature works fine with the 5.99 proxy, there is no need to set it up, it works right off the bat. i suggest you give it a try.
You CAN shut them down, when app is opened, just press the top bar,
there you can choose Force Close, only counterpart is that .Home
goes back to your normal Today-Screen
In thier forum they have a link to download a modified .exe for the app that closes applications instead of minimizing them. Them forum link is here
