Hi Guys,
Wonder if you could help me with a quick answer, I've tried the search but it's useless. Every time I click on a topic after searching, then find out it's not what I want, I try to go back and it's says page expired??
Anyway...
After having an XDAII for about a year, the other week I cracked the screen. I have now replaced it with an Orange SPV M1500 and after charging the thing up to 100%, the backup batter is still at 0%. Is there a problem or is this common with a new pda. How long will it be before the backup battery starts to charge because I keep getting the annoying warning messages.
Your help would be much appreciated.
thanks,
i have an spv m1500 and when i got it out of the box it was charging the backup battrey first if i were you i would goto orange and tell them. I hope this helps.
Battery is dead or you should hope it is not shomething else
I have the same issue and the only place that has them i found to be:
http://www.services.foxconn.com/store/Product.asp?Category.Id={015B5282-CC34-4E0D-BD91-D97EB366CA9A}&Product.Id={9372B82C-A96C-494D-8F9E-BFFD3EF70E2B}
Copy the whole link or it will not work. Let me know if this helped. IF your device is under warranty: well easy for you, take it to the service and they should fix it.

Hi all
About 4 weeks ago my XDA 2 was out of Battery and i wanted to charge it in the craddle. But when i put the XDA 2 in my craddle (with attatched power supply) the status led only turned RED and nothing else happend. After 30 minutes the status led turns off. I can not power on the xda, not with a soft reset and even not with a hard reset. So i thougt that the battery is maybe dead (too old or whatever ) and i bought a new one....but..... still the same problem!
When i charge the battery directly in the craddle (that works! led on the craddle changes after a few hours from orange to green) and put it after that back into the XDA 2.......... nothing happens....
please help
Hi,
I have the very same problem since month ago, I upgraded to wm2k5 2.03.32wwe, did a change in the system, and after 24h, my phone went dead
Did you do a rom upgrade or in any way altered something in the system? Let us know if you get it work, ok?
J.
The only ROM Update i made was the official one from O²... And this was half a year ago.
Well but..... I SOLVED IT! But i cannot say how... The only thing i've done is that i opened the XDA2 and deconstructioned it in its parts... Well and when i "just for fun" tried to connect the battery to the battery connectors..... DING DING So i assembled it again and now it works fine!
I also cleaned a lot of dirt out of it, maybe this was the reason. I will keep an eye on this...
But thanks for your efforts...
Greetings Ben
Da*n it, you lucky guy,
I wish I get off with such a simple solution. I do not have the right tools but I am out just now and getting the things I need. Fingers crossed
Red light means, you have problem with battery. At first check, if you have closed red lock on the bottom of battery. There is no switch to sense rear cover, so, it doesn't matter, if it put or not.
If battery is installed, lock closed, but you still have red light - try to obtain for a minute working battery from another Himalaya and have a try. If it does not work too... seems it's a hardware problem there.
Same thing happened to me I just took the battery out and left it for a few minutes then back in and it works

Thanks for your reply guys. I've tried everything you guys suggested, but I've been unsuccessful in starting my PDA. It's been like this for 2 months, I've tried taking out the battery, changing the battery etc, but still nothing. So I figured out it's probably a problem with the b/l mode, since I'm unable to enter b/l at all. I gave it to of mine who's a little more tech savvy, he's got the right tools to take the chip out, and if he can manage to flash the b/l. Has anyone done that. If yes, please advise. My friend has fixed some BIOS's for laptops etc, but this will be his first PDA. He said that he doesn't have a board for the PDA chip but will try to work it out some way around. Perhaps someone can advise me where to get that board from?
Anyway, I will keep you posted, and if you guys have any more ideas or experiences, please share.

I switch between my Wizard and Universal on and off and when I pull out the battery from wizard in order to take the sim out and put back the battery, the wizard shows the wrong time then what it had few mins ago. Universal doesn't do that at all and about two weeks ago wizard was fine too.
Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
my Wizard has always done this. It erks me when I'm away from my PC but I live with it...

