Disable unsigned app warning - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

How do I disable the warning about unsigned applications? I know there's a registry key somewhere but I can't find it anywhere in the wiki or forums.
Thanks.

Best use nicos easy tweaker works a treat!

I get an error on my wizard for some reason, and the last time I tried to use it is screwed my WiFi up. Does anyone know which registry key it changes?

To disable the security warning when installing a non-certfied application, set:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 1 (DWORD decimal)
To restore the warnings:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 0 (DWORD decimal)

This key is NOT for installing. It's for running an application.
Can someone please post which key controls the install warning for unsigned cab files??
Thanks!

The 2.17 basic rom on the ftp site must include a cab that changes the correct registry key to disable the installation warning.
All other roms I've tried out warn me when installing cabs, 2.17 does not.
I really need to find out which key controls this, so I can turn it back on using 2.17
As I stated before, the above mentioned registry key does not en/disable installation warnings (when you try to install a cab that's not signed), it only en/disables running warnings (when you try to run an application that's not signed).
Anyone know the correct key???
Thanks in advance!

The above key is the correct key - it both warns on installation and execution of a non-signed app. If you have previously installed a cab and answered yes when installing then next time you come to installing it the pop-up will not appear. This worked on my device - qtek 2.17 rom - when i set the key to 0, the warning on installation and running of non-signed apps came back.

This cab disables the warnings, but I think it only edits the registry in the way that was already mentioned here.

Trust me, I've reflased my 8125 and reinstalled all my apps enough times now to know that the install warning and the run warning are separate.
I've now reflashed roms specifically to test this registry key mentioned above, and it only changes the warning when running an app.
Using ROM 2.17 basic, changing this key only affects the warning when running an app. It changes nothing about installing cabs.
Changing this key back to default only affects running apps, not installing them.
Again, I have reflashed many times now specifically testing this key change for both scenerios.
Still searching online for the other key...
2.17 basic has the install warning key AND the running warning key both disabled - but I still cant find where the install key is!

I really would like to find this because I want the security of apps not being to install themselves! But I do not want to deal with being prompted every time I to run a program.
I want:
Cab Install Warning: ON
App Init Warning: OFF
Several of the ROMS here are set up like this (Including 1.08 ship). But 2.17 basic is not. It has both warnings disabled

The key above is correct - at least on my device (UK Orange M600). Before setting, I could not install an app (MemMaid) because it was not digitally signed (not a warning - wouldn't let me install at all). I set the key to 1, and it now installs fine.
I guess there must be something else going on on your device... is it locked in some other way to limit intalls?
Sorry that's not a solution, but hope it helps narrow things down for you.

Registry setting for JASJAR after ROM update

I have just installed the new English ROM on my JASJAR, without any problems. However, when re-installing all my apps, WM5 asks me whether I want to allow the unsigned app from installing for everything.
Can somebody please tell me where to find a registry setting to disable this, otherwise I am going to be crazy by the end of the day!
[HKLM\Secutiry\Policies\Policies]
Change value 0000101a from 0 to 1
Do a soft reset.
Thank you very much
Now that installing Calligrapher 8.0 to my SD card caused the phone to refuse to boot, I'm going to have to start all over again ... :x
This hack also solves the "VGA Brute force not working after the update" problem...

Help with trusted certificates on WM5?

Could someone please help?
I have an XDA Exec (HTC UNIVERSAL) Ive been searching for days to a solution for this without avail and you guys seem to know what your talking about! Im very new to this and need a solution to this error when i try to install some applications and run them:
" X cannot be opened. Either it is not
signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be
found "
Is there any way you can disable this in WM5? my WM5 version is OS 5.1.1700 (Build 14354.0.1.1)
Or is there any way whatsoever you can get around this? please if anyone can help do let me know and post!!
Thankyou !!
Is your phone locked ?
It may be locked or your operator prevent installing all of 3d party applications. In this case reinstalling "clean" WM5 may help (I'm not sure though) - I'm only a newbie in WM5.
Another reason that application you run trying access trusted functions - like allocation of the physical memory. In this case I'm not sure what can be done - reinstallation of WM5 will not help.
Its unlocked! so if i re-install wm5 it wont say this when i install programs? i have tried resetting the phone and installing different roms but nothing works! is there any particular rom i should be looking to install? or anything i can put in the extended rom to install after a hard reset to sort this out? PLZ HELP!
I have had that problem, too and I was going crazy. Then I tried the following tweak but I do not really know why it should work, it just did:
in HKLM\System\ObjectStore is a reg key "RegistryType=1", which means Hive based registry.
When you set it to "RegistryType=0", which means FILE based registry, all changes you do in the registry will stay there also if you reboot with device's reset button...
BUT AFTER YOU CHANGE THIS VALUE, FIRST REBOOT HAS TO BE DONE WITH SOME SOFTWARE, NOT WITH THE RESET BUTTON.
Subsequent reboots can be done with reset button then.
there is another tweak that gets rid of the warning messages, but I did not use that one
really! which software could i use to reboot the phone??
also is resco registry okay to view and change this? it says registry type 0x0 (1) i have now changed it to 0x0 (0) is this correct? i performed a soft reset but im stil getting the error message! is this because i need to use software to reboot?
yep, the first soft reboot needs to be done with software. After that you can use the usual way again.
After I had done this I removed all "problem apps" and then reinstalled them and it worked.
What software did you use or could i use to reboot my ppc chuckchuck?

How to group cabs in one cab?

