Does anybody know how to change Today soft key's font colour.
Help much appreiciated

any takers on this
I'm currently using the Orange.tsk theme (which btw is brill) and the background to the softkey bar is black, the text itself is Orange. Not sure of the relationship as I've never attempted to make a WM5 theme.

"Color_CommandBarText" and "Color_CommandBarText_Highlight"
Note that this affects not only the soft key labels but also any 'old style' menus such as you can see in Start > Help. So you may also have to adjust "Color_CommandBar" to retain contract with those.
Yeah the Orange theme makes TCPMP look a bit odd but I manage with the hardkey shortcuts.

If you want, try Tweakes2k2. It has a slider for all the color hues... Easier to use... Maybe
VJBaseHue has nothing to do with the color of the soft key texts
Darn, how blind of me, sorry... Tweakes2k2 has some font color changing like start menu, today bar, top bar, etc. but i don't know if it applies to the softbar....

I have the T-Mobile 2.24 rom with the default windows dialer skin.
When using smartdial I notice the contacts names I have used/called appear black; where as everyone I haven't, appears white. I thought since the white is easier to see it would be better reversed.... I was hoping there was a registry key I could change but I searched and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
Anyone know how to edit these colors?
Thanks,
Chris
Dear all,
I'm just trying to find a nice theme for my Tytn. Up to know I prefer the Windows Defeault (the blue one) instead of the Htc_default. Just one thing, is there a way to match the phone application with the Windows Default theme colours. I mean, when you press the talk button and lanch the phone app (the one with the phone keyboard or the call list) it is always in green (wallpaper, buttones, etc). Is there a way or a software to modify it and make it in blue?
Thanks alot, Diego

Hi,
Check out this thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=60958
Download the attached file, copy to your TYTN and install to main memory.
Hope it is what you are looking for.
Cheers!
very nice although maybe a bit dark. Is it possible to unwind it.....
Hi,
I guess you could edit all the buttons and change the backgrund to make it lighter in colour but it is a lot of work!
One thing I did notice and have tried to overcome it by editing .dll files with no success is that the Video buttons do not have transparent corners so if you change the background the corners are visible. However once you decide on your background you can then edit the VT buttons and colour the corneres to match.
Google "WinCE Cab Manager", download it (if you dont have it already), you can then edit the Cab file.
Please share any changes you may make.
Cheers.
cheers
OK, here is one with a lighter blue background so you can see the black text better
That's awesome... now I just need to find how to change the skin of the "communication manager"... where you can turn on/off BT, Wi-Fi etc... this is still in red :-D
Thanks alot to all of you... you rock!
Diego
Yo!
Like the topic says, is it possible too change the background color in the application folder? It's standard, and boring white now, and i want it black with white text. Is this possible?
Maybe with a small application or something?
So.. Do you understand the words that comes out of my mouth?

Thanx, but i don't understand it hehe..
I'm quite a n00b in Windows Mobile..
PS. i don't have a Windows computer either.. I'm using Mac, so f.ex, i can't use "Theme Creator" thingy.. So it must be done on the device, and not on a desktop computer.

id like to know how that works, if somebody tells i will format all the needable program icons with white border and inline shadow so it looks better this would be cool
I believe SKTOOLS (a ppc program that can manage quite a bit of settings) allows you to tweak your theme on the fly.... I do believe when you change the background color of that folder, it will change it for all folders... Completely unsure if this will work though due to the fact that I have never tried
try ui tweaker
With ui tweaker you can do this (sys colour change).
BUT I was not able to do a complete black n´white as the popup windows (notification of new sms, reminders....) still had a black font on a black backround and then i was unable to read :-(
The software is enclosed as well as my try of pure black - in case you hve a touchflo installed...The colour of the buttons have to be different from black then or touchflow will not work.
In case you manage to get a fully black theme working please send me the regfile from ui tweaker as I would be also interested.
Enclosed a screenshot wit my current solution - grey coloured
But you can also import the settings into uitweaker (allesok....sys) and try...

Hehe.. Yeah, i know
Isn't there a programmer out there who can make a app. witch is easy to use.. and stuff..?
Or(!) A creative soul out there who can make a nice colorscheme for UITweaker?
One more thing.. Is it possible to make a .tsk-file with a "total" black interface? Like henftling's colorscheme..?
It's quite dead here now..
*bump bump*
one of the problems with UITweaker is that it can be a bit vague which part of the system you are changing the colour of, and then you have to soft reset to check if it looks ok, if not then back into it, change back, soft reset again, back into UIT and try something else.
i want a kinda slate grey / black theme as well, but the ones already made out there are a bit messy and you end up with wrong colours here and there, not being able to read things or see notifications.
also i get the feeling that not every aspect of the UI is actually changable, at least in UIT anyways...
it would be great though, we have all these nice finger applications in black / grey and then they all cut back to the dull old Windows white when you want to do something proper.
when will Microsoft hire some graphic designers for a change instead of letting the boffins do it all?