Mine, too.
at the beginning, it is OK, but recently, once I take out the battery, the time goes back to 12:00, and date goes back to 1st Jan, 2005.
I think, maybe the backup battery is exhausted? but I check with Resco Explorer 2005, it shows that the backup battery is full.
I'm quite confusing now...
Does anyone have any solutions or insight? If there is anything that can be done, I'll be greatful and if not and someone knows that there's nothing we can do, then I will like to forget this and move on.
hello everyone. I am sure that I am one of the victim with the bloody battery of the mda pro problem, which is when it's goes at 80% it decides to shut itself down, which is really annoying. I searched the forum and I got different answers of this cause, which is it's either the rom, the battery need to be changed or the the mda pro is not recognizing the battery status. I don't wanna do any rash things and spend money about 75$ to get a new battery. could anyone tell me why the flliping battery is doing that and what is the solution ?
by the way I just got it upgraded to wm6 and still got the same problem, even tho wm6 is pretty sexy
Replacement Battery
Tried most of the proposed solutions in the forum. Unfortunately the only one that worked for me was to replace the battery.
me too - new battery was what solved my problem
After installing a new rom ,my polaris died ,no lights not recharging , I removed the battery, the SD and the sim card for > 24hrs and still the usb is not recognised and no lights at all and also not recharging any solution????
Hold camera button, and turn the phone on.. then you will get the hard spl boot screen..
After this you can flash a new rom.

do you have anything on the screen at all? or is the screen off as well?
try to be more specific please if you want to fix the problem:
What rom were you trying to flash?
do you have hardspl?
are you an experienced user or a novice?
was the battery fully charged?
did it flash completely and give you a message telling you it was successful?
is anything coming on at all?
is it under warranty still?
if you supply at least this information you will have a better chance that someone can help you fux it fast.
best of luck.
Venigo Thank u for your reply I tried this and tried many things before post ,no response.
bally3 Thank u for your reply I'll try to be more specific:
This happened after I flashed new Parcvello extreme rom.
I had a hard spl
I'm an experienced user
The battery was not fully charged and after flashing the rom I opened my polaris and it worked for 3 minutes after that it died.
No thing is coming at all
The warrenty period finished 6 months back
Thank u for your wiching best luck

My first advice is to try another battery. I cant see it being rom or flash related though its quite possible its hardware related and would need service centre attention.
Try a new battery. since you say nothing is coming on at all, I take it theres no power at all to it. You can try another battery or ask someone to test the battery for you using a meter to see if theres any charge in the battery itself.
When you say not fully charged I hope you mean like 40% and not 20% before flashing.
Did you get through all the setup before it crashed? Not that important but just trying to get a picture of what was happening when it went off.
if all else fails if you got it on contract you could ring them and ask them to look at it. If it isnt on contract then might be worth biting the bullet and seeing how much a repair centre would charge to fix it. You should at least be able to get a free estimate.
it can't be the battery, since the phone can work via the net with the battery out, even if the phone is off.