Is possible to group several cabs in one cab?
I want it to save in the Extended Rom of my TyTn, so that when I do a HardReset, automatic it starts to install all the modifications of registry and some programs that I have in several cabs from the pocket, without need of pc.
I search on the forum, but I don´t find any solution.
Thanks
Well first off, if you use the autorun.exe that already exists in the extended ROM and modify its configuration file (the name may be different for different devices, but it is usually a plain text file) you can get it to install several cabs in sequence.
Combining cabs is not always possible unless you are the one who created them in the first place.
Get a program called CE Cab Manager. It will show you everything that a given cab includes and let you edit it. As long as it's just files and registry settings there is no problem stuffing them all in one cab.
But if a two cabs contain a setup.dll there is no way of combining them without knowing exactly what that DLL does (it could be anything) and thats almost impossible (unless you can read ARM assembler well).

what levenum said is correct... so the best thing for you to do is to edit the config.txt file in your extended rom to have them install... HOWEVER if the cabs you are using arent digitally signed then they wont install using that method, you would need to disable the security first... Since no one has a signed disable security cab that works with the tytn the only option would be to do this on a hard reset; soft reset before the customization, when it boots run the tweak program to disable security, then go to the windows directory and manually launch the preautoconfig.exe
software alternatives
tristan1412, you can also use a software dedicated to this task.
check spb airsetup (www.spbsoftwarehouse.com, i'm not sure if it allows more then one cab), or even better airwizard (http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=airwizard)
the advantage of these programs is in my opinion the compression. then you also get several options like readme/eula (with airwizard you have spash image support and even sd card output support - that creates autorun content for the sdcard)
hope this helps

Keyboard problem in 6.5

Hi, guys. I am trying to cook my own ROM for wm6.5. The Problem is I can't change the default keyboard to another keyboard input. Editing the reg in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip] to another keyboard input make the ROM not bootable. Installing SIPchanger also not solve the problem. Is there any other way to forcefully change the default keyboard input??
You do it by changing the guid in the defaultIM reg key; you also need the clsid for the new sip. Let me say, I had a ***** of a time getting it to work w/ resco keyboard (worked fine w/ fnkbd). The key is to set the defaulIM key during customization, otherwise the rom won't boot. The skin files need to be installed before that key is loaded. With fnkbd, you'd just get an error when the welcomehead appeared (annoying) if the defaultIM was cooked in. But with Resco, you never see your bloody welcomehead. I'm not eve sure that the read letters appear on the splash screen.
I set the defaultIM during customization with a mortscript:
Code:
RegWriteString("HKCU","\ControlPanel\Sip","DefaultIM","{A070BE16-AD56-11D3-BC77-00C06C512035}")
It runs after the skin files are installed (also with a mortscript during customization). Again, it's important that the clsid for the keyboard is cooked in, otherwise the rom will brick when you soft reset it. Once the defaultIM is set, you don't need a sipchanger, and reboots are quick
Edit: it's always a good idea to put in all relevant info if you really want help. What keyboard? What sipchanger? What's your package look like? Did you make it yourself? Did you do it manually, or use a cab-2-oem type tool, which probably crapped everything up? My guess is that you used cab-2-oem, but that there was a setup.dll that installs the clsid for the keyboard, and you didn't get that reg key, so now your package doesn't work. I suspect this because it's weird that sipchange isn't working for you-this is probably because you don't have the clsid (you put the shortcut in Startup, right?). Cab-2-oem type deals are not a reliable method to make packages.

[Q] "Application not signed" after unsuccessful run of Android

I am running my HD2 on the stock ROM: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2. 15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe with SPL 3.03 (Stock, not HSPL). I read carefully instructions, and followed all steps, I am not going to describe them, used following Android build [30.11.2010] MDJ FroYo HD v. 4.0 [Kernel: MDJ S7.3HD].
After Haret.exe HD2 reseted, and there was only white screen with HTC logo quite a while. I soft reseted the phone, and after that reset almost all programs are unable to start, with following message: "The file ‘cecmd’cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found". It does not mean where are they installed, SD card or Phone storage. But not all of them, e.g. Opera 10 still runs. It also refuses to install new programs, installation process immediately ends, with "Installation was unsuccessful" ((
I digged the forum, and somewhere it was proposed to change registry value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies DWord = 0000101a - Change value from 0 to 1
But I can not do so: I can not run the registry editor, which I have on my HD2 (Total Commander), I can not install new, or install a tweak, and also when trying to edit registry from my PC through activesync connection with CE Registry Editor and Mobile registry editor it returns with error "access denied".
I do not want to make hard reset. I think there should be a solution, other than HR or flashing new cooked ROM.
Thank you in advance.

I found the solution Special THANKS to JZ SmartMort
Following simple steps:
1) Download following file: http://www.internet-tools.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/sda_unlock.zip
From archive we need only SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe
It allows Registry to be edited from PC.
Run it with working Activesync connection
2) Download Mobile Registry Editor: http://www.zipsoft.ru/catalog/mobile_registry_editor-v1_11.html
Also run with working Activesync connection
3) and modify the following keys to the values listed.
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101b","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001005","4 0")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","0000101a","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001001","1 ")
("HKLM","Security\Policies\Policies","00001017","2 4")
It perfectly worked with HD2, but I guess it should work with all WM devices.
FYI, here are some other useful software packages that relax the security.

I can confirm this is working! Thank you very much!
After using Android MCCM HD 4.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954030 i was unable to launch any unsigned WiMo application including haret, total commander, sktools and any registry editor!

Thanks!
@uta77 : Thanks! Yours was the only solution that worked!
Actually, just running SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe was enough for me to get CeRegEdit to change the registry - after changing policy 0000101a to 1, all apps started working again!
thanks uta77

thank you really much! i was all evening arguing with myself to avoid an hard reset. and you solved my problem.
Big Thanks!
I had to make all your suggested changes before it worked but saved me from a hard reset!
