I've upgraded my xda to XDA special edition ROM v1.2, and noticed that all the buttons are not working while the screen is off contacts, calender ... etc..
Does anybody know how to solve that problem.
I believe this ROM has buttons locked except power by default, just like in SER1.1. You should be able to go to settings, phone, more, and check the other option, however I have had every ROM imaginable on my device and never  been able to wake it up using any of these buttons no matter what option is checked . If I hit the button a zillon times finaly it comes on. So don't know if checking or unchecking makes any ol diff at all  maybe its hardware related :? I have one of the first XDA's produced.
wtf?! They all worked fine an hour ago (power, camera, talk, softkeys, messages...) and now they don't. It isn't a hardware issue because when it goes into standby, I can press the power button to bring it out of standby. Now though, I can't open anything using their respective keys and can't power it off. Anyone have any issues like this? I hadn't installed anything or even been using the phone from the time they worked to the time they stoped working.
Try opening settings -> buttons ->lock and click in "dont lock keys"
Had similar problems that now for some reason went away.

Unfortunately, I tried that and it didn't fix it. It's so odd that the Comm Manager button works when the phone is on and that the power button will work to turn it on or to wake it up. Are there places in the registry that control what the buttons do? Maybe I need to reset this thing? I love this phone when it isn't locking or acting up.
So I reset the phone to it's factory settings. After I went through the calibration and setup, the keys still weren't working. Before I did the reset, I did notice the keyboard keys weren't working either . So after the reset, the buttons still weren't working. I kept just typing stuff in on the keyboard with Word open and it finally started working...all buttons are still working now, but I don't trust it much. Should I bring it in to Cingular to get a new one? I'm still within my 30 days
Yes. If you can get a new one do it. do it.
Suddenly my elf gone crazy :X
The phone started thinking by his own. I solve the problem with the 'Clear Storage' option in the settings.
(I was unable to perform Hard Reset because my buttons refused to work).
OK, now all is back to function normaly except the buttons still isn't working (except the power button).
Some one knows what should I do?
up!
I tried to update my rom to higher version (WM6.1)
works fine, but the buttons still doesn't work :/
Someone? Please?

Hi,
I currently found out, that Ubuntu supports using the Jade as an internet modem by now. It's really great, the only problem is, that if I use the phone at the same time, after a few seconds my touchsreen stops to respond and doesn't react anymore. Also the hard buttons will not work anymore, except for the standby button, but if I hold it, the question-window pops up, that asks me, if I want to shutdown, but I'm not able to do so
A further hint: Sometimes the light becomes bright again, if I touch the screen, so some sort of reaction is there, but I can't push any buttons, no menu, etc.
Please help me!!!!!
Thanks, Tobi
Hi, I was using AICP for the last days, and it was working great. But today my phone went haywire and the capacitive buttons stopped working. I flashed RR 5.8.0 and they remained not working, and are still not working after I fastboot'ed back to MIUI 8 Lollipop. They're gone for good or maybe there is something I can do?

ummm , well I didn't exactly understood the meaning of captive button , but
If it means :
1. buttons for back and home , you may use either quickball or foo view app from play store to perform the same function as these apps .
2. power button and volume button , volume may be controlled via settings > sounds and vibrations . No idea about power button.
Hope it works coz if you visit service centre , they will ask you to change motherboard worth 4-5k .

Thanks for the advice, and you're right, the capacitive buttons are the menu, home and back buttons, down in the front. I installed a pie control app that I found here at XDA, and it works pretty great, but takes some time to get used to it. If its possible to repair the buttons, without changing any hardware because I'm broke as hell right now, I would like that.
Is it in warranty?
If not get a screwdriver. And open your device. Remove and connect the plugs in board.
Search YouTube for redmi2 teardown follow the video only if you think you can do it.
Hope their might be any loose connection or something may be doing this can fix but there is a very less chances of success