You are responsible of wasting 3 minutes of my life testing your theory...
Polaris wont work without battery as i predicted...at least mine wont...
So the battery might still be a possibility as mentioned above...
I dont see any other possibility beyond hardware failure.I tested all PCarvalho´s xtreme ROM´s and never had problems beyond software issues and he flashed the ROM and it was ok for 3 minutes as he said...at least bootloader would kick in.
Thank u all for your reply : I didn't mention that PCarvalho 's Rom is the cause I'm sure it isn't.
My second step is changing the battery and I 'll till you about the progress.
Still the same proplem after i tested the battery which is charged
in that case its a repair centre job then unfortunately...sorry to say.
Do any body knows where is the HTC repair centre in Cairo,Egypt
actually i had a similar problem. polaris totaly dead. then i discovered, that the sim slot thingy didn't "click in" properly. that solved my problem.
Hi Guys (and possibly even Gals)
I haven't been on in quite some time so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I would also like to apologise in advance for the length of this post.
I really hope somebody can help. I used to have a branded Vodafone SE X10i which I debranded for obvious reasons (I'm not bloody waiting for a lifetime for updates because vodafone and there customer service are ****e) and everything was fine and dandy in the world. However I then lost my phone and had to have another issued which of course was branded but that didn't bother me because at the time it had the latest software on it. When SE sent me an email to say that 2.1 was here I was of course over joyed, that is until I found out that vodafone were once again with holding it for "testing" purposes for an apparently undeterminable amount of time. Naturally my "Voda-rage" came back with a vengance and I immediately set out to de-brand my handset once again only to find that with recent updates SE had made to PC suite and SEUS the old method I had discovered no longer worked. I tried a different method involving switching files during the update download (using SEUS) of which there is a tutorial which I have put the link to in my signature. I was unable to get this method to work for me and after 10 attempts gave up and went to "www.fastgsm.com" after reading a comment from someone having similar problems.
Now this is where I have the problem.
I paid for the debranding and they let me download a client that was supposed to flash the phone for me and put the generic uk software onto it. Everything went fine and when the program has finished it told me to unplug my phone and start it up, the only problem is that I can't, the phone will no longer switch on. The screen clearly illuminates slightly but the phone never actually starts. I did this last night and thought that perhaps I just needed to wait a while but after leaving it all night the battery just drained and the phone never started up. The phone also doesn't charge anymore, it charges enough power to try and switch the phone on, pauses to switch the phone on and of course never starts up and just sits there till the battery drains again and the cycle continues. I have e-mailed the site but have not heard anything back and I'm just hoping that somone out there is able to come up with a solution that doesn't include claiming on my insurance again!
Any and all help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated (apart from the dumb ones....only kidding please help LoL)
Kind Regards
John Murchie
Aaaahh you should have read all the threads here first! The old method for debranding using SEUS doesn't work anymore.
You could have used the flash tool (free) method to flash the X10i 2.1 Global firmware or another X10i version, just do a quick search here and you'll find different files to download.
Now it may be too late because you need your battery to be at least 50% charged when you flash a phone, might be worth a try, but remember, the X10 won't charge in flash mode (when you boot holding "Back").
I hope someone else has a solution for the battery problem, if you can get it charged, using flash tool your problem is solved.
Thanks for you input. I did look around here briefly for a solution but after trying to sort it out myself I eventually gave in and just went with the easy option of paying. only cost me £6 as well so it wasn't all that bad! I'm not really sure how I can charge the battery up either as I don't know anyone who has the phone that I could get to charge it or swap batteries. Could try Vodafone but I don't see them being all that helpful really LoL
Kind Regards
John Murchie
When you plug the charger in do you get the charge light ?
Sent from my spectrum zx
When I plug it into the charger I get a flashing red light and then after a few minutes it becomes a constant green light and then a few minutes later the light goes out and it tried to switch itself on. A few minutes later ( I assumes because the battery gives out) the screens goes dark again and the red light starts flshing and the process starts again!

To be fair, it doesn't come much easier than putting the phone in flash mode and running a flash tool. Have you taken your battery out for at least 10 seconds?, if not do so, put it back in and turn the phone on.
Evidentely I'm more dense then most people then, aren't I. I have tried removing my battery for periods of time but unfortunately to no avail. Thanks for you input!
If the battery is so drained that it can't last the few seconds that is needed to boot to the charging mode then I would suggest you go the store and ask if you can charge the battery in their display phone. 10 minutes will do to get you going.
Yes I was thinking that, only problem is the phone shops around here can be rather ****ty to say the least LoL. I'm going to pop into town and give it a go though. Be a shame to have to claim on my insurance!
I have heard back from the site that supplied the program and they asked me to send the log file and then got back to me saying that everything worked fine on there end!
Obviously it didn't or I wouldn't be having this issue >_< LoL