I'm totally agree with you. UITweaker is anoying with the soft-reset crap all the time.. And yes, Microsoft should hire some new graphic-designers.
So.. i know that it exist many programers in this forum, and i don't think it will be that difficult to wright a app. that can change the background color and stuff..
So.. we just have too wait until a programer is reading this thread i guess.. hehe
"also i get the feeling that not every aspect of the UI is actually changable, at least in UIT anyways..."
I used to play with an application like this way back when I had my hp 2210, and the problem then was that not all of the colors of the UI were independently tweakable.
It is probably so with this as well as you can see from henftling's screenshot. The bars for his signal strength have changed to gray as well as his backgrounds. So the same registry entry is controlling two separate parts of the UI, which means no matter how much you play with it you will probably get some unreadable text.
I wish I could find the old software that I used to use, as it was pretty user-friendly and I think it showed you a preview of what you were going to get so you didn't have to reset each time. Sorry, I have searched and searched.
One thing I did find was this: http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/rcmod.shtml . It looks like it gives you some idea of what you are changing before you change it. Perhaps it will help you guys.

Hi
Does anyone know what registry keys and values have to be changed to make the default green selection to grey?
Cheers,
TheWizzard
PS! I already did this:
________________________________________
Below registry changes will allow you to change the highlight color in the start menu and other windows from green to grey. Assumes you are running the HTC Black theme.
HKCU/software/microsoft/today/HTC Black.tsk
change "Color_Highlight" value to 77 77 77 00
HKLM/software/microsoft/color
change "33" and "34" values to 77 77 77 00
change "BaseHue" value to 160
Below registry change will change the dialpad highlight color from green to grey. Assumes you use the default Diamond dialer.
HKLM/software/HTC/PHONE
change "highlightColor" hex value to 777777
But this only changes all selections outside of the new TF3D2, not in TF3D itself. For instance, the green selection color if I want to change the time, is still in green.
V ery interesting request... but I've one question why Only Gray? we can request to have a program to change the color with multiple choice of colors
Well, grey because, imho, that fits best with the HTC Black theme. But that might be personal.
You must change all the assotiated manilla files that are related to the highlight color. Go to the Touch HD forum and find a change the selected color cab to your liking that will do the trick for you the highlighter color manila files are the same for both phones so no conflict. but DO NOT try running a full theme from the HD as it will not work properly.
Unfortunately the dailer will not change with that fix tho as I am still looking into this myself the dialer on the Rhodium is being a bit stubborn to allow me to skin it fully.

This quote seems to indicate there may be a utility for some phones to do it for me. I hate the stock green but don't want to re-rom the entire phone just to get orange or other coloured highlights. I searched "change color cab" here and found only this thread.
Is there a Pro2 utility?
using ur registry will be too much just to change the color or your themes. why dont you use basehue much faster and better with multi selections. all you do is extract the folder and move the basehue.exe file to \windows\start menu folder and your good.
heres the file:
That changes very little... Most of the highlights are still green. I was excited... briefly.

Hi:
Sorry to ask dumb questions, but will this work on WM 6.5, TF3D2.1?
Thanks!
No idea... but it is a utility so if it doesn't work, you un-install it without any issues.
Thanks. I used it, and it didn't seem to change anything.
I am trying to get rid of the blue buttons on my Tilt 2. By buttons I mean the ones above the slider in my screenshot on the contacts tab, or the play etc. buttons in the music tab.
Any ideas, or suggestions?
Thanks again!

Unfortunately no changes to TF3D at all, which is what I was hoping to do

These files are all PNG files embedded within your manila files.
These must be first extracted / edited / replaced back into manila and then copied back to your \windows dir.
copy \windows\*_manila to your pc (they are system and hidden so use Resco Explorer or similar
Look for CFC on here..and download it.
Run CFC / explore to your manila backup dir.
now scroll till you find your culrpit files..and extract
edit the file in a paint prog of your choice.
back to cfc
choose replace.
choose edited file.
and then exit cfc
once done... you sort all your manila files by date and you will find the manila files you edited.
copy first to your wm device \temp
then use resco explorer on device to copy from \temp to \windows
replace and reboot your device
all is done.

Hi guys, just got my HD2 few days ago,
I haven't modified the rom or anything just applied the following:
Dutty's Taskmanager
DJC Taskbar
Cookie's Home Tab
I don't know how the quicklink or shortcut text looked before but I noticed that the text is not as clear, I mean the white color of the text of homescreen shortcuts is not as clear, I have no problems with reading anywhere else except on the home tab....
The white text is bit hard to read... I don't know if everyone has this problem?... is it normal?... Also is there a way to change the size of the text because I think if I make it like bold text, then it would be much easier to read....
again the Start button text, menu and phone at the bottom (which are quite thick letters) look very fine its just the text of shortcuts and weather temperature...
please let me know if anyone else has similar text that is hard to read..
thanks

Hi.... I don't see "Screen" icon when I go into system... ?? Which option are you talking about?
Please clarify
Thanks
p.s. this issue is the same as one discussed recently about pixelated home tab...
I am using stock rom with Cookie's Home tab....
If anyone knows about any .cab files that can be installed to solve this problem, please let me know.. .thank you.. again the problem is hard to read quick link text and weather text below the clock on the home screen (when I say hard to read It is somewhat blurry but readable.. this is not a serious issue but it doesn't look very good on the huge screen of HD2) any help will be appreciated thanks....

seems teh screen settings are hidden by default in some roms.
With a registry editor, browse to
HKLM/controlpanel/pen and change the value of 'Hide' from 1 to 0.
Soft reset, then go settings tab - menu - all settings - system and you should see screen settings icon.

Nice, this should go in the tweak list!
While I agree that ClearType makes a huge difference, I second the request to make quicklinks text in Cookie's Home Tab larger or adjustable. ClearType or not, it is quite hard to read as of now.
